About this house rental
Contemporary and comfortable house set in a fantastic location with a great view of Long Island Sound and Stonington Village.
You can use it as a base to explore the Connecticut coast or just hang out on the sunny decks or the huge garden. Enjoy the sounds of birds and the sea.
The house is comprised of:
- Master Bedroom
A large room at the top of the house with a king sized bed and small closet. The upstairs bathroom is just across the landing.
Dark drapes keep out the morning sun so you can sleep as long as you like!
- Second bedroom
A quiet room with lots of closet space. This room is on the shady side of the house so it is lovely and cool. Double bed.
- Third (downstairs) bedroom
Another king sized bed and two built-in singles make this an ideal kids' room. The second full bathroom leads off this bedroom.
- Kitchen, Dining and Living room
Amazing bright open plan spaces that open onto the sunny deck. The living room has a small library of interesting books about the local area and literature by local authors, and funky and comfortable furniture. The kitchen is functional and great for entertaining. The open plan functional kitchen is great for cooking--we've had so many good meals here.
- The Decks
Lovely spaces for entertaining, dining al fresco at the rustic tables or just sunbathing. There is a chiminea and a gas barbecue. A solid, bespoke outdoor table in on each deck--we use one for summer breakfasts in the shade, and the other (can seat 10) has wonderful views of the harbour.
Please note that there is no air conditioning in the house. We've spent a lot of resources making the house as comfortable as possible with no a/c--with heat filters on the windows and fans in every room.
There is central heating (air) and a woodstove, which is cozy in the winter!

The house is absolutely stunning. Upon arrival the house was clean, welcoming, and Alison was very responsive. We took a walk down to ocean and the neighbors were also very welcoming. Although super beautiful the path is a little overgrown and we ended up getting a ton of ticks on us so we went to the local beaches around town instead. I highly recommend this place and hope we can stay again in the future.

The view and location are beautiful, and our hosts left us a bottle of wine and fresh flowers, which was very appreciated. The downside – all of the beds are ROCK HARD and old, the place has a TON of bugs, The linens are old and stained (and didn’t seem clean), we had no washcloths (they did bring us some new ones). After traveling all day, we had to make all of our beds (bc of Covid…???). There is no nightstand next to the bed downstairs. The downstairs shower handle was broken. They offered to send a plumber while we were staying there, but it was inconvenient so we opted for our rigged up system. One of the window handles was broken, and there is no AC so we were trying to manage the temperature with windows open. There is no permanent dehumidifier, it is a plug-in unit that we had to empty twice a day, but it worked. The downstairs was horrendously humid and musty when we arrived, it would’ve been nice if it would’ve been running before arrival. The deck was old and splintered, the umbrella had a big hole in it. The upstairs bed only had a couple of inches of clearance on either side and a slanted ceiling, so my 80-year-old parents had to crawl from the foot of the bed to the head of the bed to get in and out. There is another bed in the loft, but there are no curtains so the sun comes in at 6AM. There were appliances in the kitchen, but they were old and rusty. It’s beautiful, but at these prices we would not stay here again until these things are fixed.

Charming tri level home with sleeping quarters on all levels for privacy. Sunny home in quiet neighborhood with large yard and ocean views. Extremely well-equipped kitchen was a delight. Highly recommend and will hope for availability on our next trip to the area.

Our family, (local and out of state) had a fantastic stay at this peaceful home. Plenty of space, quiet location, well stocked home, with an amazing water view from upper deck and the numerous, large windows!
The owner was very helpful in meeting our special requests. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful weekend at Alison's beautiful home on Wamphassuc Pt. Very fun location with easy access to the beach and local trails for walking. Truly splendid view of the harbor with light pouring into the house throughout the day. Loved the Modern/Scandinavian decor! Morning yoga and coffee on the deck worked wonders. Also a trip to Mystic for Sunday brunch at The Oyster Club was delicious. Our crew, 2-families with teens, will definitely be back! Thank you!

We were restored by the tranquility and quiet of this beautifully unique house, tucked away in a peaceful setting with it's beautiful views of the water, spacious deck and yard. The host was welcoming, accomodating and available via email for any questions and information we needed. My family would return here without hesitation.

I just loved this place - such a comfortable vibe… everything we needed and great location for my whole group to get to what we needed. People are so friendly in this area!! Will definitely come back.

The house has great potential, unfortunately not to the average person’s upkeep. Both outdoor stairways had overhang from trees that we had to dodge every time we came in & out. The outdoor deck looks great from pics but definitely falling about…expect splinters in your shorts if you sit on the benches. Inside the coffee pot had moldy grounds left in it. Majority of the screens for the windows had rips or holes, some windows were broken; which wouldn’t be that big of a deal if there was a/c. My family was alright with no a/c, but expected to be able to open all windows & not worry about extra bugs getting in. I did say extra bugs…the house is infested with earwigs, especially the bottom bedroom & bathroom which made sleeping a joke when you have them in the bed too…tried sleeping with the lights on. The bottom bedroom was very musty smelling as well. I would recommend some tlc to make people’s stay enjoyable. Definitely needs some & an exterminator!

The house is close to several beautiful walk about towns. There are great restaurants everywhere. There are lots of things to see, ex. The Aquarium, the Seaport Museum, different lighthouses and more. The house is spacious everyone was comfortable, not bumping into each other. The yard is great for playing in. The view of the water is great. Relaxing on the porch with a book was a great way to spend a day. The kids (9 & 5) loved being there. The grownups did also.

Stunning Stonington
This was a very nice property, great views, large yard with zip line for the kids. The fans in the rooms definitely were needed. The 2 showers in the house had deep bathtubs, might be difficult for some to get in and out. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and the location was great!

Bright and beautiful home in a wonderful location
The house is a comfortable, sunny delight, with lovely views and neighborhood in a terrific location close to the charming towns of Mystic and Stonington. We were a group of 6 adults getting together for a weekend, and it was very well suited for our needs, and sharing bedrooms and walking through one bedroom to get to another were not issues for us. The house was great for communal meals and enjoying the outdoors and all that the neighboring towns have to offer. Really just lovely.

Beautiful location perfectly located near Mystic
We came and enjoyed a long weekend in what we were told was the Mystic off-season - it was hoping though ! Lots to do and see . My kids had a blast , There was a toy chest filled with treasures and the property brought endless enjoyment for my family to explore . In the morning the house fills with beautiful sunlight and the view was so peaceful . I highly recommend , and would love to visit again . It took just five minutes to drive into Mystic. The host was easy to communicate with and answered our questions in a timely fashion. Thanks for the much needed rest .

Weekend Getaway
Property was in great condition and just what you would expect of a quaint New England cottage. The hosts had fresh flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. This was a great touch and started the weekend off on a high note. The property was conveniently located for our Saturday plans to tour local breweries and sites.

Lovely, quiet, getaway
It's a lushly woodsy getaway, with water views, and an easy walk to a tiny, rocky beach where you can listen to the birds and watch sailboats launch. We didn't do much, the house was perfectly comfortable and accomodating. Showers are hard to step into if there's anyone with mobility issues. Otherwise, highly recommend.

Views, light, fun.
Everything was easy and comfortable, unique - like staying in a friends house. The deck was wonderful, our dog just wanted to watch the bunnies and squirrels and deer all day! We did use the zip line, and the kayaks - getting them to the shore is an effort but lovely paddling. All was clean and neat.

Perfect
We've been visiting Stonington for years, and this was, by far, the best and most relaxing trip ever. Alison's home is a treasure trove inside and out...the view, the grounds, the art, the books! The owners have provided everything one could possibly want...bikes, kayaks, boogie boards. It was perfect for our multi-generational family. Close to beaches and restaurants, but truthfully, we enjoyed staying in the most. It's a pretty magical place.

Even better than expected
The location, amenities and property were fantastic. Being at the house, with its water view and nearby walks, was part of our vacation. The family goes out of its way to make sure the experience is relaxing and it was. I love this house. Plenty of room and privacy. We had a small problem with the lock and called the caretaker, who responded immediately. Love this place.

The property was located in a quiet neighborhood and had wonderful views. We enjoyed time on the large deck overlooking the water and our children enjoyed the tree fort and zip line. Inside the house laid out well for our family and was very clean.

Beautiful spot!
The area, views, and spaces in the house were wonderful. Jorge and Alison were very responsive in trying to make our stay a pleasant one. Convenient to old Stonington and Mystic, but quietly tucked away in a lovely residential area. A restorative week!

Has it all!
This home is quiet and lovely. It has absolutely everything you will need including kitchen amenities and extras like kayaks and bikes. Feels like home. It is within a private community of houses on an inlet with lots of trees and privacy, a view of the water from the deck. I brought my dog, and there was lots of yard space as well as a mile or two road to walk with minimal traffic. The house is one of the cleanest I've stayed in!

Great home base for CGA graduation week
Our family of 5 stayed here for our son's graduation from the Coast Guard Academy in New London. The location was perfect - quiet and secluded, yet close to restaurants, grocery stores, and local attractions, and only about a 20-minute drive to the Academy. We really liked the vibe of the house - it's clearly a well-loved family home with great character (including a fascinating book collection). The beds are a bit hard, and the house does face east, so the upstairs area can be very bright in the mornings, but those aspects were more than offset by the spacious layout, multiple amenities, beautiful views, and very attentive communication from both the owners and the caretaker Jorge. Sadly, our busy graduation schedule didn't leave much time for biking or kayaking, but we all (ages 20-59) thoroughly enjoyed the zip line! If we're ever back in the area, we'll definitely stay here again.

Family Reunion
After 15 months apart my husband and I were finally able to visit with our daughter and her family. The Stonington beach house was the perfect place to do this. There was plenty of space and privacy for each family "unit", and comfortable common space to cook eat and visit. We were five minutes from a grocery store and the quaint village of Stonington. My grandson had a blast on the zipline and playing with his dog in the yard. Alison kindly left us a nice bottle of wine and some beautiful flowers. We would definitely come back and recommend this property.

Excellent location, great house!
We really loved this interesting home! The neighborhood is truly special and the location is very easy to get to The beautiful towns of Stonington, Mystic and Watch Hill. We loved walking to the beach, scrambling on the rocks there and the seaside view from the beach and the house. The house is a little run down and the mattresses just ‘ok’ but that was made up by the great vibe of the home with it’s fun floorplan, mid-century furniture and extensive book collection! The kitchen was tight but functional. The bathrooms were great and clean. The yard was great and we enjoyed seeing the red fox walk through it! This yard and house would be a great adventure for a child!

Peaceful and serene water views!
Very private and quiet setting with easy access to surrounding sites to explore. The home was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The views off the deck overlook Stonington Harbor with the Borough as a backdrop. We caught several spectator sunrises from the property. Very thoughtful touches as a bottle of wine and fresh flowers were waiting upon our arrival. Jorge, the caretaker was quite helpful, touching base with us prior to check in.
Thanks for sharing your home with us!

"The best vacation of my life" --10-year-old granddaughter
Wonderful for all the family. The yard was better than expected. Much larger and there is a zipline! Deck is huge. Beautiful, comfortable home. My granddaughters wanted to move there. Only wish there had been better light for reading.
