Great location in the heart of the city. Nice little terrace to sit outside. Nice artwork.
The bathroom door doesn't stay closed. The room hadn't been properly cleaned when we arrived (tootpaste residue in the mirror, dirty toilet, some trash on table). The shower head was leaking.

The location is good. Walkable distance to waterfront and near mall.
The room looks esthetic and the bed was nice 👍🏻
If u got hungover makesure to wake up before 8.30am since the shop downstairs will play music and might cause headache. However if u ok with it then no problem at all 👍🏻

Great location and the place has a lot of character. Good aircon in the room and complementary water was very helpful. Owner was helpful and very responsive. Easy self check in.
Sadly was just too noisy to be relaxed. Early wake up and loud music from nearby at night. Partly the nature of the central location and old building but also currently there are renovation works taking place in the property.
It was a real shame that the cafe was closed too!

I stayed in the Queen room without windows but with private bathroom for 5 out of 6 nights.
1) The location was the best and convenient to eateries, shopping and everything.
2) The bathroom and toilet was quite clean. Shower strong and hot at least in this room. I do not know about other rooms or the shared bathroom.
3) It was low season and most of the time no other tenants and overall quiet and peaceful.
4) Wifi was good.
1) Somebody walking up the stairs and along the corridor with stomping footsteps every morning at around 5:55am. When that somebody left, the front door was banged so strongly that the room shook. So I did not have a peaceful sleep each day. I found out I was actually sleep deprived when I went home.
2) Water leaking and making noise from the shower when other tenants were using water in other bathrooms. You can hear the water movement from the pipes. It leaks in the bathroom awoken me when sleeping.
3) Dusty floor and furnitures.
4) Bathroom/toilet door cannot be closed and will slide open by itself. Not convenient/unpleasant if you are staying with someone. Toilet seat cover will fall on your back once you sit.
5) Mosquitoes in the room on my first night which kept me awake from dusk to dawn. I had to get insect repellent spray to get rid of the mosquitoes every day and night. Make sure you don't keep the room door open for longer than a few seconds otherwise the mosquitoes will go in.
6) Don't expect any service unless you specifically ask for it. Even if you want to clear your rubbish bin you have to sometimes ask for it.
7) Unattended shop front and questhouse. Tenant has to report any incident to owner.

This guest house is in a great location close to the waterfront. The host is incredibly friendly and helpful. He provided many suggestions for activities and transportation. He even picked us up from the airport, as he was nearby. We were able to leave luggage on the day of our checkout before our late flight. Good AC, consistently hot water, great restaurant downstairs. Would happily stay here again.

The location. Easy check in. Easy check out. No hassle.

Good value for money and strategically located near the waterfront. Old house, probably a 100yo (but renovated!). Small terrasse at the back to have breakfast, kettle and coffee available inside the room. Café downstairs (same name but seems to be different owner). I recommend Indah café down the street for breakfast (vegetarian and vegan option). They also arrange day trips around Kuching!
The room hadn't been cleaned before our arrival (due to late check out of previous guests). We had to reach out to the owner on WhatsApp and cleaning was arrange while we were out. Still a big bummer. The staircase in the room (duplex) is ridiculously tiny and steep, I do not recommend with kids. It's a old house which means poor soundproofing, whether it's other guests in the corridor (luckily it was rather quiet during our stay), or the music from the café downstairs blasting though the wooden floor (from zen instrumental to pop music).

the room exceeded my expectations,

wonderful owner, I wish I met more people like him in my life :)

Room was small but fine
More mosquitoes than anywhere else, even in the jungle. Coordinating check in, payment etc because nobody is there was annoying

The location was strategic, I didn't need to walk more than 15 mins to almost every attraction in waterfront.
The owner manages cafe, so they'll start blasting music at 9am, if you plan to sleep in, then this is not a place for you. The owner can be over friendly which I didn't appreciate with some text he sent though he apologised after that.

nothing
-the owner very rude.
- booked another room but the owner give another room and ask to pay more.
- its hard to check in because you need to call the owner to get the pasword for door access and he very rude when answering the call.

It's location. Walking distance to the Waterfront, Thomas Cathedral church, Plaza Merdeka mall and Borneo Cultural Museum, to name a few. It's easy to hail public taxis and call Grab. Basic necessities provided. Clean and secure for female solo travellers. It's a small guesthouse consisting of 4 rooms. I stayed in the only room without an attached bathroom. Technically, the bathroom shares its space with the only balcony which is located at the end of the hall. CCTV cameras in strategic areas.
The only thing I did not like is the balcony at the end of the hall. It's lovely but it lacks privacy from neighbors' kitchen and laundry space. The solo traveler would need to be decently dressed to head to the bathroom attached.

The friendliness host and The location is fantastic you can get very well known famous local Chinese food , the latest sarawak museum Borneo cultural museum, Merdeka plaza, waterfront, open air hawker market within the walking distance
The room cleanliness can be improve. If you like to have a good sleep I’d recommend you for rooms behind to avoid the noisy vehicles during late night and early morning. There is one church nearby which will bell you every morning at 6am

At the center of the town
Aircond is not properly function. Most probably due to small hp unit

Everything. I love the environment. I will definitely pay for second visit if I travel alone next time. The host has changed my private room to a three-person room (attached with private bathroom) as the one I booked was under renovation but I was still the only guest in the room. Having my breakfast in the cafe before check in as I was reach quite early.
I think it's my personal problem which I couldn't sleep on soft mattress that will makes me backache. I heard other guest walking at night but it's not affect much.

Very comfortable and stylish. Excellent location! Very happy with having an en suite bathroom.
Creaky floorboards and thin walls
