Everything! Vium is a lovely host. The location is truly off the grid. The dogs and cats are lovely. I would give it an 11/10 if I could.

The setting was right out in the farmland area. Amazingly rural feeling.

Beautiful farm stay, peaceful out of the noises of town
I booked for 2 adults and 3 kids but on my host side it was showing only 2 adults and 1 kid.
We slept in the 3 bedroom mobilehome, we were fine sleeping with our kids in the same room that is what we want.
The water was a little bit cold because it wouldn't have heated enough both days we left in the morning before the sun can heat the water up perfectly

Everything was as advertised, so my expectations were (surprisingly) met. The host was most attentive, friendly and accommodating. I had such a pleasant stay. My only regret was the short stay (two nights).
There was nothing I did not like about my stay, the lodgings, the host and the surroundings. However, I was not aware that I had to bring my own towel. It would have been nice to know that upfront, but perhaps I just missed it at the time I had made my booking. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there, it was quite an experience!

Peace, quiet, away from the bright lights. Facilities were outstanding and so carefully thought out by the hosts. Plenty of little personal touches. Normal people, perfect location, the owners have created a small piece of calm and tranquility.
The fact that I was only there for one night.

Pristine facilities, super-helpful owner and staff, could not ask for a more comfortable, value for money, and tranquil getaway spot. I've been here twice now in different times of the year and if anything my experience here the second time was even better. Wium is informative, resourceful and extremely amicable. Whether taking a leisurely stroll through the veld or chilling by the fire soaking up the sunset is your thing: Nature's rest epitomizes its name.

Location is beautiful and serene, you can walk for kilometers safely and watch zebra and springbok. An inspiration for artists. Host is engaging and makes sure you have whatever you need.
I will definitely return.

This farm hostel is very quiet, the shared kitchen can be used alone, the spacious yard is big enough for dogs, the bed and pillows are super comfortable and room is very spacious and well worth a second visit,It should be noted that the hostel currently only accepts cash payment.

The owners are awesome and they know the area and the whole of SA very well. The area is beautiful. I stayed in a cosy caravan with a perfect matrass close to the bathroom and kitchen. The place is very clean, there are nice hikes you can do and if lucky you can spot zebras and ostriches.

Proper karoo experience with sheep dog and animals everywhere and place to explore. Host was amazing and very friendly. Definitely recommended.
No close by shops for foods however Wium was a life saver and sold us some food he had extra of.

Fantastic that I was allowed to walk around the farm and see the evidence of millions of years of Earth history when the Karoo was an inland sea, and thin layers of sediment was deposited, and now sits on a 85° angle, with trace fossils of the still primordial wetland...
Zebras and springbok are the myriad, of uniquely Karoo fynbos, with the unique fresh scent in the air.
The bright Karoo starlight makes the winter night priceless. Even though I slept in the caravan, I enjoyed a king's view of the night sky.
Far enough out from the maddening crowd, yet near enough to all the tourists attractions in the cities and towns nearby.
Probably nice to bring your mountain bike, and rest at one of the many picnics tables in the veld.
Lula, the friendly sheep dog went out walking with me, and we had many adventures.
Unfortunately the low rumbling sound is not the owners pet tame lion, but the distance ostriches. (No lions here)

The host was very friendly and welcoming. He went the extra mile to make our stay really nice.
An ideal stopover place for any sporty adventurers.

Wonderful location, probably one of the quietest, unspoiled and amazing beauties I've experienced in my life. As two young travelers from Portugal we were overwhelmed by this place. And the owner spoiled us, so nice and welcoming. We were just passing by as we're doing the whole country on limited time but we decided to stay another night. A hidden gem. If we ever come to South Africa again we won't go without coming back.
Nothing not to like.
