Isunga Lodge is unbelievable. For the price, I've never stayed in a better place anywhere in the world. I say that without exaggeration. My fiancé and I stayed in another lodge a week after Isunga that was 5x more expensive, and we were missing Isunga the entire time. The food, the staff, the location, the solitude, the quality of the accommodations far exceeded expectations.
Anyone in the area planning a trip to Kibale (or surrounding areas) would be lucky to stay here. Best value for money we had in our entire trip in Africa across multiple countries. What a lovely place.
Zero complaints.

the location is perfect.
the staff was very friendly and helpful.
the food is delicious ; the best dishes we had in Africa so far.
we really felt like we were at the comfort of our home.
they have hot water in the shower.

Absolutely stunning place to stay. Incredible service and the owners are very friendly. Would recommend to anyone visiting ughanda to stay here for part of their trip. Oh and the food was probably the best of all the places we stayed as well.

The food at this place is amazing! I had the best pumpkin soup at dinner. The shakshuka at breakfast was also delicious. The beds are very comfortable and rooms quite spacious and clean. The owners and staff are friendly. The area is very quiet as expected with privacy for each room. very relaxing with a beautiful view of the forest. A nice place to slow down and unwind if you’re looking for a quiet place in nature.
The lodge is remote and as such is a bit of a drive from the town.

Location: unique in the middle of a hill top jungle, great for walks
Views: breathtaking, over a valley
Privacy: 100%
Design: sustainable, comfortable, cosy, simple
Comfort: sufficient, there was hot water, the bed was comfy and big, the walk up the hill did not bother us (but we stayed only one night)
Staff/service: amazing, proactive, attentive
Food: delicious, including vegetarian options
Some suggestions:
A water cooker in the room would be great, especially for stays that are longer than one night
A cafe latte (barista style) on the menu would make the place even more perfect
The home made musli is delicious, I would love to buy it from your shop
Nothing that we did not like and would need to mention here

Everything was perfect, just perfect. Very welcoming owners, very friendly and capable staff, beautiful scenery, amazing room. It just ticks all the boxes.
Better make sure you are trained for some steps down to your room and up to the restaurant!

Incredible views

This is a beautiful place with a stunning few from the dining terrace! You feel the african spirit with an european management! Each room is a private bungalow with its own view and well designed interior. Adding to that the lodge also supports local producers and its a really green place with many local plants. A place to come back! Thank you to Karen and Gerry for having us and your help with the car ;)

Everything was perfect. The views and the location are astonishing. The owners and the personnel are very nice. Everything is very clean.
The bathroom does not offer much privacy, as it is isolated just by a curtain.

An amazing hidden gem, with a stunning view, super comfy rooms and tasty food. The staff was super nice and the overall atmosphere extremely serene & relax.

Very calm and clean. Decorated and run with a lot of attention and heart. Extremely attentive and well trained staff. Breakfast options are various, lunch and dinner can be recommended as both are always very very good. Free tea and coffee during the whole stay.
Sun beds and a small clean swimming pool available to relax.
If you want to visit all the 9 crater lakes nearby ask the hosts for the contacts of Noah (Greater Lake Tours). We enjoyed the 5 hour walk very much.
Nothing. Everything was spot on. We even decided to stay an extra night!

Excellent kitchen. Superior view. Very friendly staff. Close to Kinabale Chimp Trecking. Lot of private space.

Me and my husband stayed for 3 nights in the beautiful Isunga lodge during our honeymoon and we loved every second of it. Not sure what is was that made them stand out this much; The stunning views; the absolutely lovely and very skillful staff, the amazing food (would highly recommend the full board option here), the recommendations for activities and guides in the area or the friendly couple that runs the place.
All together it made for an exquisite stay with great value for money. Can’t recommend enough!

Amazing view from the entire property. Very lovely and friendly owners. We had to cut the trip short by one day due to travel plan change and we received understanding and support. Big thanks!

This place is wonderful! The rooms and lounge are very spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The food is good and the views to Kibale forest down below even better. Highly recommended.
I specifically asked for a double bed, and was a bit disappointed to have gotten two single beds joined together instead. Very minor compared to all the great stuff about this place ;)

Peaceful location with incredible views from main terrace. Room is clean and beautifully decorated. Food is very good and breakfast is a must. Service is nice and discreet, making you feel very comfortable. Though on holidays, Karen organized everything for us (transfers, permits) and even managed for me to have my glasses (which i forgot in the room) back to Queen Elizabeth park where we were next.
Not to have stayed longer!
Also making all our next accomodations in Uganda look disappointing in comparison!

Wow, this place is truly exceptional and totally worth the money. Everything was perfect - breakfast, dinner, views, beds, even nice selection of Scotch whisky. Also owners and really friendly and helpful, they helped us organize chimpanzee tracking and community walk around the lakes nearby. One of the best places I’ve ever been to.

Spectacular view. Lovely location and quite easy to get to from Fort Portal even by local transport. Karen and Gerard , the owners, were super helpful and friendly. Great food. Beautiful private cottages. Best place I stayed in Uganda.
Didn’t like having to leave 😞

Absolutely loved this place! Honestly, I wish I could live here. The cottages are so beautiful and the views around the lodge and cottages are just spectacular. This place is very inviting and relaxing. The owners are so sweet and were a delight to talk to and get to know. The staff were also very friendly. Food was very good. Fixed menu dinners are well thought out and delicious. I definitely recommend staying here! The lodge also helps arrange activities and helped us get our Chimp Tracking Permit!
Sad we didn't stay longer.
