Place is amazing. Good atmosphere created by the owners and the staff girls who work in the place. Shared areas are really comfortable and you can both enjoy time for yourself such as sharing a nice conversation with other guests. Plenty of people from all over the world, Fujitaya added really something to our Kyoto stay. Rooms were simple and nice, and shared toilets and showers were so clean and comfortable that you forget are shared! We will return for sure when in Kyoto. The place also offer many services from laudry to kitchen use. We, as bikers, loved the bike rental service!

Saki and Masa are so accommodating and friendly. They allowed us to do early check in. Staff were kind and charming. It was fun chatting with them. Rooms and common areas are clean and comfy. The design is beautiful.

Kind hosts, clean room and great common area. The best hostel-like atmosphere we met in Japan

Lovely, warm and welcoming accommodation. Much better than expected.
The kitchen and communal area are large and encourage socialising but the rooms are big enough to have quiet time if you choose. We had a family room which had plenty of space.
My bed was very hard but the other 3 were nice.

Toller Hostel-Vibe.

Very friendly. Was a great place to interact with the owners and other guests and learn more about Japan. Also loved hiring the bikes and riding through Kyoto.

Excellente auberge !

We really liked the overall concept! The hostel had everything you'd need - friendly owners and staff, lots of chances to meet new people, a fully equipt kitchen and the chance to rent bikes (which we did and we absolutely loved it!).
We had the oportunity to engage in an international event (a takoyaki party to be exact) and it was probably one of the highligts of our trip to Japan. <3

The Fujitaya BnB truly feels like a home away from home! And for a solo traveler like myself, offers the opportunity to meet and get to know other travelers too. 😊 The accommodations are simple but very comfortable and the shared showers/baths were immaculately clean. In fact, the entire place was immaculately clean. The hosts are also lovely and speak excellent English. I hope go back soon!
It’s a bit far from the main train station (for me), but one could easily get there using buses/trains with a decent understanding of the public transit system or a cab.

The futons were super comfortable!! Bathrooms and Shower room were very clean and nice to use! Host was very nice and upgrade our room for us for free. We also had to check in late after 9pm and notify him late notice but the host was very flexible and help us check in late after 9pm. It was slightly far from the attractions we wanted to visit but it wasn’t a big concern to us. Overall, This place is a gem in Kyoto and I would totally recommend to everyone who’s visiting!

The hosts were lovely and it felt very homely staying there with the family and little boys running around. Not too far from Kyoto station. There is a nice lounge area with floor seating and although we didn't use it, there offer rentals on exercise shoes and bikes.
It may have been us but we didn't see any yoga and were not mentioned it. We didn't want to seem rude so didn't ask but it was okay as we just went sightseeing instead. It is a minimal room but the area to put your suitcase was quite small so we did struggle to get two medium size suitcases on there when opened as it was not allowed on the mat since it would damage it. We could only open it one at a time which wasn't too much of a fuss.

Excellent facility with helpful hosts. A really great welcoming feeling with the shared kitchen and loungeroom. Helpful maps and conversations. Good location.

Felt like staying with friends. Very nice owners. The place is newly renovated and everything is done in a very thoughtful way. The common room is a great place to play for kids, and for adults to connect with other travelers and the owners. The kitchen has everything to eat and cook. Great place for children since the owners children have lots of toys they share with visiting kids.

Small but comfy rooms with futons. I was able to sleep comfortably even though I'm quite tall (196cm/6'5"). The hosts were very friendly and helpful in showing us where we could go. Renting bikes was cheap and they were comfortable to ride for long hours. Biking around made it much easier to see the sites. Good communal vibe with formal events to meet other guests as well as spontaneous hang outs in the evenings in the common room. Overall a lovely stay and would come back if ever revisiting Kyoto

Lovely traditional Japanese home with futon beds.
Really friendly and very clean .
Some instructions to catch a bus from Kyoto Station would have been good as the 205 stopped almost outside and the taxi driver had real trouble finding it.

Lovely friendly family really went out of there way to make you feel welcome. Excellent kitchen facilities, bike hire, local info, and yoga perfect way to start the day.

The kitchen and dining area is like a personal living room. The atmosphere is very kind and personal if you want it. I had great conversations with other guests and the owners until late in the night. I learned a lot about daily Japanese life.

I loved the homeliness and the possibility to rent a bike and practice a yoga session with the owner.

Excellent host and location. The guesthouse gives a perfect definition of homestay and show us the genuine hospitality of Japanese hosts. We booked during new year period, and masa & saki did everything they can to make sure we feel at home: Everyone (and I mean everyone) at the guesthouse went for hatsumode on the new year's eve night; Saki make excellent mochi for the new year's celebration and even surprise us with an apple pie as our (belated) wedding gift. What a sweet couple.
Should we choose to visit kyoto again, we may just book this place. the level of hospitality is impeccable.
We stayed here too short.
