The apartment is an old wine house which has more than 200 years old and the king and queen had lived there before. The location is great, a 5min walk to the town center. The gradma who served in the hotel is very friendly and nice. If I go to Sintra next time, I will go to this guest house again. The decoration is antique.
It doesn't provide breakfast if you need it, you should pay 13 Euro, which is too expensive in Portugal price. The facilitate of the toilet is too old, if it can be renewed, it would be better.

The location was perfect. The hotel has an old-world charm to it and is within short walking distance of everything in town, as well as to the Quinta da Regaleira. The staff was extremely cheerful and helpful, especially Dulce and our online contact, María. Other staff members, who did not really speak English or Spanish, did a great job of finding ways to communicate with and help us. Arriving after office hours, we were worried about checking in, but it was easy to find the lockbox and get our keys. Our room for three people was extremely spacious. Another plus was the wonderful Italian restaurant right below the hotel.
The handle to switch the water to the overhead shower was broken so you could only use the handheld shower to bathe. The room, bathroom, and hotel are a bit worn.
If you are arriving by train, have suitcases, and have any mobility issues, maneuvering the mosaic sidewalks to the hotel (about 15 minutes) could be a bit tricky. In this case, I would recommend getting an Uber or taxi.

The location was convenient
the wifi didn’t work
the soundproof between rooms is TERRIBLE. The guest next door had a dog which walked around all night and with its paws on the wooden floor, made a lot of noise. I could hear the neighbour plugging things into the plug, walking, on the toilet etc. at all hours of the night/morning. I barely had any sleep!!

Location
Did not have breakfast although we had in reservation. No availability of breakfast anywhere when we left in the morning

central location, very nice staff
The shower smelled because of suspected mold under it. (there is a wooden floor in the bathroom)
Not soundproof. You can hear an alarmclock or simple whispers from next rooms.

We liked it very much, good location, clean rooms, staff very friendly and helpful, good value for money, and definitely on our next visit to Sintra this hotel it’s going to be our first option…
We had a problem with the location of our room as it was located on the top floor and we could hear pigeons very early in the morning and it did disturb our sleep, and after asking the staff to change rooms we were allocated one floor bellow and no more noises were heard also the management told us the problem would be resolved and I truly believe it will be…

loved the staff!

The location is perfect, next to the hotel Lawrence and the building is beautiful. The staff is also helpful and extremely friendly.
Sadly, my first floor room was noisy, had ants and black mold. The bed was ok, but not the best. I didn’t sleep well at all, which is the reason for my poor rating, overall. Hopefully, other rooms are nicer than what I had

The room was very nice ... the entire place is like a very quaint country inn with multiple houses... The location was very convenient to everything and very safe to get around...
So breakfast was not included even though it was in the information... apparently, they have 2 types of guest reservations, the people in the main house have breakfast included ... They charged us an additional 20 Euros for breakfast each day and it was served outside of the main breakfast room ...
The place was pretty good ... getting there was a bit of a struggle as the place is located in a non-public transportation zone so the taxis just drop you off outside of the zone .... this I felt should have been in the reservation writeup to let guests know what to expect as opposed to paying 20 euros for a short ride and still have to walk a mile to the place...

Dulce, the Hostess, is absolutely wonderful! The location was great, too!
There wasn't a fridge in the room. You can't just walk into Reception. You have to knock and have someone open the door if they are there.

The location was great and the staff were very welcoming. Definitely a value for money.
The wooden floor in the bathroom wasn't a good choice as there was mould everywhere, maybe tiles would be as better choice?!

Great location and very friendly staff. Room was very big and we had a lovely shower. Water provided in the room was much appreciated. The price was also very good for the location and quality of the room.
There was music outside until 2am and as we were on the very top floor we could hear birds on the roof early in the morning.

The decoration and the commodities were simply the best. They have rabbits in the garden and they let you feed them!
Our shower didn’t work… which was a shame because everything else was superb.

Great location in the historical city center, walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. Very safe area.
Wished for more towels in the room (although provided when asked for)

Big room with plenty of space and nice bathroom. Centrally located to everything: Peña, Mouros, restaurants and everything .
We arrived at 2am in the morning and there was the girls to open our room! Thanks a lot!
Nothing! Everything was perfect!
Even though answer via mail was fast, I would have appreciated to have a telephone to call and speak with owner. Otherwise as mentioned, nothing that we did not like it 😊

Location was fantastic. Room very comfortable. Staff were great.
No lift if you need one. No problem for us but if you have issues maybe a problem.

- well located
- friendly staff
- comfy beds
- good windows
- clean
- property has character
- house needs generally a renovation ( e. g. ceilings in hallway have mould and open cracks
- walls are thin like paper/no privacy
- AC was broken and we had 35 degrees during the day
- we were hardly able to lock the room (even the staff didn’t manage to show us how to lock the room). On the second day we broke the key while trying and had to leave the door unlocked
- on the first night there was a water damage on the floor below and the edges of our shower also looked like water would escape on a regular base
- WiFi in our room was not working at all

Staff are friendly and accommodating. Available to answer questions. Made you feel at home. Rooms are charming and spotless. Walking distance to restaurants, shops and trails. Only place I would consider staying if I returned to Sintra.

The location is great. The rooms are very pretty.
It could be a bit cleaner. You could clearly see that the corners of the bathroom where not clean and there were hairs/dust left on some place when we arrived the room.
4.5 / 5.0
location, clean and spacious
no breakfast options nearby until after 9:30am and bathrooms had water problems but livable
1.0 / 5.0
Room was initial clean and normal size
Shower had good water temoerature
Getting a key to room took several phone calls as line was busy.
The room filled with ants all over bed, floor and windows. They vacumn and put some chemical down but it was a bit crazy with the ants swarming everywhere.
No coffee in room and no breakfast for 102 euros expected breakfast or coffee maker. No refrig in room either.
When i booked i sent 3 emails asking for ground floor i was informed on arrival booking picked room on 3rd floor so much for sending emails to booking and to property. They did change room which was nice as i couldnt have walked up all those flights. After just getting onto property was a steep, slippery, cobblestone path with a 70% pitch...damgerous unless your a goat.
