Spacious room and delicious breakfast. I liked the location just outside of the main parts but within 10-15 minute walk. Was a great stay for my 1 night in Gwangju.
Nothing

Very nice room and good shower
The women running the guesthouse more or less on her own might need some more support. She had to handle everything on her own with 2 young kids.
But she really gave it her best and was very friendly.

Very cute place in a quiet and artsy neighbourhood of Gwangju, with a decent selection of good restaurants nearby. Korean breakfast was tasty.
The hostess could have been a bit friendlier, but perhaps this was because she didn't speak English well.

We had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse! Everything went smoothly, the room was super clean and cozy, and everything was a walking distance away. would definitely recommend.
4.3
Great location and clean.
No bedlinen, and very rude host
4.3
Cery clean and comfortable place. Good location to explore Gwangju. The host is friendly. Laundry service is available! Very authentic experience :)
Check in was strange. Nobody was there and we had to call but after some minutes Ari came. The waiting time was not a big issue but I expected some information about the guesthouse/breeakfast time etc. but probably this was due to language barrier.
Korean breakfast was interesting and a new experience but the food was not fresh and some vegetables were not washed.

Clean, cozy and quiet place. Bed was comfortable and the room had a decent size. Host is super nice and helpful. The Korean breakfast is really good. Location is great - lots of cafes and restaurants around. Metro is a short 10 minute walk away.
The check-in was a bit confusing as there is no reception per se. There is a number to call on the monitor in the hall, then Ari will be there in like a minute. :-)

Nice interier. Nice breakfast
WiFi not reliable. Transparent doors in toilet and bathroom. Cockroach. 2nd deck of bed is too low so it's impossible to sit on a lower one
4.3
Comfy bed, clean bathroom, delicious breakfast with Gwangju specialty soup.
The hostess was not always there and it was hard to contact staff like when I needed the WiFi or wanted to ask where to put my luggage. However, she was lovely and kind, just sometimes difficult to find.

traditional Korean style breakfast. Very tasty.

Big house. Quite but convenient location. Good lounge.
In off season, it feels not much caring is being taken.

We didn't know that "futons" meant sleeping on the floor with a very small mattress. We had accidentally booked this since we were a group of 3. When we arrived we were surprised and asked to change rooms if possible. The staff were very understanding and were able to switch rooms which we really appreciated. The room we were switched to was spacious and clean, would recommend if you plan to stay in Gwangju.
The check-in process was a little strange, there wasn't really a lobby and we waited a while until someone greeted us in the stairs and we then had to pay cash for our stay. I would prefer to have the option to pay by card.

We really enjoyed our stay a lot. As we traveled in off-season, the owners even upgraded our room without any extra cost! The owner was very kind and helpful; nice breakfast was made and we were able to put our bags in the accommodation before we could check into our room. The accommodation was also only about a 20 minute walk from the archives and culture center of Gwangju, and really close to the cute Penguin village!
Non-koreans staying here needs to know that you can only pay in cash if you don't have access to Korean ways of paying, at least when booking through Booking.com

All.
No USB socket in the room.

The room was good. The bath was fine too.
It was too hot. The heating was turned all the way up it seemed. Also they wanted cash, which was not mentioned anywhere previously.
4.3
The host was really really friendly and kind to me. She helped me to make breakfast (which was free and tasty). I stayed alone in a four-beds room which also has a bathroom in it.
I wish overall condition of the facility be a little bit better.

noise from the top floor

I was a bit surprised when they asked me to do dishes. I thought if it's prepared by the host, we don't have to do dishes while the dishwasher has many stuff (which make me a bit confused with the sponge etc). If the menu mostly cereal or toast and we do it by ourselves i dont mind do it just like in other hostel asked in advanced. No hard feeling the food is good tho'

Location is very good.

Very good hospitality! And located in a good location for female travellers! Recommended!😊

The Korean breakfast was big and hearty, lots of food to eat. The owner's mother was nice. Kitchen facilities downstairs were good - accessible to free water. Bed was a little creaky but somewhat comfortable.
The check-in process - very informal; we were told to come back after 3pm and when we did, there was no one around to let us know what was going on. We waited an hour to be told what our room was after I had messaged the owner.
4.3
The hosts were very nice and accommodating, the Korean breakfast was tasty and enough for me, as well as a couple of complimentary oranges/mandarins. Although I only stayed one night in the lovely city of Gwangju (somewhere I had been before) but the hosts made me feel welcome and even managed to 'upgrade' my room. We also discussed certain aspects and issues relating to Korea. The husband designed most of the building himself, I believe.
The area is perfectly located, especially if you want to visit the Penguin Village ('Mullae' area), and the 'Comfort Woman' statue there... as well as at least one Gwangju 5:16 / Uprising museum nearby. A few, newly opened coffee outlets too. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting Gwangju.
I wasn't sure if there was heating but it turned out that the switch was behind the giant Hello Kitty teddy bear in the room.

The owner, the private room bathroom, the cleanliness
the check-in procedure

The most comfy bed I ever slept on during my 3 weeks S. KOREA trip! Owner is so friendly and nice.
A little bit far from bus or subway station. Although is just 10min walk away.
4.3
Nice and family-style place in a peaceful area of the city. The owner is very helpful and friendly. The room was very nice also.
Good value for the price.

The location is great. The walk to the downtown area is around 15 minutes. There's lots of restaurants nearby. The beds were comfy.
The questionable cleanliness... that you might not notice. I arrived and there were 4 beds and I thought one of the bottom bunks was occupied because the blanket was spread over the bed while the top bunks had the pillow and blanket stacked neatly. However, a new girl checked in and she had to take that bed since it was the only one left. The next day she checked out and a new girl came but the bed looked EXACTLY the same! The hostel had not cleaned that bed!
We weren't given new towels, the used towels that I left by the door weren't taken, the trash bin was overflowing, and the bathroom wasn't cleaned.

Location was quite good. Not far from bus stop and metro. Penguin village and the tower is just around the corner.
So, where should I start… The guest house doesn’t have a reception, so when I arrived I didn’t really know how to check in. After a few “hellos” a woman appeared and said “what?” I told her I had a booking and then she asked for my name, she didn’t understand what I said so I repeated it three times until she just said “Pay”. She then just showed me the room and I noticed that 2 beds seemed occupied but only luggage from one person seemed to be there. This bed stayed like that until the next day when the sheets didn’t seem to have been changed and a new girl arrived for that bed who stayed only one night and then the sheets have again! neither been changed and not even folded so when the second new girl arrived she needed to sleep in a bed which hadn’t been neither cleaned nor tidied up!!!
We didn’t get fresh towels, there was hair and an unclean bathroom for days. The bins were piling up and there was no toothpaste. The washing basin was separated from the toilet so it was quite annoying wandering from one room to the other to wash hands.
About the friendliness: I neither felt welcomed nor comfortable. The family seems to live on the third floor, and I felt like an annoying intruder. I once wanted to fill up my water bottle and needed to pass by the whole family in the kitchen and they were turning away when I passed by. I didn’t get any recommendations about what to do or how the guest house works. I got laughed at when I said “good morning” in Korean. Maybe I’m too sensible but female solo travelers are alone and thousands of km away from their home countries. We don’t need something like this. I felt quite uneasy during my stay and wouldn’t recommend it.
