Immersion dans la jungle à seulement quelques kilomètres de la ville, loin du tumulte de Bocas.
Hôtes accueillants ayant opté pour un mode de vie atypique.

Really smooth stay.
You're literally in the jungle. That means sloth, monkeys and tucanos are your direct neighbours. The cabins are well made and follow a good concept.
The hosts are very friendly and have a ton of information about the area. 100% recommendation

Excellent, down-to-earth stay in the jungle but close to the surf spots. Great and caring hosts that showed us around and helped us when we had questions. The place is really unique, spacious and has all that‘s needed - and not a bit more - and is super well thought through.
Nothing at all.

We enjoyed our time at the Jungle Paunch.
It was great to relax on the terrace and watch monkeys climbing in the trees.
For a tree house in the Jungle, it was surprisingly clean. We had no animals in the room except for a geko. There were enough kitchen utensils. Some fruit and 2 beers were free. Drinking water was available. Since it was filtered rainwater, it had a different taste. For 5$ you can wash and dry clothes. Unfortunately there was no hot water in the shower.
We were not lucky with the weather and it often rained from evening to morning. So it was cold in the night. Due to the humidity, clothes/towels/swimsuits never really got dry. But Maxi offered us to use the dryer. Because of the tin roof the rain was very loud. There were also some noisy neighbors nearby. Therefore we recommend earplugs.
There are no supermarkets in the area, so you should shop groceries in Bocas town.
The waves were too strong to go into the water near to the Jungle Paunch. We found a place 30 minutes walk towards Bocas town where the water was quiet and where you could swim.
Maxi and Jane are great hosts. If you have any questions or requests you can reach them by WhatsApp or in person in the neighbour house.

The location is exceptional. Just a few steps into the jungle but you feel like you're somewhere completely remote in the jungle. The huts are super clean and spacious. If you book it, plan at least one day to spend a full day just in or rather infront of the hut. You'll get the full jungle entertainment incl. monkeys, sloths, various birds, bats.
The hosts are really welcoming and helpful with tips and stories from their jungle life. Thanks for the awesome stay :-)
The bed was a bit too hard for our taste. But that's pretty individual.

The location is amazing, nestled in the trees and walking distance to wonderful beaches
Nothing, it was just perfect

The location is perfect for those seeking some isolation and an authentic feeling of being in the jungle. It remains very close to beaches and walking distance to local restaurants. The owner of the place is incredibly nice and attentive to all the guests' needs.

The Jungle Paunch is the perfect place to stay in Bocas del Toro. The little houses in the trees are lovely and the furniture (build by the owner) and decoration is so nice. The owners are more than friendly and have great advices for the hole island. It was a wonderful stay.

No breakfast included. However, coffee is provided. Hosts are great-very helpful. It is an eco-lodge so you are responsible for taking away your refuse.
Perhaps a sign on the market n road indicating where to turn. (Taxi from town is about 6km and can run $12-$15. There are lots of taxis going both directions- just flag one down.

Beautiful interior with a cofortable bed and well equipped kitchen. Internet was also good!
Also the mosquito net around the bed was good and necessary. Make sure to bring good repelent. You will need it!!!
The host is also very welcoming.
The location is great, If you have a bicycle. Unfortunately the bikes at the property were not in best shape. We still managed to ride all the way to the northern tip of the Island - definitly recommended. But the Bikes really need some love, because renting is only possible in town. You can get electric Bikes for 7usd an hour nearby though. Was too expensive for us though

We stayed at Jungle Paunch for over a week and it was amazing and unique!! The cabins are in the jungle so it feels private and secluded, but you are also right by the beach and near a popular surf spot. In the jungle, you see and hear the monkeys and birds and bugs, and you can spot wildlife from your balcony or down by the huge old tree on the property. Maxi and Jane are the kindest hosts and have the best recommendations for island life, food, surf, diving etc. The property also had bikes, which were free to use, and were super useful for getting around and exploring the island. We hope to come back soon!

Living in what was essentially a treehouse in the middle of the jungle was amazing! Jane made us feel right at home, especially with the cute little welcome sign when we checked in. The facilities had all you could ask for, everything was super clean and most importantly a good mosquito net for nights. It was an incredible experience being able to cook and eat breakfast sitting and enjoying nature, just walking out onto the balcony and catching sights of colourful birds, anteaters and monkeys every now and then.
A couple of bits of advice:
- Make friends with the taxi drivers. This enables you to make arrangements over whatsapp for pickup-drop offs (the property is quite far from the main town). Also sometimes they'll tell you interesting tidbits of info about Bocas, and even drive you past places known for being wild animal sightseeing spots!
- Bring earplugs because the Monkeys can get loud!

Our stay at Jungle Paunch was fantastic! The cabins are so so nice. Beautifully and well thought through. The owners Maxi and Jane are lovely people. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of the town and near playa Bluff.
