Exceptional Stay

The Sunsetter was perfect! We loved our big room, comfy bed, terrace with views overlooking the water. Sally and Mike are great and there to help with everything. They even let us borrow their kayak one day. The breakfast was amazing! Would definitely recommend staying here!

One of the highlights of our RTW trip

This place has been one of the highlights on our 4 month round the world trip. The location on the water, amazing friendly and helpful hosts, delicious breakfast, often with home made bread/bagels, cheap laundry, opportunity to use complimentary kayaks, SUPs, bikes, snorkelling etc, the room decor and the balcony… everything was amazing and we have nothing bad to say about this place. We would definitely go back next time we’re in Bocas. You can’t beat being able to jump in the water from the house whenever you want. The view is also amazing. Sally and Mike had loads of great recommendations for trips and dining and were very quick and responsive on WhatsApp

Perfect stay near Bocas town!

I honestly never get around to leaving reviews for accommodation since I travel loads and spend about half my time sleeping in hotels etc, but I really had to make the effort to do so for this place! I honestly think where you stay in Bocas could make or break your experience and we were SO happy we found The Sunsetter! Sally and Mike were the best hosts and everything is thought out with such care and detail. The place is out of the backpacker-vibe part of Bocas - but still an easy 20 mins walk or cheap taxi ride away, which we appreciated for the ease of coming and going, meals etc, rather than staying in a more remote area. But despite the closeness to the main town it feels like another world! also they have a relationship with a tour operator that will pick you up from there by boat, making it super easy and convenient to explore further afield without going into the main town. We stayed 4 nights which I would say is a minimum, and we could have easy stayed more. If we come back to Panama, we will definitely be back!

Lovely stay

Sally and Mike are great hosts. The breakfast they make is delicious. House is so lovely aquipped with such a taste and it is just above the water. We've got a honeymoon room with our own terrace. The house was sparkles clean. They give you bikes to go to Bocas town or even kajak. Totally great stay with big recommendations.

Fantastisch verblijf !!

We hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad! Prachtige locatie aan het water, mooi en knus ingericht B&B van binnen, en een geweldige kamer (ruim, schoon, gezellig, en een enorm balkon met mooi uitzicht). Het ontbijt was iedere dag anders en heel lekker. Sally en Mike zijn heel gastvrij, ze geven je veel tips en je kan ze altijd vragen stellen als je ze ziet (of via Whatsapp). Ik raad het aan iedereen aan!

Flitterwochen auf Panama

Wir haben bereits nach kurzer Zeit beschlossen, unseren Aufenthalt bei Mike und Sally zu verlängern, da dort einfach alles passt. Wir wurden von den beiden wirklich perfekt verpflegt. Das Frühstück, das Mike jeden Tag gezaubert hat, war hervorragend und beide standen uns wirklich immer mit Tipps, Rat und Tat zur Seite und haben uns auch wirklich viele Empfehlungen für Aktivitäten und Restaurants in Bocas, aber auch für unsere Weiterreise gegeben. Wir würden immer wieder bei den beiden übernachten

Tolles B&B in ruhiger Lage

Die Unterkunft hat alles was man braucht und noch vieles mehr Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, Sally und Mike sind tolle Gastgeber und geben tolle Tipps :) Das Frühstück ist sehr sehr gut, und vor Ort gibt es Fahrräder, Kanus, etc. was man sich ausborgen kann Es ist sehr ruhig, und liegt direkt am Wasser, sie bieten auch einen Kontakt zu einem Tourunternehmen an und man wird dann direkt mit dem Boot vom B&B abgeholt, was super ist ☺️ Wir würden auf alle Fälle wieder dort übernachten

Out of town location with a beautiful view

Breakfast was good. Staff are very helpful. Bikes, canoes and paddle boards are available.

Aircon hardly worked and was extremely noisy. Our room had 3 aircon fans on the outside of the wooden wall, which made it impossible to sleep. If it was just our aircon fan making noise, we could've switched the aircon off, but other room aircon fans were also attached at the same place, making our bedroom wall vibrate all night.

Best stay of our two month LATAM tour

We liked everything. The location was serene,, the room is beautifully decorated, the breakfast was muy delicioso, but Sally and Mike are unbelievable as hosts. Super friendly and very helpful. Their communication is top notch and they have a range of facilities and recommendations for guests.

Amazing B&B over the water in Bocas del Toro!

The hosts, Sally and Mike, were great! Very helpful, kind, and the breakfast was fantastic. The location on the water is beautiful, and I got out in their kayak to check the area out. When you are walking up to the B&B you need to remember this is a typical Bocas del Toro local neighborhood. They do have some sweet cats, and that was a plus for us. Highly recommend!

sunsets will never feel the same after you visit!

Sally and Mike have created a beautiful space with everything you need on this chilled island. they have kayaks (double + singles), SUPs, snorkeling equipment, water hammocks and a large waterfront terrace for you to indulge!! we loved the personal and delicious breakfast they prepared daily. they are great hosts, know their way in town and have tips for all you might need.

best place for relaxing

we felt very welcome in Sallys and Mike accomodation. The house is located directly in the sea where you can swim, relax or rent a kajak for free. We could check in early and enjoyed a fresh a tasty breakfast every day. Even fresh drinking water is for free. The bus stop is just a short walk away. The rooms are clean, very comfortable and has their own balcony. We would definitivley stay there again.

Lovely stay and would recommend highly to anyone traveling to Bocas!

The B&B was super with the location in the bay making it super quiet. Wonderful breakfast each day and good conversation with owners and other guests. Kayaks were very fun and snorkeling by the house was an added bonus.

Exceptional

The accomodation is super nice, as are the owners. They make breakfast everyday, they give you advise on whatever you need, you can even book some tours on other islands with them. The location is 30 min on foot from the center, or you can take a taxi (very cheap). All rooms are beautifully decorated and they have a terrace. Also, it is so quiet there! We loved it!

The water presure and usage are limited, but it is not something they can do about it, as you are on an island and that s how things are going over there.

Sally and Mike are great hosts! Very friendly, very helpful, it was an amazing stay overall. The whole place is very cosy, comfortable, rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, clean and cute and with AC! You can also borrow snorkle and kayak and rent bikes and they give you great tips on places to visit nad eat. The best place for a 'honeymoon' stay in Bocas if you look for a quiet place where you can jump in the water right after breakfast :)

There was nothing we did not like. It is a bit further from the town, but there's always cheap taxi's so it's not a problem. And if you pike to walk or bike, even better.

Sunsetter was perfect. Sally and Mike are awesome hosts and our room had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and different each morning. I don't eat white flour and Mike took the time to find a substitute to the toast everyone else had. He made something for me using a coconut flour and it was so good i aked for the recipe. Sally sent directions and other useful information a week or so before we arrived . We had no trouble finding the Sunsetter. Wifi worked great in our room. There was a TV in our room to watch Netflix but honestly we never did turn it on . Stay here you won't be disappointed:))

Probably the best spot to stay in Bocas del Toro

Excellent place to stay in Bocas del Toro. Located on the main island, close to many bars and restaurants but in a really quiet bay. The town is about a 25 minute walk (or a $1 taxi ride) away, a swim in the Caribbean is direct from the deck of the bed and breakfast :) Besides the excellent location, this bed and breakfast is also very comfortable. Excellent bed, nice shower and an own balcony to enjoy the views. There is also a great common area (even when it’s raining). There are also kayaks and paddleboards for you to take to explore the bay, we even managed to spot sloths during our kayak trip ;) Service is very personal, Mike and Sally are excellent hosts. The daily changing breakfast is outstanding (loved the Canadian touch with the maple syrup on the French toast ;)) and their tips for activities are outstanding. Nothing ever seemed to much during our stay, will stay here again when visiting Bocas del Toro without a doubt.

A remarkable, memorable experience not to be missed!

Beautiful location in a quiet, working class neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet only an short, inexpensive taxi ride from all the shops, restaurants and boat tours. What sets Sunsetter apart? The fantastic hosts, Sally and Mike. Not intrusive, but ready and willing to answer questions, make recommendations and even arrange some tour operators to pick up and drop off right at their dock! We loved our stay and look forward to returning.

Would definitely recommend this place if going to Bocas Del Toro. The host Mike and Sally are great and very friendly. Gave us some great recommendations on places to visit on island. Communication was excellent as well. The directions to place were very easy to follow when arriving. Very comfortable and quiet place to just relax. Short drive to town, we even walked it once about 25 mins. The air condition in the room is a huge plus. Take advantage of the paddle boards and kayaks that are provided! Thank you for a great stay!

We honestly liked everything.Mike and Sally were really good, the location is amazing,you can jump from the patio in crista water or just look down to see many types of fish. Breakfasts everyday fresh and different cooked on the spot. Beautiful room with great view on the mangrove and sunset. Mike and Sally were really supportive with info on the place, renting boat, helping me to find fish guide and many more

Feels like a home abroad

We stayed for three nights and then came backe for another one since we liked it so much. Sally and Mike are fantastic hosts and help you with everything. the breakfast was great, good wifi, comfortable bed, it was clean. we would definitly come again if we‘re in Bocas. as they say: come as guests - leave as friends :-)

Sally and Mike are very nice and helpful. They informed ist about the road blocks and habe us some very helpful contacts. They have very nice rooms and prepare a very tastefully breakfast. If we go to Bocas again, we would like to stay at the sunsetter.

Exceptional Stay - Highly Recommended

My stay at this BnB was exceptional! I had absolutely no issues with the room or the location or the facilities or the breakfast or the hosts! Mike and Sally were fantastic hosts - who were always on hand to help with any queries and even took myself and the other guests to the Floating Bar on their boat! Mike and Sally also recommended the best restaurants to eat at in the town - thanks for the recommendations! Myself and the other guests even cooked our tea (dinner) one evening, using the hob in the guests area. You can easily hire a bike from Mike and Sally with no issues! The room, bathroom and bedroom view were beautiful! The breakfasts were delicious! You can even see the fish in the water around the BnB. Mike and Sally also provide clean, filtered drinking water on site without a charge. I will definitely be staying here again when I return to Bocas! Thanks again for everything Mike and Sally!

There was nothing I did not like about this BnB, it was an exceptional experience, which I think everyone should come and experience for themselves.

Stunning experience

Sally and Mike were amazing. They offered us a welcome drink at our arrival. Everything was perfect. the room, the breakfast, the facilities. The B&B is so beautiful. You can enjoy the sunrise and the sunset from the terrace. Sally and Mike were so nice to us. The gave us so many tips about Bocas. They also gave the snorkeling mask so we were able to see the starfish in Playa Estrella. Also, we found each other at the same place for dinner and the offer us a lift to go back to the B&B. A lift with the boat, at night. The sky was clear so we watched the stars and the moon. I mean everything was great. Shame we stayed two night only. Hopefully we will go back and stay longer.

Beautiful B&B, very thoughtful amenities, everything you could need and want!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Sunsetter. Sally and Mike have thought about everything you could need or want. They provided us with so much information and suggestions. They were very flexible and adapted to our needs. The place is very comfortable and beautifully renovated. We loved the access to the kayaks and went for a ride and saw two sloths! Couldn't recommend them higher.
