SUPER LOCATION FOR WEST MALLING. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING
HAVING TO DRAG YOUR LUGGAGE THROUGH A BUSY CROWDED FRIDAY NIGHT BAR - NOT THE EASIEST THING TO DO . IT WASN'T PERHAPS THE MOST FRIENDLIEST WELCOME FROM THE LANDLORD, BUT TO BE FAIR, IT WAS A VERY BUSY NIGHT IN THE PUB. ...
3.4
Great location, friendly staff.
Good atmosphere in the bar.
Close to a number of excellent restaurants.

Breakfast wasn’t included
Nowhere to park, had to pay for parking or wait until 5.30pm til 8am when it was free in Tesco’s car park a five minute walk away

good position
all ok

The pub has a lot of character and is right in the centre of the village. There is a good bath in the bedroom.
The pub closes early. There are no staff to deal with check ins. Access after hours is out the back of the pub. Quite dirty

The Curtains
It is tired. The bed side light had no bulb, the headboard has paint coming off it, the ceiling in the bathroom is cracking, the shower door is off it's tracks, the coffee machine tray was dirty, they didn't make up the room....they made the bed but left dirty cups and towels were not replaced or even put straight. There was a green security light showing the way to the door in an emergency and it was unnecessarily bright. The rooms are above a pub and they had a very loud beer delivery at 7 in the morning I stupidly left my passport in my room when I left at 8:30 in the morning. It was only as I approached Gatwick at 6pm that I realised so had to go back for it. They could have contacted me to let me know they had it - they were quick enough to contact me to tell me there was no single person discount any more. I rarely complain but for £125 per night, I feel that I was ripped off.

Host was lovely
V loud, so got little to no sleep, rooms could have done with a better clean, in particular the bathroom. The remote control was sticky
3.4
Beautiful comfy rooms, we had all four of them. All individually styled and decorated. The staff and owners were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you.
Nothing!

The room was very comfortable and very clean. The tea and coffee facilities were unexpectedly good considering they were just in the room. The bathroom looked as if it had recently been re-decorated and felt like quality materials had been used. Surprisingly spacious too. Great shower. Staff were spot on. Perfect location in a great town.
A few minor (and these really are minor points). Although the bathroom had recently been done up a few niggling things came to light. For example, the soap tray in the shower was a bit loose and the shower head looked like it was coming away from the wall. Nothing crazy, it still worked fine. The TV remote didn't work. At the end of the day, I was only there for a night, so all of this is extremely minor.

location
room very small. twin beds. uncomfortable

The location was ideal for us in the high street with various pubs, restaurants and shops.
Although there is no parking at the hotel, there is a public car park just opposite so no problem.
The room was excellent with the bath being the highlight.
We will definitely be back
I couldn't open the sash windows for some fresh air. I have lived in properties with sash windows in the past, so I understand the challenges that come with old sash windows i.e. expensive to fix to a high standard. Hopefully the property owner will make the investment to deal with the windows,.There was no decaf tea.

The layout of the room and decor were good,
And the location was excellent.
The bar staff were very welcoming.
The green emergency light in the room was too bright and interrupted our sleep.
We tried to use the lovely bath in our room but unfortunately the plug didn't close properly and water kept drying away. Also the hot tap didn't stay hot for long enough.

it’s location was good
moving on the bed was noisy let alone Anything else.

Super friendly staff, very fancy/plush decor and fantastic bath in our room. West Malling is lovely, with nice local/ independent shops.
Our only mild negative was, they'd not set the WiFi up to reach the rooms, so we had to sit in bar to use.
Parking in West Malling is a nightmare... took us all about 30mins to find a space. Nothing the hotel can do about this... they were really helpful in suggesting a spot by the local primary school, but just as a warning to others... allow time to park.

the location
the heating did not work in the bedroom. it was very cold. we tried to contact the number in the book however there was no signal. we tried to connect to the WiFi however the code did not work. when we pointed this out the next morning the cleaner said oh that’s the wrong password in the book. the Gusto machine was filthy. the bed was also horrendous. it looked pretty but was the most uncomfortable bed that I have ever slept in. even premier inn have more comfortable beds for a lot less cost. the room was not worth £160 per night.

The location was good for us.
It was extremely noisy! The bed cover was clean but with a bad old stain on them! Plug socket was very loose and things were a little tired for £160 you expect a certain level to be maintained. We were shown to our room and that was it when leaving nobody around but the cleaner who we gave our key to.

lovely property and very helpful staff

Location good for Hop Farm
Water pressure in shower

The room was very clean, and the staff were friendly and pleasant.
This is not a boutique hotel as described on the website, its basically a pub with rooms. I double checked the website several times as I wasn't sure it was the same place. It was fine for a convenient overnight stay but you couldn't spend any length of time there which is what is suggested.
3.4
There was no breakfast but no problem, at least three places for good breakfast just across the road. Location perfect for us in the centre of West Malling and free parking minutes away all weekend. The owners/staff made us very welcome.
Were other rooms, probably should have asked for larger one not facing the busy high street.

Location was convenient
I paid £160 for a room that is marketed as a boutique with luxury bathroom. Firstly the bed was near collapsing and groaned with every movement. The luxury bathroom door could not shut let alone lock, the coffee machine was half full of stagnant water and had mould inside it. I pointed this out to the proprietor and asked for a room swap - he said there was nothing he could do about it and that’s it. I asked for a reduction and his response was ‘yeah I’ll sort it’ - clearly no refund and unbelievably rude. I am not a keyboard warrior who is detrimental about reviews, but this is the worst hotel I have stayed in and I would avoid at all costs. If it’s wrong, try and show some empathy - but no my issues were dismissed and they had my money and genuinely did not care.
