About this apartment rental
Set on the top floor of historic Llanunwas House our modern, light but cosy apartment has a stunning view directly over the wide panorama of St Brides Bay to the islands of Skomer and Skokholm.
Llanunwas is a historic mansion in a country landscape; as you leave the road at Upper Solva and drive into the woods, you will appreciate you are somewhere special. Enjoy two acres of lawns and gardens with a mix of sunny and shaded areas – ideal for sitting and relaxing, or for children to explore.
Nearby is Britain’s smallest city, St Davids, home of the magnificent cathedral, National Park Visitor Centre, speciality shops and restaurants. Skomer View sleeps 4 in one double and one twin bedroom. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash basin and toilet.
The lounge is an ideal place to relax and look out over the sea and the islands. It is light and airy in summer and warm and cosy in winter and has a flat screen television with Freeview satellite channels, DVD player and free Wi-Fi.
The kitchen diner has a full range of modern appliances, including hob, grill and oven, fridge freezer, washing machine/dryer and microwave.

Lovely clean apartment with fantastic views,
A small walk from the top of Solva but very doable.

Lovely position with stunning views. The apartment was beautifully clean and well appointed. We used it as a base for walking this section of the Pembrokeshire coastal path (porthgain to Marloes) and it fitted the bill perfectly. I would, whole heartedly recommend the apartment. Solva is in easy reach with good pubs, cafes and restaurants and the walk into Solva along the coastal path is breathtaking.

The photos cannot do this lovely apartment justice. It is charming. A few minutes from the coastal path, with exceptional views. Village shop nearby.
The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Immaculate.
We wanted to stay longer, and spoke to Phil and his wife, who's charm and thoughtfulness was as evident in that conversation, as it was throughout the apartment. A restful, quiet and relaxing place to be. Thankyou.

The flat was exactly as the pictures showed and all the instructions were really clear. We had a lovely break away from home by the fresh sea air and the accommodation was 5 star. We are now planning dates to stay next year

The apartment was very clean, well-equipped and warm. It is a short walk to the coastal path which has lovely views, and also convenient for the village shop and pubs in Solva. The owner provided clear instructions for entry and operation of equipment. We would definitely come again.

Stunning Solva
The apartment is in a lovely location, a drive away from Solva. Plenty big enough for the three of us. We visited Ramsay island (book in advance) such a beautiful place. Visited at David’s for the best ice cream. Solva harbour is stunning and the town has done lovely shops and a gallery of interesting art. Would visit again definitely

Skomer View Solva - Delightful
A lovely, spacious, very comfortable, and very quiet, top floor apartment with great views over the fields and the whole of St. Brides Bay. The extremely large grassed area garden was perfect for sitting out or eating, and had almost as good views as the apartment due to the properties elevated position. Only a few minutes walk, from the coastal path, and downhill into lovely Solva. Well positioned for exploring most of Pembrokeshire. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful apartment with fantastic views
We had a fabulous three nights stay here and walked the Coastal Path from Abereiddy to Newgale during our stay. The area is so beautiful and we were really lucky to have long sunny days which made calling at local pubs for a nice cold beer after our walks so necessary! The apartment is so clean and tasetefully decorated with a lovely kitchen area and bathroom. We felt comfy and at home as soon as we arrived. The views from the windows are amazing so make sure you take your binoculars!

A nice apartment, in a lovely location
Most elements of the apartment score 5 stars. The kitchen is well equipped, the apartment is clean, the location is good and the owners are good to deal with.
The one thing that takes away from an overall 5 star is that the bedrooms are way too small and there is next to no space to store personal belongings. There is no wardrobe, the drawers (in particular in room two) are not sufficient for clothes and a lot of ones clothes need to be stored in the lounge drawers.
The location gets mixed feedback, but for us it was good. Yes, you are a reasonable walking distance from Solva (especially lower Solva), but as long as you're here to do some walking, it really isn't a big problem. In fact a walk to lower Solva for dinner is actually quite nice.
Lower Solva itself has some great places to visit; we ate there a lot and whilst the menus are a little expensive, we did not have one bad meal; and the people are really friendly.
The kitchen in the apartment is fully equipped. We really liked the quality of the furnishings within the kitchen and could not think of one thing missing.
It is worth calling out again that the apartment is on the second floor. Did not concern us at all, but I genuinely do not recall seeing this detail when I initially booked and wonder whether the text for the apartment has been updated to reflect some feedback. However, one positive, even though the unit is quite a few apartments together, we did not get disturbed by noise and could always park.
So, the only negative is the bedrooms. The second room, in which we had a 15 year old and 11 year old was just big enough to take the two beds, and really no further space. If you have two very young children then the space may be sufficient, but it is the one element that would put me off booking again as storing clothes for a walking and beach holiday, in the UK where multi weather packing is essential, was like a puzzle.
One final thing, we left some clothes, by accident, in a drawer in the lounge, and the owners were brilliant and sent the clothes back to us.

Very Nice appartment near the Coast Path
We had a very nice stay at Skomer View. Lots of space for a family of four in the appartment. A nice short walk along the Coast Path is possible to the harbour of Solva. Other options for walks can be chosen from the many books and brochures which are available in the appartment. Also plenty of things to do in nearby St Davids. We especially recommend coasteering and sea kayaking. We had a great week in this very beautifull part of Wales.

Room with a view
We had 5 nights in this lovely apartment, which was very clean and comfortable.
Directions to the property were easy to follow. The only small hitch we had getting into the apartment was the instructions to get the door keys.
We put the front door code into the lock and the door opened first time. However, the instructions then said to get the flat keys from the security box on the wall. We tried the code several times until we realised they referred to the key box outside of the flat door, not the one just inside the front door.
Maybe if the instructions said the key box by the flat door, it would have make things easier.
Apart from that a great place with gorgeous views over St Brides Bay to Skomer.
We had a great time.

Skomer view
It was a lovely appartment, had a lovely relaxing stay but i took my 70 year old mum and I wasn’t aware that it was on the 3rd floor because it wasn’t in the description so it was a bit of a struggle

Lovely!
Peaceful, beautiful, great access to the Coastal Path. A bit removed from the activity of Lower Solva but the apartment couldn’t be a better home-base.

Peaceful location in Pembrokeshire
Skomer View offers a peaceful location within easy reach of beautiful harbours, beaches and interesting villages. The apartment itself cannot be faulted as it is clean, well equipped and a perfect home from home. Nearby Solva is within walking distance and all the locals are really friendly and welcoming. I’d recommend visiting Mamgu for the best welsh cakes I’ve ever tasted; a trip to Skomer Island to see the puffins and breathe in the scent of the carpet of bluebells and a spot of crabbing from the walls of Solva harbour: free entertainment for children and adults of all ages.
Thank you for the ease of booking, the high standards of the apartment and the clear instructions and guidance to local highlights and places to eat.

Excellent apartment and location
Cosy, comfortable, very well equipped, with additional information provided about the local area and maps, guides etc. Views are fantastic, location is great, a lovely 40minwalk into Solva on the coastal path, bringing you in along the harbour, a lovely spot for drink and lunch or afternoon tea! Only 5 mins drive into St David's, a lovely little place, and more great walks and beaches up on that part of the coast too. A visit to Skomer island is also a must..Thanks very much...will definitely return.

Simply The Perfect Place To Get Away From It All!
Our family of 4 adults went for a 4 day break to Skomer View just after (a pretty hectic) Xmas 2018.
The booking process was very smooth and easy and I have to commend Phil and Jayne for their excellent and friendly communication throughout. Made us feel welcome from the start!
The location (we love Solva), the apartment, the views, the costal walks were all just perfect and I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a West Wales break.
We spent New Year's Eve here, eating a lovely meal at The Cambrian Inn (gastro pub) and then visiting the Royal George which desoite being full of local families enjoying their New Year, was very welcoming and a great place to stop for a couple of drinks on our way back to pop the fizz at 12-o'clock.
Just book - you'll love it!

Has all the conveniences, e.g. dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, in a very clean and well presented apartment. The view from the lounge and dining area was magnificent. The apartment is in a great position in a very interesting part of Wales.
