About this house rental
This property is a 3BR, 2.5BA direct Indian Shores Beachfront Home. It has direct access to the Gulf of Mexico sand and surf. You step off the ground floor patio onto the short beach path that winds through the dune. High tide or low the beach offers some of the finest sugar sand in the country.
It is a beautifully decorated three-story unit with a two car garage on the ground floor, main living spaces along with a half-bath on the first floor and the three bedrooms (all with skylights) and two full baths on the second floor. The water views from every window say it all.
Sunsets, locally called The Show, are sure to be enjoyed to the fullest from the spacious deck, the balcony off the master suite, or the patio. Our preference is to watch The Show with our toes in the sand.
The recreation and relaxation activities are only limited by your imagination. Sitting on a beach chair or strolling the water's edge looking for treasures to the sound of the surf is a great way to relax. Wading and swimming is easy and refreshing in the warm waters of the Gulf. If you're under 65 you'll need a license to surf fish with the provided gear. You can catch your own bait with my bait net or purchase bait just up the street. Walking, jogging, or cycling up or down the beach or Gulf Blvd is pleasant before the heat of the day.
We are located on a quiet stretch of Gulf Blvd within a short walk to Caddy's Restaurant, ice cream shops, and other local shops. The rental shop next to Caddy's rents bikes, boats, and other items. Slyce and Original Pizza will deliver to the house. Many other restaurants are a short drive up or down the beach. We've had many pleasant meals at the Salt Rock.
We are 40 minutes from Tampa International Airport, and only 30 minutes St Petersburg/Clearwater Airport. Disney World & Universal Studios are an hour and a half away. Busch Gardens is less than an hour away! You can see Winter the dolphin at the Clearwater Aquarium just 30 minutes up the beach. The Tampa area offers many fine attractions for its visitors.

We had a wonderful stay
10.0 / 10.0
My husband and I stay on Indian Shores every spring with our 4 kids and this is our favorite house to stay in. We get to watch the dolphins swim along the shoreline in the mornings from our balcony while we drink our coffee; the whole house is comfortable and impeccably clean; the beach is just steps away... really, you can't ask for a better experience on the beach. We already are looking forward to next year!

Great place. Good layout. Perfect location. Would stay again.

The ocean view from the house was so beautiful! You could hear the ocean waves. The sunset was so lovely and peaceful. The beach was wide and the sand finely ground. There was room on the beach for bocci ball games, football, playing catch. We found sand dollars, sea urchins, and multiple kinds of sea shells. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking our own dinners. An overall, relaxing and peace filled vacation.

The property was perfect! Just steps to the beach and the most gorgeous sunsets from the balcony. The kitchen was large and fully stocked. A nice spot away from the busy traffic of Clearwater but close to several restaurants, bars, and shopping.

Incredible views of the ocean and sunset. quick easy access to the beach. Place was super clean and owners were great to work with. Just could use some updating and new beach towels and chairs. Loved the deck too.

Ours was a group of 5 adults having our first family vacation in years, and we're glad we stayed here. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the owner has provided lots of extras to try to make sure we had everything we needed. Sunset views were spectacular!
If we're back in the are we will definitely look into staying here again!

Only thing would be the upstairs would get warm during the day and take a while to cool down at night.

Everything was great - the house, view, location, and all the extra accessories that are there in the garage for use!
The below are not complaints just suggestions as the owner may not be aware.
The newly renovated house next door has a balcony that is very close to your main balcony. Would help to have a blind or curtain there for privacy as they are at the same level as you are.
One thing to keep in mind is if you are staying in the very hot months. The sun beams in the master bedroom and bathroom during the day and it is too warm to be in those rooms during the daytime. If the door and windows had tint or darkening curtains, this would help. We bought a high powered fan but it still didn’t reduce the heat. Overall a great stay!

Overall, this is a beautiful location and the views of the beach from the deck are amazing. Walk to the beach is steps away and very convenient. The house is spacious enough for 5+ people. Our only complaint we had with this home was the air conditioning was not working properly. When we arrived around 2pm the house was above 82 degrees . Both the downstairs and upstairs units were turned off. We turned them on and bumped them down to 70-72 degrees. The upstairs did not get down to 72 until 2am the next morning. All the rooms are upstairs and it made for an uncomfortable night, especially for a 14 month old baby. I contacted Scott about the issue that morning and he informed us that on a hot, windy day that it would be hotter in there. We asked if there was anything that he could do, like call an AC repair company, and he informed us that there was nothing he could do and that he would give us a refund and we could leave if we weren’t happy with the home. This was severely inconvenient due to us driving 12+ hours to vacation at the beach. Scott finally came by and changed the upstairs filter, which did not help the hotness much. The whole week, the upstairs unit stayed above 75 until late into the night. I don’t like to complain but when I spoke to other people vacationing next to us they said their AC was working just fine, even on a hot day. On their last day the AC stopped working and the owner had a repair man out there in less than an hour.

We stayed in this lovely home with our four kids, ages 5 months to 7 years and it was an absolute dream. The quietest, most beautiful beach with crystal clear water was just steps away, everything in the home was clean and thoughtfully chosen. I woke up early every morning and drank my coffee on the balcony while watching dolphins swim by- I just can’t wait to go back!

Perfect location. Steps to the beach. Great views from the balcony. Big kitchen. Laundry room. It checked off everything on our list.

The property is right on the beach with spectacular views of the gulf. The house is comfortable and is located nicely along Gulf Blvd with less traffic than other areas. You feel at home here!

My family had an amazing getaway in this property. The owner graciously provided everything needed for fun family beach days - towels, umbrellas, chairs, toys. The unit was clean and family friendly, with a pack n play, baby gate, and high chair in the closet. The best part is how close to the beach it is and the sunset views off the deck. We’ll definitely be back!

Great location on beach. The house, however, needs a lot of work. There are issues in the house that create unsafe situations and are likely code violations. The owner knows and doesn’t care. He is just trying to make as much money as possible off of the house. Everything is tired and of the cheapest quality possible. Interior furniture is dirty. Outside furniture is a bunch of mismatched pieces. Great choice for the beachfront location but the house itself is in poor shape.

The location and beachfront are perfect! Scott was responsive on a few issues that came up and was very accommodating to our requests.
The property, however, is very run down and it is clear very little is done for maintenance and up-keep. The inside needs a deep clean. The carpet upstairs was extremely dirty. The baseboards, lights, art on the wall etc. were all covered with dirt and dust. The cupboards, chairs, doors and railings are all white and stained brown on the touch points. I had to clean some areas it was so bad. There was a dead cockroach in one of the closets which had obviously been run over by a vacuum and left behind.
There was rust, leaks, loose screws and the upper outdoor railing wasn't even fastened on one corner.
There is a picnic table on the beach just in front of the property with the top boards missing and screws sticking out all over the place. Not fun with 2 little kids.
They only had one small umbrella and the property offers very little shade. All the floaties had holes in them.
All the wine glasses were plastic so we went and bought some glass ones.
I've been staying in VRBO's for 15years and never stayed in a property so neglected. Needs some attention.

Being on the beach was nice the weather was not. Place needs new carpet and paint. Also TVs in bedrooms for when the weather does not cooperate. Other than that it was a great location.

Our main requirement was to stay on the beach. This property provided just that! We did experience a tropical storm during our stay. Scott checked on us and the property which was appreciated.

Loved the location as it was walkable to several local restaurants. The house was equipped with a pack and play, high chair, and baby gate, which made our first time traveling with our 1 year old much more convenient.
Loved making s’mores on the fire pit.
It doesn’t get much better than beachfront views.
Definitely recommend!

The house was just right! Great location right on the beach. You take a few steps off the patio and you're in the sand. The house was super clean, and everything was as described on the VRBO website. There are 2 showers, even thought the website only lists one. The kitchen is well-appointed. There are restaurants nearby. I needed help with something while we were there and the owner came by that day and fixed it. We were really comfortable in this house.

CONSTRUCTION
Would have given better rating for owner communication but Scott failed to mention CONSTRUCTION. Scott had plenty of opportunity (because we had to change our dates and that required a few emails). to let us know there is a new build going on right beside the condo. Very loud and could hear construction even when on beach. Not a mention of the construction on the website or in the few emails. Would have preferred knowing. Our guests actually left early because of the disruption. Very disappointed. Stay should have been at least discounted once I brought it to his attention multiple times.

Much needed week in paradise!
My 35 week pregnant girlfriend and our toddler escaped the snowy cold weather up north to spend a relaxing one week babymoon in sunny and sandy Florida, and MY we couldn't have been happier with this location! The property was exactly as advertised, but even more than we could have hoped for. Very close to food and fun, and a stones throw out the back door to the Gulf. Scott and Mary were great hosts as well, we had two minor issues but they addressed them very quickly and professionally. We will definitely be back once life settles down after the newborn!

Wonderful beach house
We stayed here for a family vacation. It was the perfect size for our family of five and so close to the beach. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the gulf. It is literally only a few steps to the beach.

Great value for a beachfront home. The beach was absolutely incredible! Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay.

First the good things: the house was in a great location and easily accessible. The house was very clean and spotless, no bugs, no dirty corners. Kitchen well stocked with basics, plenty of towels, toiletries. Comfortable beds. Toy, beach chairs and body boards were a nice touch. Scott was very responsive in the booking process and check in. The bad things: There was a section of chairs with a picnic table that we assumed we could use because they were in the picture in the VRBO ad, not the case. The HOA president came and kicked us out after we built a fire and making s’mores. This was specifically after I asked if there were any restrictions to building a fire. There was a sign that states “owner only” but the sign is ambiguous since it is a public beach. There was no other place to make a fire close to the house. The HOA president was not pleasant at all and gossiped about all the other people in the community. My kids and husband were very disappointed. I am disappointed Because I do not like false advertisement. Don’t show me pictures of an area that I can not use. The house needs an update as well, everything is a bit dated and bare. The shower drains could use a cleaning, it’s a pet peeve of mine standing in water. There is no place to sit comfortably inside. I understand it’s a beach house and the point is to be outside but it rained a couple of days and red tide was blooming. beware of the red tide, i was not warned. It causes coughing, runny nose, headaches and you can’t swim in the water if you see dead fish. Which occurred after a storm. The last 2-3 days of our trip It was unbearable. I have 2 toddlers and they couldn’t play in water and we couldn’t be outside for more than short bits without having to leave. This is by no means the host fault but I would of checked before booking if I would of known.

Beautiful location, smelly home need some tlc
Easy check in, beautiful location! Home was nice and could have been very enjoyable. Upon late arrival my elderly mom fell outside due to no outdoor lighting at elevated decking edge located at edge of drive. Property immediately and continuously smelled terrible of mold and mildew, even with us using febreeze we bought several times a day. Master bath light didn’t work first night. It worked sporadically after second day, but definitely has a short. First morning greeted us with leaking kitchen cabinets that obviously have been leaking a while. They leaked all week which we wiped up. Got a face full of yucky water second day when taking out a dish so we had to move dishes. Beach equipment was broken and mostly unusable. Had to wash dishes by hand once we realized on day four that dishwasher did not work.
Upon texting owner first morning he texted back. Owner did replace outdoor light second morning. He brought a new umbrella and some other beach chairs that day as well. We did not see him as we were at the beach. We were texted and told the leaking was a mystery, and the smell was from wet clothes in owners closet which were removed, but the smell never went away. We did not receive any future response from owner after second morning, so we just made the best out of our trip!
