We loved the farm animals, the staff working at the farm were friendly, having the cafe right next to it was great. The sunroom was really nice and comfortable, as was the lounge room.
There aren’t any lockers for valuables, or even a lockable luggage storage room. The water pressure in the showers sometimes wasn’t enough to shower, or the hot water would run out. The front desk staff were a little bit sour with us. The location is tricky to get to if you don’t have a car.

It is a beautiful calm atmosphere during the time I visited. It has a little farm and vineyard, a small farm shop and cafe, and is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, perfect for the souls that want to rejuvenate themselves in peace. Guests here were respectful of each other and did not intentionally try to cause trouble as I have had personal experience of with many other hostels. The showers were separate from the room, room share with 3 or 4 other people kept the temperature of the room at the right level. Any more people and it would have been overheated. Conversations had with other people concur in similar ideas. It is a place where you have the option to switch off from technology. Smoking is outside the premises. Only one person seen drinking one can of beer on the premises within public areas only. Other niggles mentioned to the people running the place were made up in other ways and were also mentioned to me by guests but dutifully dealt with. Food is superb. And I appreciated the cafetière of coffee on the last day, a nice alternative!
One person smoking marijuana on the job it seemed but outside the premises. There is no proper laundrette facility for the guests although I was offered the use of what was available but left after two dries with wet clothes causing mildew in my luggage and clothes.

Excellent heating in rooms, decent beds, nice lounge space with lots of movie options, very good shower pressure and temperature
Lack of responsiveness on messages and emails sent ahead of time. Bathrooms are a little bit worn.

Fantastic location for exploring with the added benefits of the rare bread farm.
Fantastic kitchen
We had no water in the shower or tap in bathroom in the morning. We turned the tap and there was nothing!

They have some things for the kids, like trampoline, petting animals, and nice garden.
Hot water in some of the showers are hard to control.

I made my own breakfast in the kitchen. I liked the garden and the animals/peacocks nearby. The location is convenient for an overnight stop on a journey to Cornwall.
My room was above the front and kitchen doors, which were banging during my stay. I found turning into Amesbury Road where the Hostel is located hazardous (crossing the fast and very busy lanes of the A303. It would be useful to have alternative directions (I used a sat nav) when visiting the hostel travelling London bound. I would stay again when I was travelling South West on the A303 which is easier for access.

The breakfast was fine - it was one of the choices on their café menu. The building is attached to a rare breeds farm which meant there was plenty of interest on the doorstep. The staff were unfailingly pleasant, the facilities were really clean and it is only five miles from Stonehenge.
It would have been nice if the on-site café which is part of the farm experience would stay open a little longer for evening meals. As it happens I like to dine early but an extra hour might attract some in-house custom.

Value for money and a good location next to the farm... Kids will enjoy their time with the family.
Needs to spend a little on the maintenance.

If you’re after cheapDigs, these have clean rooms, clean kitchen and bathrooms. Ultra basic so don’t expect more but it’s a youth hostel……..wouldn’t hesitate to book here again when I need a basic room
Walls are a little thin but still slept ok

I love the land, the environment was very welcoming and comfortable. It felt very homey which is a big plus for me.
It was a bit difficult to get around without having a car but that has nothing to do with the Hostel itself.
