It is located in a lovely part of the UK,
There is a very friendly (& dog friendly) pub with rooms serving great food just a couple of mins walk away!
Marketed as dog friendly, but once booked (and non refundable) owner stated cottage “not dog friendly” as the cottage is “very small”. When I said we would need to cancel (and I would have pursued this miss marketing) he did say he would make an “exception” this time. But this was after asking if we could “leave our dog with someone else”? … the point of the holiday was to take our dog, it’s the Lake District for goodness sake.
The marketing photos of the property are very deceptive, it is extremely small and rather tired in places.
Many of the kitchen cupboards are locked, thus reducing storage. Never experienced this before!
For all the marketing hype the kitchen was poorly equipped. Cheap miss matching glasses etc. Towels and bed linen were also disappointing.
To sum up, the cottage had great reviews, on booking.com but we really cannot agree. Overall we were disappointed. Too expensive for what offered.

Location is beautiful, so cosy and home from home. Absolutely loved it. If you want a quiet get away with beautiful walks and stress free stay then this is the place for you
. Make sure you get supplies in for breakfast so as pubs don’t open till lunch.
Nothing!

What a great place to stay was used as a base for a fair few hikes and I chose to take hardknott pass to get to Boot and what a drive it was. An amazing place to stay and would stay again in a heart beat.
The cottage had everything that was needed a private garden with bbq if needed and a fully equipped kitchen, I chose to eat at the boot inn which I highly recommend what a great pub right at the door step
Being very very picky but please a monopoly board game instead of the logo quiz, on a serious note a great place this is!

It is very beautiful and cosy with most amenities.
There is a bath tub but no shower in the big room. this was a huge problem as we could not shower there but use it only as a toilet and had to use a shared toilet for bathing. Also, if a bath is provided then you should provide bath bombs and other required stuff. Also, if you could provide some coal and wood for fire and BBQ.

Fantastic location. Very clean. Had great WiFi, close to Pubs and the railway station. Staff were very helpful despite a few issues listed below, which were eventually resolved by very helpful and friendly handymen.
Took 2 days to get the TV working and dead mice had to be removed after we arrived. Both these issues (especially the awful smell of rotting mouse) could have been resolved before we arrived. Lots of ants in bottom bedroom, but I guess it is the countryside...

The property was very big and comfy.

Very clean and had everything we needed.
lovely view of the bridge and beck from the bedroom.
Extremely comfortable bed and a nice freestanding bath.
Incredibly small, not a lot of space for manoeuvring both upstairs and downstairs.
More suited as a base for Hiking, not so much a place for relaxing, so maybes just a little expensive for what it is.

Location was fantastic, very cosy. immaculate kitchen. The views around the back of the cottages are beautiful.
We kept getting woke up by the pounding rain as the bedroom is situated in the roof/attic. TV is very dated and too small.

great location, very comfortable accommodation, two local pubs, plenty of walks from the front door

So clean and cosy. Love the coffee and thank you for the milk. Lovely touch. Had everything we needed. Beautiful place. Internet worked a treat.
Not enough loo roll :-) and wrong key code given initially so were locked out for half an hour, in the dark. Tried phoning greg's mobile, from the landline in the pub. Wouldnt connect. Then realised there was another code in a different email. So not an ideal start after a grueling hike.
