Wonderfully secluded retreat

Beautiful property with very helpful staff. The villas are nicely separated so you feel nice and secluded. The food at the restaurant was good enough, and the spa service massage was fantastic. Staff were always accommodating and having everything flow through a WhatsApp chat was very efficient and convenient. Really nice location if you plan on booking a driver for all your excursions in the north.

One of the duck dishes wasn't very good (clearly reheated and still a bit cold in parts), but otherwise the food was good. The sink in our room also wasn't quite aligned well with the tap, so water splashed everywhere.

Breathtaking view with nice affordable villa

We arrived when it is dark and directly went to sleep but were greeted with the most amazing view from the morning view. The room is overlooking a beautiful paddy field which is non-accessible since it's not owned by Pondok Sebatu. The vibe of the room is very romantic and overall villa is nice for the price. It is very near to Tegallagang Rice Terrace which really helps us get to this famous place really early and avoid the crowd. he restaurant comes with a very beautiful view as well, very serene. They provided us with iron which is always a plus!

The bathroom floor keeps being messy with sand which I don't like even after housekeeping. The breakfast menu for English breakfast is not that enjoyable so next time we will choose the Balinese breakfast I think. Sad that we're not able to choose the menu for take away option since we're out quite early.

Fantastic for those that want to just switch off

This place is perfect for those that want to just switch off. We had a Villa on the river with a private pool. It was wonderful watch the wildfife and just relaxing. However, it wasn't totally private as other residents can sit and walk that area. The staff were also great. And the view from the eating area is stunningly beautiful. Highly recommmended.

The food options could be better for vegetarians. But what they had was lovely

-TV wasn’t working, fridge was very loud at night so we always had to plug it out before sleep, lots of ants in the villa even in bed, bed itself was very loud, crunching and cracking with every move

not that i expected, the villa condition is a bit run down due to covid, insects inside the rooms. sliding doors is hard to open. 2 bedroom that have no connection door. food and drink just plain.

Beautiful scenery in the countryside

We had a beautiful brand new villa with an absolutely beautiful view across the rice fields and valley

We were under the impression when we booked this property it was on flat land in the middle of rice fields as per the photos on booking.com. Instead were were perched on the side of a very steep valley. Every time we left our villa it involved climbing up or down multiple steps. Management however realised when we questioned it that the photos on booking.com in fact were of their partner property the Pondok Sebatu Eco lodge. They organised for us to spend our last night at this property which would have suited us much better as it was flat and surrounded by rice fields. The management went out of their way to provide transport to move us from one property to the other.

Absolute perfection

Set amongst the rice terraces this gorgeous hide away offers so much more than just accomodation, staying here is an experience in itself. Each villa is nestled into the hillside creating gorgeous uninterrupted views creating the most beautiful scenery from anywhere within the property grounds. Away from the hustle and bustle it is the perfect place to unwind and relax. We enjoyed 5 perfect days here and each and every one we experienced the most incredible service from Yogi and all of the beautiful staff at the villa from reception, restaurant, housekeeping, massage and maintenance everything was carried out to perfection and with a smile. If you enjoy coming to Bali to experience Bali in its truest form you will love Pondok Sebatu Villa. Our heartfelt thanks to all that made our stay such a perfect one.

staff are helpful and friendly! amazing views from restaurant! peaceful location the first room wasn’t the same as pictured, we was then given the room we expected (from the online photos)

photos for the rooms are correct! double check with the property as all the photos are basically the same one room! the first room we was given wasn’t the cleanest and didn’t look like the photos. shower isn’t great, had to constantly turn the taps to get hot water. One minute it’s boiling next freezing

Superb

We were amazed at the beautiful location and room at Pondok Sebatu!! Right in the middle of the Jungle, very peaceful and relaxing. The Staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly and even organized a birthday cake for my boyfriend which was very special! They offer lots of tours and classes and have their own spa (highly recommend). If you want to dive deep into the beauty and culture of Bali, this is the place.

Be aware that Ubud is 30min - 45min away, so if you want to go outside of the Shuttle time, taxi is a bit expensive. Also note that the food portions in the restaurant were a bit too small for our taste, so we always had to order two main courses to get full.

Great stay but could improve

Staff very friendly and always helpful. Personal pool in villa a plus. Confortable beds. Quirky features in rooms. Good air conditioning. Close to tourist attractions- rice terrace, waterfalls etc.

Tv in room not connected. Service was slow at mealtimes despite pre ordering breakfast. Limited staff as just opened after pandemic. Reduced times for shuttle bus to Ubud.

Romantic villa with jungle views

The entire stay was amazing. We loved our private villa with the pool. The staff really made the stay extra special as we felt welcomed and had many lovely conversations. The scenery around the villas is beautiful with lush jungle and well kept gardens. The hotel had scooters for hire so it was easy to get around and the central location made it easy accessible for day touring. Didn't want to leave and will be back!

As the hotel had just opened up post covid the place was still getting back into full service when we arrived. Meals are not made on site but delivered from the nearby villa run by the same people. I am sure once the hotel is in full swing the small logistical issues will get sorted out.

Amazing view after 2 years of pandemic

Amazing view, friendly staff and great breakfast

Before the pandemic their last shuttle schedule from ubud centre was 8 PM. But, last time they last schedule of shuttle was 3 PM, so we have very limited time in ubud centre from 11 AM to 3 PM. I hope you can add more 2 hours if you only have 1 schedule shuttle from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Good price villa for a one bed room with private pool

We booked one bed room villa, and they gave us the one on the highest spot. I was 7 months pregnant, and can't not handle the stairs. Asked for lower room, and they gave us on the 2nd day (we stay here for 5 nights). Smaller size but still have a bathub and private pool. And we like this one bettwry, coz nearer the lobby and oarking lot. They just reopen the hotel after 2 years pandemic, so we understand if the facilities had 1-2 lack. But the staff are amazing, they really accommodate what we need.

The TV cable is not working, the brekfast's need to improve, the dinner's taste need to elevate, though the price is not that expensive.

everyrhing is personalised service. the staff (yogi/team and contacted drivers) were exceptional and professional. bfast well arranged and provided on time at villa. lunch/dinner options superb, healthy, delicious and affordably priced. spa service within villa is great. private pool with infinity view of terraces. local shops around sebatu. our trips to mt batur and other daily tours well arranged, with bfast, correct info and professionally detailed. thanks for upgrading to two room villa.

understandably still recuperating from pandemic, 1 villa being constructed nearby but did not affect our stay.

Nice location, but need to work hard on the service level. definetily do bot recommend f&b

view, swimming pool, water in the room.

I will not ruin your score, but please pay attention to following details: 1. air conditioner in 3-bedroom villa. it is very, very loud (impossible to sleep), we had to switch it off. Main bedroom with king size bed. 2. orderes food for dinner was just terrible - main dishes were cold, pizzas - heated frozen pizzas from the store (not tasty at all) 3. for breakfast we got omelette, pancakes, coffee. please see the pictures. omelette was not eatable and there were ants in our coffee. 4. no hot water in the shower in the morning 5. a lot of huge ants in the bathroom
