Exceptional retreat with excellent service

We had an exceptional stay at Tri by Amaya. We stayed in a Lake Pool Villa and the room was perfect with a lovely pool. The staff were incredible - nothing was too much to ask. It's a unique boutique style hotel which has been carefully designed to offer complete privacy. The on site restaurant offers delicious food (the Sri Lankan curry and kottu is a must), amazing breakfast either at the restaurant or brought to your room. The coffee is worth mentioning as amazing! We made use of the spa which was great, a yoga session, in a gorgeous shala, sundowners at the water tower and dinner in the restaurant and in our room. It was the perfect escape and we couldn't recommend this location with Shane and his team highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing stay!

Secluded and stunning. Really enjoyed.

The place is located in a bay within koggala lake, a perfect scenery. You could just sit at the pool or balcony and look at the view for hours. The staff was extremely helpful. The pool was great. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautiful. The gardens are lovely.

Being secluded (about 20 min from the nearest town) is a great advantage, but being so, the place should have more options for me to stay in the property (a better variety in the food menu, a gym, a free taxi service into town), and also there wasn't even a small fridge in the rooms so you couldn't take food or drinks from outside and eat later which as limiting. But overall a great stay

Many glitches but the lovely staff made up for it!

Lovely property. Fantastic staff. Very cozy, great views. The staff really made up for all the issues we had with the property.

We went at a time when there was construction so there was no spa, no library functional. None of the facilities were working and we weren't told. Had we been informed we would not have stayed there. The food also wasn't mind blwoing.

Amazing location, however the Water Tower room is not worth the money.

The surroundings were amazing. The lake views just spectacular. Staff was very lovely. Great breakfast!

Water tower room was really small, considering the price. Couldn't plug the hairdryer (provided by the hotel) in the bathroom sockets due to diff power plug... Had to dry my hair sitting on the ground in the room. No tea or coffee provided in the room, you need to go to the bar. Very inconvenient. Food in the restaurant was pretty pricey, however the taste was pretty basic. There's a beautiful library in the premises, but it's way too hot to be there.

Relaxing gateaway

Extremely relaxing place with a lovely staff. Just make sure to book a villa and not a toom in the tower as those are pretty small. We did book one by mistake but the manager was super nice to find us a vila last minute. Will for sure visit back there

Awesome hotel, recommended for couples and families for a quite chill stay in the middle of the jungle

We booked the suite with private pool. Everything in the hotel is perfect. The room is completely independent from the hotel, it has amazing views of the lake and the privacy is unique. Very comfortable room, bed, shower, balcony. The service of the hotel is excellent and they take care of everything. Breakfast is fabulous, and the lunch/dinner menu is outstanding (the chef is top, totally unexpected). We had one of our most valued experience in this hotel, and we had an amazing service with Dilshan and Chanukah (they provided us an excellent professional service)

Amazing

We arrived very late mid of the night yet, we had complementary drinks and cold towels and an orientation. The place is like a piece of heaven, sensible to environment and everything was environmentally friendly and sustainable and the location is just spectacular. The service was well accommodated and the staff was really friendly. They had adjusted to all our needs. The room had everything needed and the spa treatment was amazing and lady was so nice and her touch heals the sore muscles. The chief’s food was great and the local cousin was spot on. You feel within nature and your soul is healed. The bike ride was great as we were escorted with a driver behind us to make sure that we were safe the whole time. Overall, it was a great experience and the best part is waking us to the sounds of nature and an amazing view to the lake.

- super friendly staff, very committed to help us as much as possible and to make our stay unforgettable which they achieved 100% - location: you are in the middle of the jungle and there are many different birds that you can hear all the time, you see monkeys in the trees in the garden or next to your room and peacocks wandering around the property... - room: we got surprised with a room upgrade and had an amazing view over the Koggala Lake which was the tip of the iceberg *.* - pool: we loved the infinity pool and couldn't get enough of the spectacular view, also super nice during sunset! - food: was good but nothing special. I really liked the Pasta wit pesto for dinner!!

- food: as we are vegetarians we personally didn't like the small portions, although we know that this is usual for a restaurant in this price class but as everybody knows, vegetables have less calories than meat so you just need more of them to get full enough...

exceptional stay and perfect way to unwind

we loved everything from start to finish. exceptional staff, very caring and great customer service in a very unique and authentic way. also the food was great. we received an upgrade to the villa at the lakeside which was the cherry on the top. the place is situated right at the lake in the middle of lush green. an incredible place and a perfect place to unwind! thank u for having us

Lovely place to be.

Awesome location and a lovely place to spend a honeymoon. Great views and lovely room.

Communication around how the food will be served and knowing what's available on the menu was a bit of a challenge. Also how the payment was handled was a bit confusing. Booking.com said had free cancellation from 7 days to the booked date. But the property was asking for payment 14 days before the booking. This was never mentioned in the description. Other than that it was a great experience.

We really enjoy our staying here, highly recommend it.

Service: Extremely good service & super nice staffs, they are all very nice and very helpful, always go extra mile to make the guest happy. When they see all the sunchair is occupied or is full, they bring new ones. They are all try their best to make sure the customers who stayed here happy. Environment: Super view, beautiful pool, nice design yoga room and library, all made with quality. They care about the maintenance. Food: Nice food and reasonably price. Breakfast with a lot of choice, with good quality food. They always invite you to have dinner in the lake jetty area, which is super nice during the sunset time. They do this extra for free, they are happy to make their customer happy. Clean: Super clean everywhere, you can feel staff are taking care of the place and rooms, common area, and pool. Overall experience: The best hotel in our whole trip of our 20 days in Srilanka, value for its price, You will enjoy staying there, and don’t want to leave. It is the most peaceful hotel I ever stayed.

Yoga/spa price is a little bit too high comparing with other resorts or local spa places. If the yoga price can be a little bit lower, might attract more guest to join.

The location is incredible, the views even when it rained were spectacular. The main pool was beautiful. All the staff were superb, so attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. we really enjoyed taking the lake cruise. An incredible stay that will stay with us as a fantastic memory from Sri Lanka.

A must stay!

Outstanding views, one of the most memorable places we have ever stayed. If you can stay in the Lake villa definitely do. they upgraded us for free. The breakfast and evening meal were exceptional and reasonably priced for an incredible venue. Go to the lake tower for the sunset! best we’ve ever seen.

We thought the dining room was rather disappointing in the evenings - lacking in atmosphere - the music downstairs clashed with music in the upstairs bar - we preferred eating lunch upstairs and the staff were very helpful in putting table looking over glorious view. The staff were excellent and so helpful. It was still quite due to pandemic but a glorious location and stunning pool. The room was very comfy with magnificent view of lake it would have been nice to have lie outs on balcony too.
