Great location for where we were, well appointed cottage, very clean and comfortable.
Our eldest had a meltdown as the internet was very slow (to be honest, it was a blessing for me to be away from work calls)! I didn't love having to clean the property before leaving, paperwork mentioned it was a requirement coming out of Covid..... Having spent almost £500 for three nights, i think the cleaning should be covered.

The property is much bigger than expected and is in the most perfect location to visit around the High Peak. The hosts left a lovely cake for me to enjoy and it so tasty and a lovely touch! The house is also fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lastly, the bed was also VERY large and very comfy!
If you have the windows open, it can be quite loud as the bypass is behind the house, however with the windows shut, you cannot hear the bypass at all, so this didn't have a negative affect to my stay.

Great location to get quickly to all parts of Peak District. Well equiped and very spacious house with well thought extras such as back entrance & "dirty room" in basement where you can clean yourself after day long muddy hikes. Two bathrooms with good water that's actually warm (not always the case!). Convenient parking. Good contact with owners.
We didn't realized upon booking that this is a pet-friendly place. Unfortunately this has turned out to be a bit of a nuisance - the living room and some other parts of the house smelled strongly of dogs for the first few days which was a bit annoying for us who aren't dog owners. The overall cleanliness could also be improved - while not terrible, there was quite a lot of occasional pieces of fur, hair, and not all surfaces were thoroughly cleaned of dust. The owners require a phone call up to 48hrs before the visit - we had a pleasant chat so that's great, but I've found it bit unnecessary as pretty much all of the information was covered either in the booking email, or on informational leaflets. All of those issues were pretty miniscule however compared to what the accomodation had to offer in general.

Everything!
The cottage is lovely, it was very clean and had everything you would need. It was so well equipped. I can’t think of anything you would need except your own personal belongings.
Nothing I didn’t like

The house was beautiful and welcoming and the hosts were so lovely and accommodating to our needs. Plenty of room for a family of 6 very comfortably. We didn't want for anything very well thought out all the way through. The Cake was pretty fantastic too;) thank you!
Very hard to think of anything that could have been better!

The homely touches, in the property were amazing, home baked cake and a bottle of milk on arrival were very nice touches. Everything you could need was there. Very impressed.

The cottage is much bigger than I expected. It's a really good size. We loved the sponge cake that was ready for us to enjoy once we'd arrived. It was cold and snowy while we were there, but that wasn't a problem as the heat worked very well. The rooms were nice and cosy. The entire property is very clean and well maintained. It's nicely situated for trips to a variety of nearby walks to view the beautiful peak district.
I'm not sure what the glazing on the windows is - but you can definitely clearly hear the road traffic passing by. If you're a light sleeper it will wake you up pretty early. I don't know if it's anything that can be helped, but it's noticeable both in the master bedroom and downstairs in the front room. The washing machine door is also broken - it doesn't latch closed which was a little annoying as I needed to do some laundry.

Loved the cottage but the location had more road noise than we were expecting/wanting

Carters Cottage is an ideal base to explore the Peak District with caves, walks and tea rooms a short drive away. Spacious and clean with somewhere to park two cars. Owners very helpful.

The location was excellent for exploring all the Peak District has to offer. The cottage is well maintained and had all the facilities needed to make it a home from home for the week. The kitchen, in particular, was well stocked with suitable utensils and cookware meaning it was easy to prepare our own food. They even left us a cake on arrival - which was yummy! Overall a great base - just on the edge of town and 2 mins away from beautiful countryside.
We did notice a small amount of noise from the main road which is relatively close to the rear of the property but it didn’t impact us in anyway.

Excellent location for exploring the Peak District, the cottage was spotlessly clean and very spacious.
No problems with Communications with the owner and the home-made cake and a pint of milk in the fridge was a lovely surprise and much appreciated.
Although you couldn’t hear the traffic in the cottage, when sitting outside your could.
