+++Amazingly hospitable locals as hosts
++Offered coffee and even a local delicious dinner
+ Clean
OBS At the time of visit (jan24) locals very e x t r e m e l y pushy up to harassing in the rock churches and the streets towards me as a foreigner pleading money for various motives - the guest house was a nice relief and getaway from that!
-no hot water, water flow minimal

Mini Lalibela Guesthouse is a great place to stay, perfectly located, clean and affordable.
Birtukan the owner is adorable, very professional and really care of customers.
I highly recommend it.

We like a lot the crew in charge of the guest house. They were very kind and always talking care of us. Great people, you feel like a home. They enven invite US to a coffe ceremony. Anyway, the instalations were perfect and clean too. And delicious breakfast with honey from Lalibela.Very very good qualitat/prize.
4.7
best experience in Ethiopia, specially the coffee and food which the host provided!

Birtukan and Mesfen were very welcoming. Without asking anything, Mesfen came to pick us up at the bus station, and Birtukan offered us a coffee and a the.
During our whole stay, Birtukan, her sister and Mesfen were always here to maje sure everything was okay. Mesfen provides us a nice guide (Mule) to take us through the churches complex and he arranged our departure with a bus. The last evening Birtukan greated us with a nice farewell dinner.
The room is big and very clean. Toilets and bathroom are very clean too. The garden is very enjoyable and the location of the guest house is perfect, very close to the churches and the heart of the city.
Nothing. Everything is enjoyable about Mini Libela Guesthouse.
4.7
The room was clean and cosy. When we came to Lalibela the taxi was waiting for us on airport, even if we didn't order it before. Everything was organised perfectly. The hosts were really nice and helpful. Toilet also was clean, WiFi was fast. Good place for two days stay.
Sometimes there were no electricity but probably it was bigger problem, not the hotel fault.

I had a really good time staying at Mini Lalibela Guesthouse. Although in the map it is not located in the city center, it is practically close to all the important places where you can arrive in 10-15 minutes by foot: city center, churches and bus station. The girls who take care of the place always make sure you have a pleasant stay with clean room/bathroom and nice breakfast (on the last day they even invited me a dinner). As well as a safe stay with a security guard at night.
Also, I did a church-guided tour with a very decent and informative guide named, Mule. I appreciate his knowledge and manners a lot which made my visit to Lalibela very pleasantly memorable.
Other excursions like hiking (I did with Gashaw, a
joyful mountain guide) are also possible to do through the organization of the guesthouse or Mesfin, who will help you out with anything.
The light in the shared shower room was not working very well when I was there.

The host was just amazing, she was so careing, friendly, polite and welcoming. Everything perfect. I highly recommend.
Use the google maps location, not the booking location of the accommodation
4.7
Pick up from the airport was organized that was really helpful, the rooms were clean, comfortable beds and a delicious tradition food.

Birtukan is a very lovely host and great chef.i loved the view from the terrace
4.7
Birtukan is a wonderful host, full of attention and appreciation for her guests.
The guesthouse is simple, but it is a truly an authentic Ethiopian experience.
The breakfast which is included is superb. If you wish Birtukan and her sister also provide an excellent dinner. Highly recommended for all who are seeking a truly genuine Ethiopian experience.
4.7
The breakfasts were wonderful, and the staff were absolutely lovely. They made us lunch and a coffee ceremony one day, unasked for, and gave us coffee and tea often.
The light in our room was very harsh, other rooms had softer light. And, only one bathroom, but this was rarely an issue.
4.7
Ms. Birtukan and Ms. Asnka have been incredibly kind and welcoming.
The room was very clean, and the bathroom was been cleaned after every use.
They prepared us chai, bunna and also dinner!
Also, I am celiac and once informed, they prepared gluten free dinner and breakfast!
Absolutely recommended for short or longer stays.
4.7
The rooms were clean and very comfortable! Excellent staff and hospitality! Everything was beyond my expectations and overall great value for money!
Honestly nothing!

You can walk to all the churches from here. The rooms are clean and it’s a quiet area on the outskirts of the town. They only have a shared bathroom but it’s clean. Nice seating area under the tree. Lovely owner who makes eggs, bread and pancakes for breakfast. They can also help with taxis and guides.
4.7
the sisters that run the guesthouse are lovely and helpful and kind. I was taken care of and they helped me when i needed anything. best budget spot in the town!
4.7
Great family atmosphere. The sisters Birtukan and Eden and their staff care for all you may need, including very delicious meals.
For any organization of guided tours just tell them and they will take care.
4.7
nice quiet little guesthouse with incredibly helpful and kind staff/owners. A short walk to all you want to see.
4.7
It’s probably the best guesthouse I’ve ever stayed in my travels with the nicest hosts. Everyone is so nice and helpful there. They work with many great guides who can organise many kinds of tours around the city and to the mountains for really reasonable price.
I would highly recommend hiking to one of the villages in the mountains. My guide was Damena and he is a really nice guy and he was a great company. We stayed for a night with one of the local families in the mountains in a traditional Ethiopian house. It was absolutely amazing experience! Highly highly recommend! The only thing, I would recommend buying some school supplies for the local school. I wish I knew how in need they were.
I stayed at the guesthouse for few days and the ladies offered to cook a traditional dinner for me and other guests. The dinner was simply, but it was the best meal I had in Lalibela. Also, they performed a traditional coffee ceremony which was nice to see.
The guesthouse was built about 4-5 years ago, so everything is pretty new. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable.
I will definitely stay there again if I will come back to Lalibela.
Absolutely nothing to complain about

The two ladies who took care of the place were really nice and cooked delicious food as well. The two guides associated with the hotel were also very helpful.
4.7
Staff extremely sweet--very kindly. Beds very comfy, very clean.
Well, this isn't a problem for able-bodied folk, which is most ppl. But i have slight mobility challenges, so going up & down that steep slope to hostel was a bit tricky---esp at night, when it's raining! No lights+ lots of mud = accidents waiting to happen!

people working there was really nice. Place really cleaned
4.7
This is by far my best stay in Ethiopia. The place is clean, quiet and the hospitality is amazing. you are less than 10 minutes walking distances from the churches. Is attending by three beautiful young girls that will made everything possible to help you and feel welcome.
4.7
The place is insane clean, the room smell good, and the host is the most incredible and helpful person.
The location is unbeatable. 15 min walking from church ticket office. There is not a better option for the same price.
4.7
The staff is really nice and they help with anything you need. Everything is really clean and is also close to the churches (15 min walk).
The bathroom is outside, but is not that much of a deal cause it’s 2 meters away from the room.
4.7
bed was comfortable location is short 10 minutes walk to town center and all churches, breakfast was great and the gurls went out of their way to make me coffee from scratch and by scratch i mean picking the beans from the tree baking and making coffee with full traditional ethiopian coffee ceremony! they also arranged everything for me , shuttle from and to the airport and an amazing very knowledgeable and kind guide! thank you

The Guesthouse was very nice and clean as seen in the photos. There was a lot of natural light and the area was quiet.
The host was extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. She answered all of our questions about Lalibela and beyond. We really enjoyed our stay there.
4.7
A lovely little place not far from town center. We were welcomed and treated by the charming ms. Brtukan and her sister who took care of all our needs. The place is kept tidy, despite being pretty basic. Recently there is no electricity supply in Lalibela, so Brtukan provided us with a solar charged bulb.
The rooms are spacious and mattresses are comfy. The shared toilet and shower is tidy to the max.
A bit far from town center but nothing a short walk or bajaj ride can't fix.
Nothing really. Lovely little and tranquil place located in one of the wonders of the world - Lalibela.
4.7
amazing hospitality very clean and comfortable rooms and the location is very good with beautiful sunset. waking up here is so relaxing because you hear only birds. top place.
4.7
an amazing staff here! Asnka is so friendly and helpful. she prepared an amazing breakfast every morning. very clean and bright room with a view off the balcony. clean bathrooms. centrally located easy walking distance to everything. staff also helped arrange onward travel for me.
as a solo traveler it was such a delight to be welcomed and taken care of like family.
can not say enough great things about Mini Lalibela.
there is nothing about this guest house that is bad. it is the best value in Lalibela.

My stay at Mini Lalibela was great to say the least. The place is managed by three sisters. They go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The place is super clean, situated close to the bus stop, atm, restaurants and the churches and they have a nice outdoor seating area where you can have your dinner or breakfast. The rooms are spacious, the bed is comfy and you can easily have a warm shower. Although Lalibela still has no electricity they provide delicious breakfast, coffee and dinner. We had dinner by candlelight every night due to the lack of electricity. They have a guide in the family who can take you to the churches and monasteries or who can take you into the mountains of Lalibela. I did a three day tour to Abune Yusef and I definitely can recommend. The mother of the family made shiro powder for me, the girls learned me how to make shiro with injera and we had a lovely coffee ceremony. The family knows the area well and are very helpful with organizing transport, tours etc.I definitely recommend staying with them when you are in Lalibela.

We felt so welcomed by Helen, Fassika and Aiden. The guesthouse has such a great family atmosphere. The breakfast is very tasty. The room is basic but sufficient for the stay. Since there is no electricity in Lalibela since a few months ago, we spent our evenings with candles. We were the only guests there so the shower and toilet were only used by us.
4.7
I love the three sisters that run the place. They are a bunch of hard working lovely girls. They are going to de everything on their power to make you feel at home and confortable.
I didn't like the situation Lalibela is going through. They have lack of tourists and this is causing an effect in poverty and unemployment.
4.7
This family owned guesthouse run by two young sisters is amazing. From warm welcome to super breakfast and bonus christmas and Sunday lunches, Birkutan and Eden went all out to attend to travellers' needs. The house is located 5 minutes from the bus station (walkable distance) and so is very convenient. It's quiet with a superb sunset view from the terrace. We really loved our stay here. Thanks so much, Birkutan and Eden!

Basic and comfortable. Best breakfast
