My daughter and I stayed for a week in this appartment. Everything was there wat we needed: friendly host (quick response) kitchenequipment (even with delicious teabags), bathroom, nice bed and good towels, easy functioning central heating. We even could park our bikes in a stable. The only thing we missed was a lazy chair to sit in after our long cyclingtours and walks.

The annex we stayed in was lovely ..it had all the basic amenities you needed and John had left bread and milk for us ...
The annex is attached to their home and John was very helpful when needed ....
Situated right on the edge of the forest it is a lovely location for walks and enjoying the beautiful New Forest ..
You are advised to probably bring a food shop with you though there is a coop in the village ( 5 minutes in car/ 40 minute walk.) Christchurch isn't far away a lovely place to visit..
All in all a very relaxing stay..thank you John!

A very cosy annex attached to the main house. The owners were very friendly (as were the dogs) and were on hand if I needed anything. The thing that really impressed me was how peaceful the location is - those wishing some night life would be very disappointed! A shortish walk to both Bransgore and Burley, though the elderly and infirm may struggle with some of the hills. A shorter walk (approx. 15 mins.) across the valley to the edge of the New Forest with its wild ponies and cattle. A place to relax and charge up the batteries.

Good Central location for the New Forest and Bournemouth beaches. We chose it because it was dog friendly and iy certainly was, with a secure area to let the dog out. Directions to the property were a little sketchy and the owner appeared a bit grumpy becsuse we had used the wrong gate. Generally the place was warm and comfortable but could have been a bit cleaner

Great spot for long dog walks. Really quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. John is a gracious host and leaves you to your own devices - his dogs are absolutely lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night break and intend to return.

Conveniently nestled away from the busy pace of life. This minimal, fancy free property still offers the needed and welcome comforts for rest and time out. Offering lovely views and a perfect central starting point for walks and drives to the surrounding areas. A lovely retreat, which we thoroughly enjoyed, thank you.

We wanted somewhere to head off from for walks & bike rides in the New Forest. John & his wife were friendly & extremely helpful & their two dogs are absolutely gorgeous. We were given space to stash our bikes out of the weather, which was an added bonus. The property was ideally located for us, off the beaten track but with a local shop reasonably nearby, with a lovely garden. John recommended a great pub just a few minutes drive away & we ended up eating there every night.

Lovely place, owners friendly and thoughtful and a great location for New Forest. Would have enjoyed the stay more if the garden area had been separate from the owner's - our dog didn't enjoy their dogs regularly bounding up to the doors and she was stressed. Would have made a huge difference if they were unable to enter our 'space' whenever they wanted to; or at least for this to be explained before we booked. Apart from that, I would recommend, especially as the owners changed our dates at very short notice due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you 😊

Great location, especially for our two miniature Schnauzers, enclosed paddock for them to run free. Very clean one bedroom selfcontained apartment, lots of little extras, ie shampoo, hand wash, tea, coffee Sugar, milk and lots moor, very much recommended by my husband and I.

Fresh, clean and very comfortable. Relaxing peaceful location with immediate access to the lovely walks in the forest and heathland, great for cycling too.. Kitchen was well provided and easy to use,. The house keeper was freindly and helpful and also gave great respect for our privacy and we felt quite at home throughout our stay. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back..

Although we were given directions, we did struggle to find property on arrival as no sign on gate. Apartment was a good size for 2 people, comfortable bed and everything was catered for. Host was pleasant.

Excellent week away
We are just back from a lovely relaxing week away. The bungalow had everything we needed in a peaceful setting. The owner and his wife were on hand if we had needed them and gave us information on places to visit etc. The 2 resident dogs are gorgeous, it was just a shame our old dog wasn't feeling very sociable and barked at them on every possible occasion! (Sorry about that )

Lovely annexe, beautiful setting
This ‘flat’ is actually a lovely self contained annexe on the owners property. It has its own entrance and plenty of space for parking. It is well equipped, clean and comfortable with a beautiful outlook over the owners private gardens/paddocks. Perfect for a couple or an individual if you like peace & quiet.
It’s also ideal if you have a friendly, sociable dog as there are two large resident friendly dogs who enjoy a run around and there is plenty of space for them to do so! Our dog loved it and will miss their company!!
Highly recommend this annexe!

Family visit
Well equipped property in a fantastic location for the New Forest.

Clean and well equipped.
In easy reach of the coast, quiet location. Owners have a paddock for dog exercise but this is not secure. Owners thoughtfully provided essential provisions, and there were frozen meals in freezer although we did not partake. The double bed was not particularly comfortable and we both ended up rolling into the middle. We would have liked a small fenced off area outside of the doors for the dogs to safely take a pee and have a sniff, as we had to keep the doors closed and this would be unpleasant in hot weather.

Birthday break
We enjoyed a lovely weekend away for my birthday. The property was in a great location and we enjoyed meals at the carpenters arms and the crown. We enjoyed exploring the local area and would recommend Barton on Sea.
The property was well equipped and the added extras of essential items like bread, milk and coffee, tea and orange juice were very welcome.
Our puppy enjoyed the outdoor space and meeting the owners 2 dogs. The only slight downside is the garden was not fully enclosed.
I would nevertheless highly recommend this property.

A Hidden Treasure
We had a two night stay with our pet. The flat was lovely and private with a lot more amenities than we expected. Very dog friendly and plenty of trails to walk your pets. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend. We will be back.
