Amazing location right by People's Park; hotel has a fantastic charm and character to it whilst still being comfortable. The staff are super helpful.

The property is in perfect location. The building is beautiful. The room was spacious and clean and we had a very comfortable stay. The room was cleaned every day and towels were change and all toiletries restocked. There was a nespresso machini and free coffee capsules in the room. Sheets were super clean and fresh and the bed very comfortable. The view was also very nice. Toilet is very nice, with heated seats and quite modern.
Because of the humidity in the air, the room smells a bit damp, despite the dehumidifier in the room.
We had to extend the stay for one day, and the second room (standard twin room) was very outdated, wallpaper falling out, old carpet, no dehumidifier and quite expensive.

La posizione è ottima, praticamente al centro di Shanghai, quindi vicino alla Metro con la quale si può arrivare ovunque. La famosa via pedonabile Nanjing Road è a 100 mt

This is a historical hotel in a central location; it has a charm of its own.
The rooms are a bit old and the whole place feels like a government-managed hotel from the 1990s: again there is a charm in this, but if you are looking for better facilities and service you will probably find them elsewhere.

The first of all I liked the air con/except bit of noise/ and the bed. The bed was perfect not too soft, not too hard also doesn't heat the body. Moreover I must admit that I really enjoyed the breakfast. Not too Chinese, not much spice also plenty of options to choose. Finally in the second floor they have a nice fitness center which is way better than the other . There are lots of restaurants around the place.
Room Wifi was too slow to use so I had to buy Data from overseas. We had booked the hotel several days ago therefore had given our credit card information. The reception had cancelled our order without which was frustrating. She claimed that she had tried to call us to confirm whether we are coming or not. Unfortunately we don't speak Chinese also we were on the way to Guangzhou. Luckily they had available rooms. I wish they speak English.

An excellent location, so close to the metro station and shops. Staff were helpful and breakfast was decent.
Nothing in particular. If I had to be really picky, I would say the carpet on the corridors, which was so thick that made it hard for me to push a luggage.

Good position very close to walking area. Very good looking hotel and room.
At first the reception staff said that they gave away my room just because I mentioned that I would arrive at 6 and I arrived at 6.35 due to traffic jam. It seemed that there was no more room available when suddenly one appeared.
They also asked for 500RMB deposit that was not mentioned before. Got it back smoothly the day after anyway.

The room was huge and had a nice bathroom with a bath and a shower. It even had a heated toilet! The staff didn't speak much English but were friendly enough even going out of their way to help me to the airport at the end of my stay. The location is very central and you can walk to some key areas. The metro is literally just accross the road.
It could be frustrating trying to communicate in Chinese, definitely not a place to stay if you know no Chinese!

Location is exellent.
Tram is very close and cheap.
Staff are all friendly.
That Hotel is in the Center of Shanghai and Shanghai is a Hotspot in the world and it was not possible for me to pay by Visa card or Amex card.
Second point is that most of staff cannot speak english. I was a bit dissapointed.

This 4-star hotel is ideally located to People's Square Park and the People's Square Line 1 Metro (Red) - exits 8 and 9 are closest to it. Also, a short walk from the shopping area that takes you to The Bund. In addition, the Shanghai History Museum is just a few minutes walk away. The staff were accommodating and polite.
The only complaint I had was that the AC in my room was ineffective; even when on high and cool settings, the room was still warm. I asked for the AC to be checked. No problems were found. The main vent is the middle of the T-shaped room, and it seemed that the cool air did not manage to get to all parts. One end of the room had a sofa, chair and lamp; at the other end, the bed.

Staff didn’t even look up at me when checking in or when checking out. They don’t take credit cards. Windows are so old you can’t even see out of them, they are foggy. The air conditioner makes a rattling sound all night. When we asked for toothbrushes, we were told to go to the front desk to get them. When we extended our stay because of the typhoon, we had to pay ANOTHER deposit. The hotel is dark, dingy and depressing, and the staff go along with that description.
