Nice staff, central location in the French Quarter of Shanghai, metro close by. Visited the hotel again on departure for this reason.

I like the Breakfast which has a good combination for Chinese and Japanese.
By comparison to some other new hotels, the hotel is getting a little bit old.

Always my best choice I'm Shanghai

As a Shanghainese, this time was my first time staying there. It surprised me. Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai is very famous for its food, butter cookies & service. The room is super clean, detailed and comfortable. If you want to know more about Shanghai, traditional/ modern. it’s definitely among the best hotels in Shanghai. The location is perfect, the metro is nearby. I am super impressed. Also, thank you Miss Li Hua Feng 李化凤(receptionist) for the professional service.

perfect location
shower water is very weak, can barely get my long hair cleaned.
No iron or ironing board in the room, after I called for it they delivered me a broken one to my room.
Sorry to say it was a disappointing stay.

Breakfast is not good as 5 star hotel level.
Service is ok but perfect.

staff is really friendly and professional, especially Mrs. Le from the reception, clearly she shows she loves the job, put guests as priority.

the hotel is seriously getting old

Central with beautiful surroundings, this hotel had excellent customer service as well as lovely rooms.
All staff were friendly and happy to help even if they couldn’t speak English (as my mandarin is poor).
It was a little cheeky charging to use the swimming pool.

Overall very satisfied , would probably go there again
Need to be more efficient on check in & check out with foreigner guests ...it took almost 30 min for the check in , while for other guests it took less then 5 minutes

Breakfast was great! Hygiene concept is Great! Custom made omelette were to the point on each day! The park belonging to the hotel is really a nice haven of peace in the center of a 24m city! Location is very convenient. Water pressure in the bath is outstanding and filtered potable water is really special.
Rooms are a bit outdated and small. Bed is smaller than usual at this star level (150?).

Perfect location
Facilities are a bit old

The breakfast was incredible for two reasons: It takes place in one of the older and historical part of the building and second the quality and diversity of the food was excellent.
The staff was helpful
Excellent location and nice garden
For the executive floor the size of the room is a bit small (it is the same as normal rooms with a bigger bathroom) although it remained comfy.

Service, buffet, Japanese-ish level of service standards.
Having to pay for gym use at a 5 star hotel is a bit grating.

The location
Check in - needlessly having to wait until 2pm to check in despite the fact many people were also waiting far earlier than this and they could quite easily have checked everyone in and allowed people to collect their key at 2pm when the rooms were ready. Instead, 2pm came and a massive queue had already formed and took at least half an hour for us to be seen (4 people at the desk and only 2 serving). Others were told the wait could be 1.5 hours - I mean this isn’t disneyland where one might expect this but just a hotel check in procedure!
Price - to wait for check in to start, we went to the bar to order a sprite. Bill came - 55rmb plus service charge took this to 64rmb and I would love to hear their justification for what is potentially a breach of local trading standard regulations. The hotel and its customers both know that this exorbitant inflation is nothing more than a callous act of greed.
Their so called Happy Hour prices seemed utterly disingenuous- buy one get one free kirin draft beer? More like buy two at the same time for the price of 4! Oh, and don’t dare attempt to share your Happy Hour with another person you are with according to their posters.
Facilities - with a sparse gym offering limited equipment, I was using the soft mats provided to do HIIT exercises (usually mats are provided in any gym but these were the only two available). I was rudely ordered off of the mats by their jobs worth gym supervisor whose main job role clearly was to simply micromanage the customers and school them when necessary. Suffice to say, I ignored her demand for me to move because there was no signage insisting that we could not use the mats in this way (plus anyone with common sense recognizes that this is in the fact the purpose of such mats).

the facilities are somewhat old. the furnishing style is outdated. The bedding is a little too soft so that it doesn't help my back relax well. Overall I would expect more out of such price. Also, no delivery is allowed in the hotel.

Staff is very polite and helpful. Cleanliness. Place is very good, nice garden
Prices and assortments in lobby and Rose

The location is excellent. very good facilities, nice staff and also good breakfast (including Western choices).
I was asked to leave a rather substantial deposit upfront (larger than the cost of the room for my stay).

Location is awesome.
In-room facility look a bit outdated but overall fulfills the needs.
