Was ja sehr gut ist.

The hotel is located in the middle of a reserved park, which for those looking to do trekking is great, for people looking to ski and get to know the area plus have dinner outside the hotel this is not the place. It is in the middle of nowhere with very limited access.
The hotel staff was truly nice, you could see they wanted to please the clients and were willing to help if needed. From the boss to the shuttle driver they were all very candid and warm. Something to be appreciated.
The shuttle bus offered only works until 18:00 forcing you to have dinner a the hotel or greatly limiting your dinner options, they did offer an extra shuttle for 60€ but that would be maximum until 22:00 meaning if you had a dinner at 20:00 you would have to literally leave int he middle to reach the shuttle. Non sensical in my opinion.
The hotel is vegetarian, thus if you are lactose intolerant prepare yourself as their morning menu is mainly composed of cheese, milk, yoghurt and all dairy products. They did offer alternative such as bread and cereal, for those non gluten the options are limited, all they had was bread. So if you are lactose intolerant and Celiac your breakfast will be reduced to either eggs, hard as rock apples or hard as rock kiwis for that is all the fruit they had. For those seeking rich in protein breakfast this is not your place.

Great room (two floors connected by a steep ladder) with a picturesque view to the Fex-valley. really quiet, because it's outside of the village, situated in a small hamlet in the Valley. You can reach the hotel also by feet in about 15 minutes from the next bus station by following a beautiful track throng a canyon and over mountain meadows...so don't come with a trolley case...:-)
Everything's fine.

Beautiful property! Excellent service. Multilingual staff.
Having to leave.

The location
The dinner was overpriced ($3.00 for a glass of tap water?) $14 for wine that was already off?).The staff was uninterested in trying to help me solve transportion issues. I have never been in a facility where, to a person, the staff was seemingly bored and checked out. The driver who took me back to my car at the end of the trip was the exception. No water in the room (an empty carafe) Hair dryer didn't work.

The valley is stunning and it is car-free . I was amazed by how beautiful it is. The pension was lovely and very comfortable.
We had a few bad experiences:
1) when we checked in, the staff did not pick up that we had three rooms under my booking. She checked us in for one room and then went on to check in other customers, whilst it was obvious that we were a group of 5 people waiting together. We had to wait for the other customers to be checked in and then I asked her if there was a problem with the booking. Then she figured out her mistake.
2)The staff also made a mistake when we checked in and told us we were in half-pension (i.e. evening meal and breakfast included) . I had made this booking a while ago so I could not remember and said ok. She came back one hour later, visibly angry and told me that it was not the case and that if we wanted to have dinner at the pension we should pay the supplement for the set-menu +breakfast. I said ok for the set menu as I felt a bit pressured and could not think in the moment of finding other options, given the pension is car-free and there are no restaurants around. The breakfast was 20 francs which is expected for Switzerland but the set menu was quite expensive : 50 F
3) The set menu was vegetarian only (which was fine by us) but I therefore expected something really tasty for this price . We had a grilled half aubergine, a beetroot risotto and a baked sweet potato with a bit of fennel salad on top plus a dessert (carrot cake). Nothing was tasty except the dessert ; I honestly could have done better myself with any good vegetarian recipe book and I'm far from being a great cook.
4) After checking out, we wanted to let know the reception staff that we would take the shuttle back to the town/parking later in the afternoon. The staff member got mistaken and thought we wanted to get a lift to the town without having reserved the shuttle in advance and said we'd have to pay 30 F for it. It took 5 minutes of heated discussion to find out that as checking-out guests, we had a guaranteed seat in the shuttle, hence it was full...

Outstanding location at the Val Fex - one of the most beautiful valleys I know.
A million dollar view from the terrace where you'll have breakfast.
They charge you quite a bit for the dinner (not many alternatives around as you're bound to their shuttle service to the next town - you're not allowed to go by your own car as it's a car-free valley)

Location
Quiet and beautiful surroundings
Great breakfast
Restaurant portions were a bit small given the price and the vegetarian options weren't very creative.

This place is really something special. Amazing peaceful location with stunning mountain views about 20 minutes walk from Sils. Genuinely personalized and attentive welcome from the team. Extremely comfortable rooms, sunny terrace, delicious food. We took the half board option which actually works out very good value for the Engadin. Thanks so much for the stay, Susanne and team!

The food here is outstanding. We really enjoyed the locally sourced, home cooked meals. The cheeses were so tasty and such a variety! The breakfast included a cheese board each day that changed, muesli, eggs, yogurt, fresh baked bread, jams, fruit, teas and coffee. It really was a great start to the day.
In the evenings we had dinner at the hotel and enjoyed fresh salads, delicious made from scratch salad dressings, local meats, cheese fondue, pasta of excellent quality. The wine cellar is extensive and we had perfect wine pairings with the food.
Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious. We had a pretty view up the Fex Valley. We used the ample first floor storage room to keep our ski gear in during our stay. It has snow shoes, ski racks and boot dryers for the use of the guests. There is also a Library where guests can read and play games. This is a lovely addition to your stay.
We really like the peace and quiet here and the nature. This was our second visit and it was just as wonderful as the first.
