BBB

Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff, incredible location.
It’s an old building and I could hear my neighbors very clearly, but it never impacted my sleep. People were respectful during sleeping hours and the sound from outside was minimal.

Everything!!

The place had a lot of character. The staff, despite our terrible Spanish, really made us feel welcome. We even got a super early check in after a night bus which is always a bonus. Thanks guys. Lovely stay. The bed was super comfortable!!
Might not be ideal if you're a light sleeper as the square is a little noisy due to it being an old building. We didn't have an issue.

The staff were great help, very kind and friendly. Also the building, a historical structure, made me feel like transported to a different era.
Smelly through the corridors and rooms.

Beautiful old renovated building! Staff are super helpful and the place clean.
Perfect location to explore the city.
No coffee service.

No food yet. Building is very old, a classic from 1910. Creaky wooden stairs, high ceilings, a jewel of history located in the very center. Easy access to anywhere in Valpo. No elevator! Staff was the best!
Street noise esp. a discoclub out there.

It’s very close to both the harbour and interesting neighborhood’s and shopping .

Location not touristy.
No coffeemaker. Also I’m old & no elevator.

Good price (with respect to other options in Valparaiso available when I book); overall good location: it is down the hills, but close to the most interesting areas; easy parking nearby
The hotel is old-style (you can see from the pics); no aircon; busy road, so you can't leave the window open; no elevetor and steep stairway - and my room was at the third floor. Cleaning of the room should be improved

walls are thin

I liked the location, the room was very clean and tidy, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was also very clean and very nice.
I could heard people from other rooms, what were they talking, or if they were watching TV or having sex.

The front desk personnel was very attentive and heartwarming.
Andrés from the front desk specially was very kind and friendly.
Very high ceilings kept the room cool in the summer.
No children were running around during our stay.
There was the possibility of receiving tea cups and hot water, without additional charges.
The bed lining was not fully white (the sheets and pillow cases were white but the duvet cover was colorful, which hid some stains).
The high ceilings made the stairs a little worrisome for us with mobility issues, but was manageable.
You could hear a lot of noise from other rooms, but this is explained due to the fact that the building is very old and part of Valparaíso's patrimony.

Complicated question. The location for the fireworks and ease of getting to attractions was great, but the streets surrounding the hotel are basically dead.
Lack of an outdoor area to sit, how the staff handled my complaint of other guests smoking in the building (day desk clerk was great, night clerk treated me like I was crazy) not providing additional information that would make my stay more helpful such as the fact that food and water are hard to come by after 19;00 close to the hotel and especially on New Years Day.

Convenient location overlooking Sotomayer square about 2 blocks from water front, supermarket, laundry, and metrostation. The information reception provided us on arrival 1st day and the attention at breakfast time was good. Interesting British heritage hotel with antiques, fun displays and royal room names. Crickitty 4 story wood staircase. Room fridge.
The building is drafty. There is a fry restaurant under one side, and odor enters habitacion. Exterior is in decay and you can hear rats in the drainpipes. The walls are thin. The night shift worker who listens to the radio talk show all night and smokes at the front desk against hotel's own policy. ! Beware Friday and Saturday night double discos loud noise until near dawn--you'll need earplugs if trying to sleep. Or you might rally & walk the half block to see and live Valpo vampire culture and go back to sleep after it's over.

This boutique hotel is placed exactly at center of the most famous square of Valparaiso. Outside is astonishing and inside is very well keept. My room had very high ceiling and difficult to warm; the bathroom was too tiny.
