Prachtige locatie

Vriendelijke ontvangst en een snelle check-in. Fijne kamer en een goed bed. Fietsen kun je veilig stallen. Prachtige locatie. Het centrum van Walbeck ligt op 2 kilometer.

Beautiful Castle Stay.

Picturesque and historic castle. Grounds and staff were friendly and very helpful.

No restaurant, although it was stated at time of booking. In my defence, I was on a bike and soaking wet!

The breakfast buffet was fresh, wide and tasty, the location was nice in a natural environment

The rooms are very outdated and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in the corridors. The floors in the corridor are very creaky so inside the room you can hear every movement from other people. The view is not much and inside the room you can't notice that you stay in a castle. The bathroom is made with very cheap materials and you have hardly any room to turn around. The room is not nicely decorated and the bed doesn't sleep very well. The value for money is not good considering the condition of the outdated hotel. That is a pity because I think it can be much better if the hotel would be renovated with respect for the authentic aspects of the castle.

The location and the building are amazing. The staff is very nice.

Just a few small things. The beds were a little hard, the blankets a little short and the bedside tables a little small.

A Great stay

Great location between Germany and the Netherlands. Peace and quiet. Beautiful park and fields. Beautiful castle and surroundings. Excellent breakfast. Brilliant and friendly staff. A small "minus" is that there is no fully functioning restaurant. You have to make an appointment and order in advance (and only for groups) to have a barbecue. Fortunately for us, we joined one of the groups that a few people didn't reach. BBQ cooked food was great. However, if you want to eat something, you can order a pizza or a steak from nearby restaurants, and if you don't speak German, the staff will do it for you.

No fully operational restaurant to eat on site any time.

Very nice castle, lot of things to do around.

The only that we find not nice is the floor on the second because its wood and as well the bed. everytime you move or walk around its noisy. we can even hear the next room when moving while on the bed and walking.

Disappointed in our accommodations.

The grounds were beautiful. Breakfast was in a lovely designed room and delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The facility used to be a Youth Retreat Center. I was disappointed. It felt like our stay was in a university dormitory. Once they update the rooms inside the Schloss I believe this will be a wonderful place to stay.

if you-re expectations are high, keep searching ...

interesting place - a real castle quiet location staff friendly and helpful fair breakfast clean (ish)

- floor too loud, if you are not single don't go to the bathroom in the night, you will wake up the entire Germany (and NL) - the shower can't be used normally (not even 1sqm total space with the door about 40cm and a 70-80cm step ) - smells bad in the room but after 1-2 hours you will not notice anymore

Great breakfast for a reasonable price. Amazing park for kids (splielplatz). Natural farm (experience for kids). Lots of

imagine a castle in the forest! and you are entitled to spent some nights just inside of it. This is already a great experience! Nice cozy rooms, everything clean and working fine.

Pleasant overnight stay with nice breakfast.

We were able to check in early and staff were very helpful. Lovely courtyard area and great underground cellar with drinks and games. Really enjoyed the breakfast and my husband was pleased there were eggs and bacon!

Bathroom had an unpleasant smell, masked by air freshener.

Staff was very friendly and catered to all our needs. Our room was nice and big with all the basics in good order. Breakfast was a nice buffet.
