About this cottage rental

Bluebird Hideaway is our new, Cape Cod style Vacation Rental. We hope that you will be as charmed as we are by this lovely, private place. Just up the hill from this cottage is our first, and very successful vacation rental, Black Mountain Hideaway, property number 410121, which is rated 4.9/5 star rating, with 200 excellent reviews.

Morning coffee and any meals enjoyed on the covered porch, will often be accompanied by many varieties of bird's singing. If you follow the covered porch around to the side porch, you'll find the private Hot tub area where you can enjoy the evening sky, filled with stars. Down 2 steps from there and you'll be in the bbq grilling area and near the fire pit.

Inside, you'll find that the main floor could be all that a couple would need to be comfortable. There is a completely equipped kitchen and dining area, a cozy living room, and one spacious bedroom with a queen size bed, and bathroom with shower.

If you are traveling with another couple or bringing the children along, the second floor has a very quaint bedroom with a queen size bed, and bathroom with shower. The second floor also has a loft area, open to the kitchen below. Here you will find a reading nook with a Trundle Bed to snuggle up in, with books, games, puzzles, and children's books. The Trundle bed is a twin bed with a second twin bed stored beneath it.

The cottage is an enjoyable stroll through Cheshire Village to the Cheshire Village Shops, where you'll find the Artisan Shop to have your morning coffee and roll or sandwich, or you might enjoy the wonderful Sake Sushi Restaurant at lunchtime. Another great restaurant in Cheshire is the Black Bear Restaurant for delicious evening meal choices.

Approximately 3 minutes by car to the Historic downtown Black Mountain gift shops, antiques, and some of the many wonderful restaurants.
Another 15 minutes to the Asheville Arts, Entertainment, Breweries, and Restaurants.

A very quiet and relaxing getaway, very convenient location. Owners were very prompt with responses. We loved the front porch, encounter lots of wildlife in front yard which was wonderful to see! Only negative is I wish the place was a little cleaner and to have more up to date cable ( we had tons of rain while we were there so connecting to smart tv was challenging). Overall it was a good experience and would recommend staying

Really cool little place; and an efficient use of space. Outdoor areas are great for kids and pets (and adults, too). Easy and short drive to town. Would definitely stay here again.

This was so easy, simple, and the cabin made the stay very memorable. Everything we needed was available and just far enough from Asheville to be "in" town. The town of Black Mountain was very quaint and provided a good walk through the town with lunch on our Saturday- restaurant recommendation the "pure & proper" thanks for opening your cabin - "we'll be back"

I absolutely hands down recommend this lovely house for anyone. Immaculate, convenient to everything yet it feels like miles away, and completely handicapped accessible which is so rare! Looking forward to staying here again for a longer visit!! Thank you!!

The Bluebird was the perfect house for my family to use as a home base for our daughter's wedding weekend in Black Mountain. We enjoyed the hot tub at night when we could unwind and talk about the day's festivities. It is convenient to restaurants and a really nice grocery store. We would use it again!

We were traveling with adults and little ones. We have previously stayed at the owner’s property up the hill, and loved it. When I was looking to book a slightly larger home, I immediately decided to book this one! It is minutes from the center on Black Mountain and a grocery store, yet it feels very private. The house is great, but the porch and hot tub are the real stars!

Bluebird Hideaway was a lovely place to stay for our family! It was so close and convenient to downtown Black Mountain (5 min) but still felt like a private cabin in the woods. We visited for the Black Mountain Marathon which was so convenient to this location. We had a great meal at the Trailhead Restaurant. Otherwise the cabin was comfortable and felt big (family of 5, 3 young kids and our old pup). The cabin had everything needed and was perfect for relaxing. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time to explore. We will have to come back again!

The photos in the listing do not do this place justice! It is so cute with very nice finishes. The location was perfect. We really enjoyed the spacious rooms and the hot tub! Would love to come back and stay here again (and hopefully see a bear!)

The house was very dirty when we arrived however the homeowner was so quick to respond and fix the problem and very kind which was not the property owners fault! It was a very cute home tucked away and we really enjoyed spending Christmas here ! I loved that I could bring my dog weigh us and kids had enough space and enjoyed it as well! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home !

The cabin is lovely and the owners notified me early on with the check-in information. The cabin has two rooms and a bed in a hallway nook. We had three adults and slept great.

Even though we didn’t need it, the downstairs was accessible for people with mobility issues. Loved the proximity to Black Mountain, grocery store, dining and trails. The neighborhood felt safe. Private yet not remote. The hot tub was a relaxing way to end our days. The outside temps were below freezing and the tub was a toasty 104! Would suggest a rug by the door leading to the hot tub. Kitchen was well stocked including all the supplies you might need ie detergent, coffee filters, garbage bags etc. Plenty of towels. Owner was easily reached. We have no negative comments and will definitely consider this house for our next trip.

We love this house and location. It is very easy check-in and the location is very close to Black Mountain downtown, Asheville, and Hendersonville. We have already booked 2 weeks next year and will be exploring more of the area as well as driving into Gatlinburg, TN for a day. The owners are excellent with communications.

This was our second stay here. We love how convenient it is to the downtown and the grocery store. Our hosts have thoughtfully stocked the home so that everything we would need is there. Also love the hot tub!

We stayed here because we were going to a wedding at Chrismount. The house is spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and bright. The views out the window were colorful. Close to anything you need. Enjoyed being able to bring our dog too. Saw the bear in plenty of time to get indoors. Black Mountain was a hidden treasure. Would love to return. Thank you for sharing your cabin.

We love this home. Our 2nd time staying there. The owners were great. The home is beautiful and the location is wonderful. The hot tub is nice but we enjoyed rocking on the front porch looking for bears. We will stay here again!

Saw the bear as stated in numerous reviews at 6pm while sitting on porch and also while soaking in the hot tub. Lots of good food Lucy Juicy was my favorite burger. Lots of activities most things we did were in Asheville. Nice visitor center in black mountain. We hiked roaring forks trail it is closer to strenuous. Catabwa falls is closed. Excellent place to stay and the host we’re fantastic. We are looking forward to another trip.

Absolutely perfect for what we were looking for, for a holiday getaway. I feel like this was a steal considering what we got. Only bummed that after reading the first book, everyone sees bears and we didn't see them :( guess we need to come back to see them ;)
