Nice hotel and spa with friendly staff.
Clean and comfortable.
Great location a few minutes walk from the town.
Main communal areas very pleasant.
Wouldn't class as 4 star, bedroom a little tired in places.
Restaurant food uninspiring and quality poor (had to complain about main course).
9.0
Excellent location, welcoming staff and comfortable room. Very good breakfast.

Breakfast was good value for money I think
The sink in the bathroom didn’t empty properly I think it had a blockage
The toilet flush was too strong water come out of the bowl and the shower head was not very clean
Evening meal was expensive for the food you received

Duty manager was pleasant
January I booked and paid for a double room with bath to stay in July, when I arrived I was given a single room with a shower, was informed that despite having booked a room 7 month previously there was no availability for a double room that night, I was then told 'we did email some people to explain there was refurbishment work happening but as you are single we didn't think you would mind having a single room'
I was moved to another room that wasn't actually ready for public use yet, I accepted however, was not informed that there was no wifi or connected TV. I was given a bottle of wine as an apology, have since emailed hotel 3 weeks ago and not even a reply, extremely disappointed!

The hotel is situated in a fantastic location.
it looks like a lovely traditional built from the outside, however, dated 90s decore internally.
the spa looks lovely and pleasant.
Breakfast was good and recommended..
Our room was cold!!
it was the end of the corridor room with two walls to the outside. the heating is one radiator and to save money it's not working 24/7. so the minute the radiator is off the room gets cold and quickly becomes unpleasant. the radiator works in the morning and afternoon only, not during midday and not ain the evening and night. with 2 degrees temperature outside, it was cold in the room during the night. i did inform reception and all I got was "Oh Well..".
No proper WiFi !
WiFi APs (access points) are on the ceiling in the corridors and as we had the end of the corridor room, it was as far as it could get from the AP and had no cover in our room!! of course, there is nothing that reception can do about that...
Access to the SPA required additional payment!
we just spent £286 on two nights in this hotel and further booked £140 of treatments at the SPA, yet, to actually get access to the spa pool, we were further charged £10 per hour, per person??
the whole gimmick about this Hotel is the SPA, so why are the hotel residents charged to get access to the SPA, they could have booked a stay anywhere else for less money and arrived at the SPA as day users and paid exactly the same..
When I asked about that I was told that if i had booked with them directly, i would have been given a one-off 1 hour access to the SPA.. so there is something to know. As I had booked via Booking .com this is not a courtesy extended to me.
I have been to other SPA hotels, this is the fist one that i came across as charging the residents for access ti the only pool/spa facilities available
Also, it feels like everything is about money in that hotel.
from booking to arrival I had 6 emails suggesting to upgrade my visit, all at my cost of course, then, at the SPA there is a cost for robe hire and towel hire.

Great locations
Food in the pub at hotel was very average.
7.0
Location, garden view, comfortable bed, free parking, hydrotherapy pool.
Set 2 course menu for Sunday meal when only wanted light supper. Thought that servicing room meant no cleaning and towel change but would have expected top ups of tea tray as standard.

Location was good, free 1 hour spa access was good too. Only stayed one night so didn’t eat at the hotel/restaurant at all. Staff seemed very nice and friendly!
Wi-Fi signal awful in room 216, needed to use it for work but every time I connected it then lost connection as not strong enough, had to use mobile data instead for my work laptop due to this. Beds also not very comfy! Very hard but only stayed one night so we managed with it.

It was pleasant. The garden area was lovely.
The television didn’t work in our room. A member of staff got it working in the evening but the next day it was impossible to switch on. This feels like a basic facility that should be working.
It was also impossible to turn the shower on. It was attached to the bath and the converter was stiff and tap began to wobble alarmingly when lightish pressure was applied to try to turn it on. Had to use the bath which was not ideal, particularly as toiletries were placed high on the wall for shower use.

The spa was really good for a small place. The staff were very friendly and the room and especially bathroom was exceptional. Would recommend entirely and will be looking at trying out some more spas/hotels owned by everbright.
If I had to pick something bad, it would be the check in, no one was at reception and they had the bell the wrong way round so I ended up calling the GM but that didn’t affect our experience. Also one of the buttons on the spa doesn’t work

Everything was good. Only minor point was the evening meal stated ALL of the main courses were served with a named selection of vegetables. Those that chose the fish as a main did not get the selection of vegetables as quoted on the menu, which was disappointing.

location, cleanliness, service from staff. hotel had the best toaster ever, only needed to put bread through once for perfect toast.
we had room 302, there is plenty of room for a king size bed. mattress was a bit soft for our liking.
carpet in the hall made me feel dizzy when stepping out of the room.

The location was great
Rooms were comfortable
The only hotel I’ve ever stayed in that would not allow us to leave a small overnight bag at the hotel 3 hours prior to check in
while we attended a wedding close by!
Some staff let this hotel down, appeared miserable with half hearted attitude.
The breakfast was not good, and certainly not value for money.
Poor communication, emailed ahead of arrival to ask what was latest checkin but did not receive a reply at all.
Men’s toilets in bar area at night time were dirty with vomit on the floor, while staff drinking in the bar.
The Hotel is very tired looking and in need of refurbishment as are parts of the grounds.

Nice size room. Nice access to Spa.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was good.
Nice short walk to the shops and river.
We did the nice walk up to the Castle aswell, would recommend if you have the time and energy.
The room could have been a bit cleaner, was OK but not perfect.
We had dinner in the restaurant both evening's, food again was ok but nothing I'd rush back for. It was more convenient than anything.
7.0
Location, breakfast excellent
Spa was very foamy, which is because the chemical balance was off. Needs attention. Steam room cold.
10.0
Beautiful big room. Clean. Great view. Lovely staff. Easy checkin and checkout. Close to town. Good price. Lovely spa
Only things we didn't like were a few things in the spa. The dressing rooms are slightly outdated. One of the jacuzzy bits weren't working and the sauna was not very hot, only 50 degrees.
9.0
good location,nice hotel, staff pleasant
no soap at basin for washing hands had to get from shower, behind tv dusty.
5.0
I found the reception staff ok, the staff at breakfast were lovely and the food was value for money
the room was very noisy, i was awake all night as you can hear people in the other rooms and above flushing toilets, showers, slamming doors.
