Friendly staff nice modern clean room was great to have a fridge in the room nice view of the football stadium
We had 3 very firm pillows and 1 soft one so they were uncomfortable. We asked for some soft ones and were told we couldn't get any man on the very abrupt the lady on the desk did try to help but he said no

Hotel was beautifully clean, staff were very polite and helpful.
Bar across the road was very noisy with loud music going on till midnight.

Location next to St James’ Park
Room was cramped especially on one side of the bed which was very close to the wall.
Loud noise from The Stack continued until midnight

Great room for families.
Room wasn’t clean, lots of items of previous guests under the bed. We were also called multiple times on the hotel room phone just after 5 AM. Of course to no blame of the hotel, but the whole family was bright awake after this, which was much too early and ruined our stay.

The staff were very accommodating, friendly and nice. The hotel itself and room were clean and no signs of constant repairs or building work. I like that a fan was supplied. I have visited in the past which is why I was keen to visit again.
The more expensive executive king suite felt like a downgrade from the other cheaper suites, with the only addition being a balcony that was separate to the room, it was a small square just big enough for two people, but had to be accessed through 2 doors. We quickly found there was no aircon, so had to prop open all of the doors to get air from the balcony. Without the balcony, the heat would have been an issue. The room footprint was quite small, and we found it awkward as to where to put our belongings as there were no drawers in the bedroom. The kitchen had the bare essentials, but the only drinking glasses were wine glasses or the bathroom water cup. The hanging glass doors also felt precarious as they banged and swung around whenever touched. My partner was also bothered that the upgraded room was above a generator that created a loud noise and hot air 24/7 under our window, despite being on the 7th floor. For the price of the hotel, I wouldn't have expected things like a leaky shower and gaps in the silicon that meant water ran over the floor. Overall, the room was passable, and if it had been cheaper, would have been great. but we wished we hadn't upgraded and probably wouldn't visit the Sandman again due to a lack of value for money. We were not guests utilising the football stadium.

Executive suites are very and equipped with small kitchen and washing machines. Very good for families with kids.
Hotel location is waking distance to all shops and malls
Loppy is small and not enough space to set or relax

Restaurant. Reception staff. View from the room.
Being situated at the lift and the associated noise. An armchair would be nice.

The staff were extremely helpful and very welcoming.
We were at the back of the hotel looking out to a building site. There wasn’t much room to move around with the sofa bed down.

Great location
Great desk staff(present and happy to help)
Great facilities (bar/breakfast)
Mould growing around windows.
Hairs in shower/tub.
The rooms look tired and well used.
Some of the lights/sockets within the room will hum and squeal if left on.

Central.
Hotel room not clean. Previous occupants had left rubbish in. Room really dusty. Not cleaned in between the stay. No hot water on the morning.
Breakfast really poor. Barely anything left after 10:00. Staff helping themselves to breakfast whilst customers left with little.

Great location, near to the city centre.
It’s a little tired however they are in the middle of refurbishing. Car park facilities are a short distance and the satnav instructions lead you to the wrong end of the one way street.

Amazing location and fantastic views of St James park
It was a comfy room but some areas could do with some upgrading like the window sills and areas in the bathroom. Thought it would be more luxurious than it was.

That you have advertised a double bed and we ended up with bunk beds. When I went to pay for the hotel on booking.com, it actually showed me a double bed and gave the impression that, that was the room I was getting. When I arrived and went into the room it wasn’t actually a double bed. I am 3 and a half hours away from my home town and me and my mum are staying in hotels due to my daughter being in the RVI. Along with this, my mum and I are blue badge holders and are disabled meaning, we cannot stay on bunkers due to our backs. In future, please ring this hotel and ask if you are actually getting a double bed to avoid the disappointment and distress we have experienced. This has actually resulted in not only me having to pay £138 for a new hotel but loosing out £67 on this hotel. I have also missed visiting hours and this has left my poorly daughter suffering with no family being able to attend and her also being 3 and a half hours away from her home town.

The fact I was charged twice for my stay, and this is the second time this has happened. “Software issue”. However my stays were 3 months apart, absolutely unacceptable

The location is perfect
It tries to be high end but I found it quite dirty and fixture and fittings were weathered and needed refreshing, the whole place need a deep clean, stains on bathroom, black mould everywhere.

Location was excellent
The room wasn’t ready upon arrival & we were travelling with a toddler. Furthermore, when we opened the glass bathroom door, it came off the hinges

Staff on the reception at check in where great.
I called the hotel to try make a change and the staff were not helpful, and even decided that getting ready to leave was more important then talking with a customer. Poor service.

Staff were friendly and helpful.
View was amazing.
Room spotlessly clean and very comfortable, lovely big comfy bed.

Heater kept switching it's self off so the room was rather cold in the morning.

Clean and tidy great location nice friendly staff
The shark bar was torture to get served for a drink on the night. 2 people serving and the place was rammed on a Saturday night! The breakfast was average.

Good locations
The rooms were small and in need of an upgrade . The bed and pillows were not great and the bathroom needs re grouted
4.0
It’s was clean, up to date
The room needed a dehumidifier to deal with the condensation. It was literally creating puddles of water on the windowsills. Due to the prolonged problem by the looks of it, mould or damp was starting to grow in the room on the walls and around the window
4.0
The location is super good, there is a microwave and minifridge in the room, and I like the view.
Things were good.
