We hope to stay here every time we visit Eugene/Springfield!! Janice is a marvelous and responsive host.

Home is very old, creaky and not clean. Door knobs were loose, curtain rod was broken, front door had to be manipulated to close and lock, bedding/pillows were not great quality, carpeting is old, and house has a very musty smell. Kitchen was tiny and not there were not any amenities such as coffee pods, etc. Heating is not evenly distributed and there were not any extra blankets to supplement. Toilet in 2nd bathroom leaked and there were not any extra toilet paper rolls for a five night stay. VRBO needs to inspect this property.

Well my son competed in the triple jump and the long jump at the state meet. I flew my son up from college in California and it was just great. The proximity to Hayward couldn't have been better. Happy to report my son took 3rd in the Triple Jump and 2nd in the long jump. Great time.

This was a great property to stay at. My family had a great stay.

This was a great spot for our family. The kitchen is well appointed, and the bathrooms too. The living room is light & bright - a great hangout spot. We’d definitely stay here again.

The location was great for us. We were able to walk to Hayward Field and Autzen Stadium so that we didn’t have the hassle of parking at those locations. The house was as advertised. Clean and comfortable. It is older, but that is what is advertised and I had no problem with that. Personally, I’d rather pay a lower price than pay a high price for a place with everything updated.
The location of the second bathroom (other end of the house through the kitchen) was a bit strange, but it was clean and everything worked.
In reply to another viewer that complained about the deck being dirty, the deck is OUTSIDE under lots of trees. Of course, there will be fallen leaves and fruits. Even if the deck was swept the day before you arrive, there will probably be leaves on it. The furniture was comfortable and there is lighting strung around the railing that was very nice. We found a broom and did a quick sweep when needed.
Warning for anyone arriving after dark for their initial arrival. The house is back quite a way off the street and hard to see. Reflective house numbers have been nailed to a tree at the end of the driveway, so look for those. The house was dark because the porch light doesn’t turn on until motion sets off the sensor. We made sure to turn on the deck lights so that we could see easier the following nights.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home in a nice, quiet neighborhood in the forested foothills. It’s a 15 minute walk to the market and another 15 minutes to Hayward Field. The heart of town is too far to walk to, so a car or ride share is necessary. The beds are super comfortable and the showers strong with plenty of hot water. Fully supplied tableware and cookware, but you’ll need your own ground coffee and food.

Nice living room, nice deck. House is older than photos show. Very dirty deck, windows, barbecue and skylights. Had to ask owners to clean deck and barbecue when we got there. The comment was they weren't ready for summer visitors even though we booked back in March. They did take care of the issues that day and overall stay was pretty good and the owners agreeable to work with. We might book again if the property and house were properly cleaned.

Having personally owned older homes and knowing there are quirks with every home, this home needs some attention to detail. The beds were comfortable. The water was hot for showers and the towels were fluffy and soft. The living room was cozy with many sitting areas. With that said, the owners need to pay attention to some important details. The second bedroom does not have a heat vent. Although there is an electric radiant heat source to use in that room, it should not be used on carpet. We were greeted with the invoice from the cleaning service with an errant sock on top on the dining room table. There was outdoor debris on the indoor carpet that leads to the outdoor deck (and the cleaning service had just been there). The kitchen should always come equipped with a new sponge for each renter and all kitchen and bath soaps should always be refilled. The refrigerator sounded like it was going to expire at any time. There are noticeable areas of the kitchen and laundry area that need to be cleaned and organized. Under the kitchen sink, the floor space between the refrigerator and counter, the washer needs to be cleaned, the "broom" closet area of the laundry just needs a wall mounted organizer instead of everything thrown in the corner next to the washer. These are details that make a difference and just to be clear, these were not searched out. The location was perfect for our needs.

Staying in this large home was so cozy. Wonderful furniture, many amenities, large well equiped kitchen and a quiet neighborhood. We connected with family and we all enjoyed this comfy home.

The outside deck was filthy and didn't look like it had been swept in weeks. The shower in the second bathroom leaked and the coffee pot didn't work properly. The beds were comfortable. I would not stay here again.

Home was as represented. Owner responded to requests immediately. It was fun watching the deer roam in the yard.

We loved everything. The house is clean, quiet, and has a unique charm, with modern convenience. The owners obviously take pride in their home and take great care of it. The wooded setting, off the beaten path, but close to town, was a huge plus. 10 out of 10, and would stay here every time we have the opportunity to visit the Eugene area. We only hope that it is available. Thank you so much.

We were very happy that the photos that drew us to this property were so very true to the property itself.

Review
Older home with a wide array of mismatched furniture. Very drafty and the only TV displays a fuzzy picture. Steep all mud driveway requires some navigation. However, for the nightly rate it’s reasonable value.

Will definitely return! I like how convenient it is to U of O. It is not a cookie cutter house but rather has a feeling of character and history. The driveway did not bother me but the owner let us know they were working on smoothing it out.

Fabulous house!
My husband and I loved staying in this house! It is full of good vibes, good books, very comfortable couch and bed, easy-to-work-in kitchen, etc. The neighborhood is a little odd, but the big pleasure was two young deer resting in the driveway. The hosts were great. We highly recommend staying here!

This home has a lot to offer, very clean, spacious and private. It has outdoor deck seating as well as indoor. Kitchen is small but definitely adequate - who cares about kitchen size when one is on vacation? The access is a breeze and the living room/dining room seating quite spacious. The bathroom by the 2 bedrooms is small but nice. There is a second bathroom off the kitchen with a shower. Two negatives - definitely a musty odor especially in bedrooms. Driveways to reach the house have big ruts which are difficult for lower riding cars to navigate.

Way under par!
Spending our 1st half hour cleaning the fridge before we were able to put our food way was not a great way to start our vacation. And that's not the whole of it. The lid to the garbage can was disgusting. The sponges were used and smelly – these should be new with each renter, in my opinion. The sink (garbage disposal) smelled like dead fish. There was old water in the Keurig and the unit was pretty dirty so we looked for a drip maker. Found one, however, the old, moldy, used coffee filter kept us from using it-cleaned the Keurig. In the process of looking for the coffee pot, I discovered that there were no additional towels, a small problem since I had used a few to clean the fridge. To polish off the day, the sheet pockets were about 4 inches to small for the mattress so would not stay on……….this was not a great stay.

A girls weekend in Eugene
My sisters and I had a great time in Eugene, and this property was the perfect location. Close to my son's apartment (he's a Duck), and easy to park the huge SUV we rented in the driveway. Loved the charm of the house. Everything we needed was there! Thanks Janice and Lon!

Tour de Eugene
This home was perfect as a jumping off point for touring the university and surrounding area for my daughters and I. Just a short driving distance away and close to the freeway.

Cute and comfortable
We came to Eugene to check out U of O and OSU with our high school son. This property was the perfect location for us. The freeway is close but can barely be heard in the back bedrooms. The beds and couch were very comfortable. My son wants a big couch like that now! The owners were very responsive when I communicated with them. I highly recommend this property.

An Absolute Delight!
There is so much to like about this home! The inside is absolutely beautiful, from the large and comfortable living room to the totally-equipped kitchen and quiet bedrooms. The owners have brought together a unique blend of modern necessities and unique furnishings to provide a real 'home' experience. They have also taken the time to provide small and personal touches that added to the pleasure of our stay. A real gem that is perfect for small or large families looking for a home away from home that is a short distance to all that Eugene or nearby Springfield has to offer.

Our stay in Eugene
The property was lovely and the house adequate for our needs. It was convenient to both U of O and downtown which we enjoyed because we like walking. The house is very old and charming but had a very unpleasant/uncomfortable musty odor inside which is why we wouldn’t rent here again.

Great family home!
This was a great house for a family experience. We appreciated the comfortable and spacious couch. All the rooms were large and we really benefited from the 2nd bathroom. We enjoyed using the gas grill for cooking. The deck was shaded, relaxing, and perfect for sipping coffee and tea. We loved the surroundings including the trees and the location. We appreciated the basket of goodies left and how responsive the owners were. We also enjoyed some of the games available. We would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable Home
We had a nice stay and were very comfortable. Nice deck to relax on and smell the Lilac. It is very close to the Highway, but you could not hear the noise inside the house. Very convenient to grocery store, etc.

Loved This Sweet Home
We loved our stay at this cute and well furnished home. It is full of light and airy. It is well furnished and has lots of little nooks for sitting and relaxing. It sits off the road a bit and the woodsy setting made us feel like we were out in the country. Lon and Janice were such gracious hosts and we really appreciated their prompt replies and flexibility. We will definitely stay there again the next time we're in Eugene!

Could use a full length mirror someplace in the house
Could use a full length mirror someplace in the house. I believe your cleaning deposit should just be included in the price of the house if you’re charging everyone the same amount we left the residence In very clean condition. Very quiet and peaceful. Can you leave a sign on the road to make it easier to find especially after dark

Loved our stay!
We have been coming to Eugene for the past 7 years between having 2 sons attending the University of Oregon. We absolutely loved our stay here. This home was welcoming, comfortable and so relaxing. It was a beautiful mixture of vintage and modern. Lots of room to enjoy our week there and to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with our sons and their friends. The owners were so helpful, especially when booking. I reserved online with the wrong email address and the owner happily cancelled and rebooked it for me after trying to help sort out what I did! There was a welcome basket of goodies which we so appreciated and I asked if lights could be left on for us as we were arriving very late the first night. We have so many wonderful memories of all our trips to the U of O and this trip was one of the best! Thank you for a great stay!

Perfect!
Our brief stay was great! The house was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and bright and cheery. We really enjoyed the deck, the kitchen was very well supplied, and the linens appeared to be new and plush. The basket of fresh fruit, crackers and goodies was very thoughtful and appreciated. I would definitely recommend this house!

We Loved this VRBO
What a great place to stay!! So much space and tons of charm. Our family of four stayed at this VRBO to attend an UO football game. The house was in a great location and there was tons of space for our family to sleep and relax. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. Everything that we needed was included in the home, including board games, which we really enjoyed. If we are back in Eugene, we'll definitely stay at this VRBO.

Perfect little place
We can to Eugene to tour the colleges for our son and looked for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom. This house was perfect. The house has a lot of conversation pieces with the fabulous vintage furniture. But it still had an up to date feel. It had everything we needed. We were even met with a surprise of fruits, sweets, crackers and salami. Communication was great with Janice. Very happy we found this gem.
