About this house rental
Nestled into the hillside of a quiet neighborhood, this home is a great location for two families to share a Sequoia vacation together! The main floor offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains and a wrap around deck to enjoy the outdoors from all sides. During the winter months a beautiful river-stone fireplace provides a cozy social setting in the main living room equipped with a large sofa. The main level also has a brand new kitchen, two king sized bedrooms and two full baths.
The bottom floor is great for kids with a bunk room that can sleep 5 (one bunk is a triple.) Next to the bunk room is a fun game room with board games, keyboard, television, DVDS and a record player with a collection of classic vinyl. Both levels of the house have their own outside entry, so there’s no need to carry luggage up or down any stairs.
The newly remodeled house has an eclectic modern flair. The kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances, beautiful butcher-block counter tops and plenty of dishes and utensils for preparing family feasts!
The master bedroom has a king size bed and a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination. There is plenty space in the dresser to unpack your belongings. The room has a ceiling fan, dimmer switch lighting, plus beautiful natural lighting from the large windows that open up towards the mountains.
The second bedroom on the upper floor also offers a comfortable king size bed, great natural lighting and an adjacent full bath in the next room.
This home has WiFi access for the internet, but cell phone reception is limited to AT&T. There is a landline for incoming and outgoing calls but most of the other cell providers will not work in Three Rivers. Occasionally Verizon will work. You can also turn on your "Wi-Fi Calling" to get your phone to work.

Seemed like the property found me, I void not have stayed at a more perfect stay that offered music to spin a throwback, eyes to peer at the starry skies, visits from resident caribou, and even a scare from bears that thankfully did not physically terrorize us. But most importantly, the stay offered me the convenience of spending time with my mother. Great home, thank you.

My family and I absolutely loved the 360 degree views to go with the beautiful home! Perfect place to return home to after a long day of hiking Sequoia and King's Canyon. There's wildlife all around, deer, turkeys. And Three Rivers is a wonderful little town!

Sequoia Get Away
Great stay at this place, lots of wildlife (saw turkeys, coyotes, mule deer, squirrels, etc) and easy drive to Sequoia NP. The house is older, but in good repair and lots of character. The living room was everyone's favorite spot. Keep in mind, the beds are firm but comfortable. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Hilltop House is a great place to stay!
We had a wonderdul stay at the Hilltop House! It was very clean and very well furnished! We loved the close proximity to the city center and the entrance to Sequoia NP! Every morning and evening our grandkids enjoyed checking out all the wildlife nearby! There was plenty for them to see! Prior to our stay, we were concerned about the reviews related to the steep driveway. but we had no issues maneuvering up it with our minivans! The only issue we had during our stay was the internet information was not correct on our check in instructions, but we contacted Sheila and she was quick to respond with where we could find the updated information. One recommendation we have is for the owners to invest in a baby gate(s) that could be available for future guests to use to block the stairs if they have small children! We had a 2 year old and had to find something to use to block it. Overall wonderful place to stay and we would definitely recommend others staying here!

Great home off the beaten path
We really enjoyed our stay. As advertised—great setup for two families. House is lovely and well equipped. The deck is great and the kitchen is updated and stocked with the basics. The only minor complaint we had was inconsistent water temperatures in the showers.

Peaceful mountain retreat
Wonderful home tucked in the mountains. It was the perfect place for us to be based for a few days of hiking in Sequoia National Park. Just a 10-15-minute drive to the park. Plus other amazing attractions nearby on Lake Kaweah. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Fantastic back deck to hang out and have dinner. Fun to see the turkeys and deer wandering the property. The one thing to flag -- repeating what others have said in other reviews -- is the steep dirt highway. Takes a bit of an effort and acceleration to get up it. Not a problem once you get used to it. But worth being aware.

Great Stay
We had an amazing stay in this property. Everything was beautiful and inside was very nice. The views from the deck were gorgeous. We wished we stayed another night. They had all the kitchen supplies we needed to make food. They had extra blankets and towels for us. They also had board games for the kids to play with. If anyone plans to stay here just make sure you bring a good car to help you come up the drive way because we had a little difficulty having a prius come up but we made it. And also one downside we did have was that the room downstairs for the kids, they also have the heater system in there so whenever it would turn on it would have a really loud noise. They ended up sleeping upstairs in the living room which was honestly better to have views of the sunrise when getting up. Despite that everything else was lovely. We really appreciated our stay and had great communication with the host. Thank you for having us!

Back woods older house with steep gravel driveway
The house is tucked away deep in three rivers back woods with no street lights. The house also had a steep driveway made of gravel. It was scary driving up it each time. We have a sedan and not sure how anyone could get their car to the top part of the house if it was snowing or raining outside. Inside the house was nice there were lots of games and musical instruments. Beds were comfortable. The deck was great for star gazing. 1 28 inch tv in the lower level of house Not practical for whole family. Some of the pictures are misleading.

My family wanted to visit Sequoia and this was a great location. However, visiting Kings Canyon will be at least 1.5 hrs. drive. The house was cleaned and it has everything we needed during our stay. We had one minor issue where the oven, microwave, and dishwasher just stopped working one evening due to electrical issue. It has fixed the next day.

Excellent home
Wonderful house plenty of room. Peaceful and quiet. Towels/ linen clean and abundant. Yes, steep hill but our rental minivans made it up just fine. So many bright stars at night. Careful with some of the Google map roads- they don’t really exist.

Better than expected
We really enjoyed our stay. The photos really don’t do the place justice. Really clean, quaint, yet updated. A lot less rustic than we anticipated. Great indoor spaces and outdoor patio to enjoy time with friends and family.

Comfortable, Peaceful Oasis super close to Sequoia National Park
Our family group of 11 was fortunate enough to spend two nights at the Hilltop House. The house is beautifully appointed, with a cool, modern vibe. It was also spotless. which is very important to me. The kitchen is especially nice and the beds on the main floor are gigantic and very comfortable. We highly recommend this house.
Sheila was lovely to work with - very gracious and responsive. We needed an extra bed set up to make sure everyone had some "space" and it was set up and ready when we arrived at the house.
The location to Sequoia National Park was awesome - just 10 minutes away. We also liked having a bakery and market close by (although we are glad we took Sheila's advice and did our main shopping in Visalia while on the way from Mariposa). We spent a lot of time on the outside deck, enjoying the quiet and the stars. The grandkids also loved spoiling the horses next door and looking for lizards and other wildlife on the property.
A couple of notes for future renters, just as helpful advice:
1) The bunkbed room is great for kids and fits a lot of bodies, but there is not a lot of room for anything else but sleeping.
2) Do not go outside without shoes as there are stickers everywhere (just part of the reality of this area).
3) The gravel driveway is very steep - we did not have any issues but it is something to be aware of.
Thank you for helping us make some lifetime memories during our family California odyssey.

Great Visit for the entire Family
The house was spacious and accommodated all 10 people comfortably. It was situated ideally for visit to Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPS. The house has the convenience of home, and found it to be great home -away-from-home. Thank you.

Hilltop House met our expectations.
We enjoyed our stay at Hilltop House. The house was neat and clean and had some nice homey touches. It had everything we needed and was convenient to Sequoia NP. We particulary enjoyed the deck. Shiela, the property manager took care of a few minor problems. The only negative for us was the steep gravel driveway but we had no problems in our minivan.

Hidden Gem! Will come back!
What an amazing property! This home is nestled on a hill and situated just above the river. We kept the doors open just so we could hear the river. The kids had a blast with the bunk bed room downstairs and on the deck upstairs. House was super clean when we arrived and we will be back!! 5 Stars!

Great for kids
We've traveled to a bunch of VRBO houses, and this was the best by far. It had everything: mountain view, real fireplace, washing machine, quick drive to the park, quiet/hidden neighbors, updated kitchen/bath.
