About this house rental
3 mi to Sequoia Park - 3bd, 2 bath, 3 decks with pool "BEST VACATION HOME 2016"
Mesmerizing views, wood throughout, 2800 sq ft comfy & clean, family-friendly
You will be rushing to get "home" from the park so that you can take a deep breath, relax and just embrace the ambiance of this spacious, well-maintained retreat of a home perched on a knoll close to the heart of Three Rivers. It was built with one thing in mind and that was to capitalize on the beauty of the High Sierra mountain range. Window after window is filled to capacity with both the native foliage of the surrounding foothills and the majesty of the high country peaks. The pool is just steps from the house and offers a view of the mountains that is unsurpassed.
You will feel right at home the moment you enter this comfortable, family-friendly home. Enter into a lounge that looks out expansive windows with views of Sequoia National Park. You choose.. kick back, read a book, surf the internet, play some games, or just gaze at the view. Just inside, you will find a cozy living room that includes a stone fireplace with firewood provided seasonally, a flat-screen TV with Firestick streaming services and tons of DVDs, and comfy furniture to melt into. The dining area is nearby with seating for 8 people. Pass through that into the sunny, window-encased kitchen overlooking the pool area. It is idyllically situated to entertain, cook and supervise the little ones playing in the pool. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a full-size oven, a dishwasher, a massive French-door refrigerator, a coffee maker, cookware, serving ware, dinnerware and flatware. All you have to bring is your food! Not the coffee, though, because we provide fresh coffee beans and Keurig pods for you along with commonly used spices.
Ground level you will find a bedroom for the kids complete with two new twin sized beds. On the opposite side of the living area is a bedroom with a new queen pillow-top mattress. This bedroom faces the mountains. Also on this floor is a bathroom with bathtub & shower.
Upstairs you will find the Grand Primary bedroom & bath. This is a huge room with a vaulted knotty pine ceiling, a California King bed and a Queen bed. The bedroom is surrounded by two huge decks, one facing Case Mountain and the other spouting unobstructed mountain views. There is a separate thermostat so that the upstairs guests can adjust the temperature to their liking. All bedrooms have window coverings.
John’s Place is perfect for groups of 4 to 8 people. You are only about 3 miles from Sequoia Nat'l Park and a couple of minutes from the quaint town of Three Rivers. If you need to stay connected electronically, fast, dependable WiFi is available at the house for you to use during your stay. For your convenience, we provide an EV charger to our guests. This home is truly a family-oriented recreational destination in itself!
Outside you will find a large unheated pool, perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. Lounge chairs offer an opportunity to relax and enjoy the views and abundant wildlife. There is a propane grill and a plethora of outdoor seating whether you would like to dine outside or just chill by the pool on a lounge chair. Our naturalistic gardens are a work-in-progress, focused on California native and Mediterranean-climate plants to attract birds and other wildlife.
We have just recently begun offering this incredible home as a rental after being off the market for several years. It was supremely popular, with over 100 great reviews that, unfortunately, could not be carried over to the new homeowner. It is still being managed by Robin who proudly manages several unique vacation homes including four that earned the title, "Best Vacation Home Rental". We would be honored if you choose John's Place for your visit to our neck of the woods.
**As of January 2024, we have a Ring camera at the main entrance to the home. It is strictly to protect the property during non-occupancy. Once you arrive, it will be disarmed until you depart.**

Beautiful spot to stay and explore Sequoia! The location was great, the home was perfect for our family. Our kids range in age from 7-13 and they all LOVED the pool, especially after a long day of hiking. They also loved that they got to have their own room, all 4 fit comfortably in the upstairs bedroom. If we ever come back this way again, we’d pick this home without question!

Great place for a family stay. The kids loved the pool and so did the adults. The kitchen was nice and big so multiple people could be in there cooking. Loved the quail and the deer. Drinking coffee on the porch or around the pool in the morning it was so quiet. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We loved the house and the small-town feel of Three Rivers. The pool was amazing to hang out by and relax in after our days of adventure in the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. It was absolutely perfect for our family. I would definitely select this house again.

We had a great stay but the home is showing a little age. Many woodpeckers pecking on the home but hopefully not causing any major damage. Thanks!

Stayed here during a hot spell and grateful for the space to spend time with family.

This vrbo property is wonderfully done. Our family of 4 adults and one child had a great time even in the major heat wave. So close to shops and the park, but so quiet and it feels very private and peaceful. The pool is terrific. The kitchen is outstanding. The owner and property manager are very communicative and very helpful. Highly recommend!

Great property for visiting Sequoia. Only 10min to park. House was well appointed and spacious. A great place for our 5 adults. Pool was a plus in the heat wave that we experienced. Three Rivers is a small community, but is cute. We stopped for groceries in Visalia, but there is a small store in Three Rivers. Only suggestions are a mirror in guest room and blackout curtains in upstairs Master. Master is top floor with semi-steep curving staircase. Overall great property.

Great property. Very clean. Great accommodations for our family vacation to Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks. We loved the pool!

Beautiful house with everything you need from a pool to the view. They have set this house up for pretty much anything you need. Owner is fantastic could not ask for better.

We travel a lot and due to food allergies, have to stay places with a kitchen so that we can prepare our own food. This property probably had one of the most well-equipped kitchens we have ever had. We never found ourselves 'doing without'.
As for the rest of the house, no complaints. We had plenty of room to spread out and found the location to be great for our excursions into the surrounding area.

This is a great house for family get togethers. It’s comfortable, spacious and checks all the boxes. Our grandsons loved the pool. There is plenty of room to spread out. Every morning we had coffee on the deck and were greeted by wildlife. We would rent here again, if we are back in the area.

We chose this rental because it was perfect for our two families to share, as close to the park as you can get, and had a pool! Everything inside was very clean and as described. The pool was having a few issues while we were there, but was still clean and useable, which was great because we were there during a severe heat wave. Saw deer, turkey, and a million quail from the front porch, though we never saw that elusive bear.

We had an amazing time. The house was wonderful. Fantastic view of the mountains, especiallt nice for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. The furnitureif all nice and comfortable, kitchen ready for making family meals and cooking out at the pool.

This property is comfortable and homey. Views of the mountains from every room. The pool was refreshing and was a perfect distance to the Sequioa National Park and to access to stores in town. The property manager was wonderful with communicating. Thank you so much! We would love to come back. LB

Perfect house for a family gathering! Pool was a fun hang out for our Grand and all the adults after hiking in the Giant Sequoias. Huge decks with lots of chairs were great for outdoor meals & star gazing. Large master bedroom upstairs worked for siblings to share with both king & queen beds. Easy access to Sequoia National Park & yummy River View Grill restaurant in Three Rivers.

The home was beautiful with a great kitchen for meals, plenty of space to spread out, with a view that did not disappoint. With a pool to cool down in, and the Sequoia National Park just down the road, we were able to visit the park and spend some downtime at this home. I would highly recommend!

Robin the manager was super nice and made the check in process so smooth. The house was a paradise, had everything we needed from the bathrooms to the kitchen to the bedrooms. My boys fell in love with the pool. The only safety suggestion is please invest in labelling how deep the pools is, it has not signs indicating how deep it is.

Location and property were terrific. Highly recommend to anyone wishing to spend some time in Sequoia!

We loved our stay in this place! It is 4 miles from the Sequoia NP entrance. Wonderful views and a nice pool to cool off in after a hot day.

This place is not just a house, feels like home. It’s spacious, comfortable, and perfect for us. The beds were all comfortable. The pool was lovely with a beautiful view of the mountains. The location is perfect, just 6 miles south of the entrance to Sequoia national park. Robbyn was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. I would love to stay here again.

We stayed at the house to visit Sequoia NP. We stayed for 5 nights visiting the park and family in viscelia.
We loved the house, it was an older house but there were multiple updates to the house that make it feel nice. The decks were great for morning coffee. We saw a bear one morning.
The pool was a big hit, 110 temp outside and pool water was 65/70 degrees, so refreshing. Kids spent a lot of time in the pool. Large tv I family room and the wifi was good.
We cooked on grill one night and enjoyed the pool patio.
Definitely would stay there again and easy access up to the the national park. Three rivers had multiple places to eat after day at the park.
Enjoyed our stay.

Had a great time. Location is perfect- private and very close to National Park entrance. Interior- very clean, well-stocked kitchen, hosts obviously are kind and add nice little touches (liked the vintage post card collection!). House is NOT luxury but in good condition for a rental. Exterior- nice pool/grill. Yard a little messy in spots but again, great for a one week rental. We enjoyed it.

John's Place had everything we needed to cook, sleep and share time together with family. Pool was perfect, with towels provided as well. Only issue we had was that the road to the Sequoia bid trees was closed so we had a long drive around to the main entrance. Once the road is opened, it will be a lot easier. Great VRBO!

The house was so nice! The views and location were amazing and Robin was very accommodating. Overall, it was a great experience.
4.9
John’s place is clean, has absolutely stunning views and is fully equipped with everything you could need!
4.9
Our choice of houses was influenced by the convenient location to the National parks. Unfortunately, with the closures, that convenience was lost. However, the house fit our family's needs well with the large kitchen which was well stocked, and living areas. The bedrooms were nice, and the beds comfortable. The tub upstairs was not working, but there was a tub to use downstairs. We enjoyed the wildlife around the house - the deer, turkeys, quail, and many types of birds. Our granddaughters were happy to pick some lemons from the lemon tree in the yard to make fresh lemonade! Although the pool water was quite cool, it was warm enough to swim and our granddaughters enjoyed a swim before we left. As was mentioned in other reviews, it is an older home that looked to be in the process of having some refreshing started. Robin was very easy to work with and kept us updated with any information that we needed. We enjoyed our stay!

Not a new place but clean, very peaceful, shower controls a bit odd up stairs but thats the only issue.Took a dip in the pool just because,,and it was almost as cold as the nearby snow,,hehhehe,,just as I suspected..needed to wake me up..Plenty of space, nice fireplace, super kitchen tools,,all in all a good spot.

Our family and friends had a great time in this cozy house. Clean, comfy and well equipped. So many little details make us feel welcomed. We definitely will come back again! Thanks John and Robin!

Everything was amazing at the house, it’s close to the park, it’s super comfortable and clean.
Everything you need is there we had an amazing time celebrating my wife’s birthday.
Pool was cold but once you start swimming you get used to it. The view is amazing, we had the opportunity yo see deers, squirrels, woodpeckers, and a bear right next to the house, such an amazing experience.
Thank you for such amazing house.

We rented based on the location to Sequoia National Park (which couldn’t have been more convenient), but John’s place greatly exceeded our expectations and is one of the best VRBO rentals we have ever stayed. It was very clean and has all the amenities that our family (with 7 & 9 year olds) could have asked for, including toiletries if you forgot anything. Robin was also very helpful, including letting us borrow a ice chest during our stay (we used it every day). We couldn’t stop counting the quail, turkey, and deer every time we came into and left the neighborhood. My daughter’s memory will be the bat that flew by the pool porch in one of the evenings. To top it off, we even enjoyed a few fresh limes from the tree out front! We would definitely recommend John’s Place for your family stay!

Everything was super clean. You can find everything you want in the kitchen. They had a large variety of board games. The patio was nice. Didn't use the pool, but it was clean and fresh.

Just 10 minutes to sequoia National park, pool was a highlight of our stay. Kitchen was stocked well, house was clean.
