Nice cabin with a good location to Acadia NP!

Listing perfectly described this amazing getaway cottage. Felt like we were in the middle of the woods, but we were actually just a five minute walk from all of the restaurants and shops in Southwest Harbor. We liked it so much that we booked a week at one owner's other cottages next door for next summer!

This is a very special place. It is exactly as described and had everything we need for a comfortable stay. The deck is a great space for relaxing after hikes and checking out some wildlife. A short walk to town but feels very private and it’s quiet. Vicki is a lovely host.

Great place to stay to avoid the crowds in Bar Harbor, yet close enough to great hiking and the outdoors. Within walking distance of some great restaurants and a very cute downtown.

The cabin is on the " quiet side" of the island which we loved. It was clean and well maintained. We loved sitting on the deck and just staring at the trees. We were here a bit before peak season (again a plus for us to get away) so some of the businesses were just opening back up for the season. There is a steep driveway with a few bumps that our SUV handled fine , but we were grateful we didn't have our low clearance vehicle. Thanks Vickie! If we ever are back in the area, we would definitely book this again!

Great place to stay in Southwest Harbor and close to Acadia National Park. Wooded enough to be quiet and secluded enough from other cabins and to hear birds and see the occasional deer. I'd definitely stay there again; highly recommended.

We always enjoy Southwest Harbor, the Quietside of MDI. This is the third time we've stayed here. It's a great location, convenient to town and trails. Peacefully located in the pines.

The cottage is tucked away in the woods but a 3 minute walk to the Main Street. Location is perfect for visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Enjoyed our stay very much.

This cabin was perfect for our family of three. Everything was immaculate. It’s a nice short walk to downtown Southwest Harbor with many shops and restaurants. The cabin had everything we needed. Our family loved this location and truly enjoyed Acadia.

This property was exceptionally clean and well stocked. Very good location and we loved Southwest Harbor. Our Host, Vicki Beal was world class. She answered all of my e-mails very quickly and really made us feel right at home. We enjoyed seeing the deer each day as they grazed outside our windows. Would definitely stay at this property again if we visit this area. Thank you Vicki!!!

The cabin was perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and quite side of south harbor. Everything was clean and cabin was stocked well with essentials.

Plenty of trails and things to do on west side of the island while still close enough to all the east side attractions to not be a hassle.
House was cozy, clean and quiet.
The washer and dryer were big plus
Only issue was the lack of blinds on the upper windows meant the kids wouldn't sleep in much after the early June sunrises.

My family of four and our dog enjoyed the seclusion of this property as well as the ability to walk into the quaint, but well appointed town of Southwest Harbor for dining and shopping. Vicki’s cottage had everything we needed and was a great headquarters for our excursions around Mount Dessert island! Everything we wanted to access were within short, scenic drives. The cottage was clean, comfortable and Vicki was very responsive. We highly recommend this home away from home to anyone and everyone looking for the perfect Acadia getaway!

We loved our time here in Southwest Harbor. The house was perfect for our family of 3 this time. Comfortable, nice deck for relaxing, and all the provisions we could have wanted. We enjoyed Bass Harbor lighthouse and the hikes nearby as well.

Lovely cabin feels like it's in a wooded setting which it is but is only about 2 mi from the main street of the southwest harbor so you can easily walk to the shops and restaurants also a very easy commute by car bike or the bus to get to all areas of Acadia we hiked biked golf and ate a lot of lobster and enjoyed our lovely cabin that was extremely clean had everything you could think of from condiments to coffee to comfy beds. It was a seamless check-in process. We would definitely stay here again on next visit to Acadia.

Felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. Perfect base camp for exploring Mt Desert Island. Plenty od distance from the mobs of tourists! The best restaurants on the island within walking distance!

Lovely cottage. Beautiful wood walls and floors, very clean, organized and well equipped. Minor inconvenience of only bathroom being on different floor than bedroom if you are older ( like I am ) and need to use in middle of night. Bathroom could have used more shelves and some counter top space. Had to hold Waterpick while using it because there was no where to put it down without it sliding off of the cute pedestal sink. Also could have had more places to hang towels. Had to put in dryer each day to make sure they were dry for next day use. Other than those minor inconveniences we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay very much.

A Bar Harbor / Quiet side Retreat
Such a beautiful location — peaceful and nestled into woods yet plenty of sunshine. This property is excellent! The owners have gone out of their way to make the place a home away from home. We arrived late — they had the lights on. The deck has a grill and a lovely view of pine trees and the sounds of the babbling brook. There are Adirondack chairs around a fire pit — wood provided. The kitchen is fully equipped. The washer and dryer came in handy — detergent right there. And only a 5 minute walk from town and the harbor where we went on a half day sailing adventure. A 30 minute or less drive to Bar Harbor and Arcadia but not of the frenzy. Highly recommend it.

Great location and cozy cabin
We had a wonderful stay at the Woodland Cottage. It was perfect for our small family as a base for exploring Acadia National Park. The cottage feels very secluded but was just a short walk into town for restaurants, snacks, shops, and a playground - a nice plus when traveling with young kids! The cottage was clean, well furnished, and had everything we needed for our stay. The deck was a perfect place for dining, reading, yoga, and just relaxing.

Cottage in the woods
It is a very nice cottage located very close to downtown Southwest Harbor. It was well equipped. and clean. The only problem we had was you had to go up and down the stairs to get to the bedroom and bathroom. That is not a problem if you are young but tough on older people. It was a great stay! Thanks!

Vacation
We have stayed at Woodland Cottages many times in the past. But not this cabin. We are glad we did! Just perfect for the two of us! Very clean, well stocked and comfortable. I enjoyed lounging on the deck and enjoyed watching three deer walk past the deck. We needed this vacation and look forward to coming back to Woodland Cottages next year.
