The home is so tastefully decorated, just loved it. I was impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked. We were planning to cook and BBQ so we were prepared, but they had thoughtful things that we forgot like having foil and a shelf full of spices.
We rented the home for a week to get out of the usually foggy city, so we wanted a view and a pool. A house with a pool not too big for two people is not easy to find, so it was perfect for us. The bed was comfortable and my sister stayed one night in the guest room, and she said the twin bed was comfortable and linens were quality. We loved waking up to a view of the Sonoma valley.
The pool was my first requirement and I usually like the temperature like a bathtub. I was hesitant because it's not heated. Temperatures went from over 90 to over 100 and the pool was just right; we even swam in the evenings. We could live on the deck, coffee in the morning, happy hour in the afternoon and dinners each night out doors.
We took walks every day and found the neighbors friendly as well. The view reminded of us of a place near Todi, Italy, a favorite of ours.
We are in Sonoma often, but still ventured out for a lunch and a few tastings. You are away from it all and it's a peaceful location, and at the same time, the square is 8 mins away
We will stay again!

There was no question that this beautiful property was perfect for the celebration of my birthday with my family, but I didn’t expect the remarkable peacefulness as well. Each morning we would sit on the deck and marvel at the beautiful vista below.
Jo and Alena were perfect hosts in their communication and welcoming spirit.

We had hoped for a king-sized bed in the bedrooms, a shower in the master and a heated pool and hot tub. The TV wasn’t really accessible or watchable, but we didn’t need it for us. The place was very serene and we loved all the outdoor spaces, the views and wind chimes. The host was very communicative. The lighting was very confusing even with all the explanations and some didn’t work.

We couldn't get over ever aspect of this house, the property and the views! Although we went about the town shopping, we couldn't wait to get back and spend the evenings and mornings on the patio.
It was the perfect house for a retreat that we didn't know we needed so badly.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Serena. It was a great location for our plans. We visited multiple wineries in the Napa & Sonoma area and also visited with friends in Santa Rosa, visiting 2 state parks. Our drive was 50 minutes or less for all our planned destinations.
The house was immaculate. Directions, locations of anything we could need was very clear through email and a binder within the residence. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements. We cooked almost every morning and every night while there. There is a Whole Foods and Safeway very convenient to the house.
The view out the windows and off the deck is lovely.

The photos do not do this property justice. It was immaculate with amazing views and lovely shaded areas. This was the perfect place for a girls trip. We enjoyed the pool, kitchen, deck, and sitting area! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Jo was so communicative and welcoming. We could not have had a better weekend

My family and I stayed for the Christmas holiday and had a wonderful time. The location is convenient to the main square in Sonoma and yet it feels like the property is remote given the stunning landscape views. The house is cozy and comfortable with multiple seating locations for working, eating or reading. Jo is a lovely host and very communicative. She will reach out via phone to provide an overview and recommendations on things to do locally. Highly recommended!

My wife and I stayed here for a few days around the holidays. Absolutely beautiful home and location! We've stayed at many homes across the country, and this one ranks towards the top of that list at which we have stayed.
Back it up a bit, I have to say that Jo was also the most gracious and considerate host I have ever stayed with. Communication early was fantastic, and the wine and greeting card left for us was a pleasant and homey touch.
This feel like a HOME. Immaculately cleaned, very well maintained and thoughtful appointed and decorated.
Extremely quiet and private property, and neighborhood with a view that the pictures do not do justice. Stunning.
All of that, and still just a short drive down to the square in Sonoma
Weather wasn't great for our trip, but this house more than made up for that factor and we will be back!

The home is unbelievably amazing! It far exceeds the pictures of the place online - which already looked great!!!
The owners have thought of everything, and made the home so welcoming and comfy. And the views are stunning. The kind note and bottle of wine were also a nice touch of class.

We loved our stay. It's perfect if you want to be close to the Sonoma square, yet off the beaten path a little. The roads up the hill to the house remind me a little of the hills in St. John USVI, but maybe not quite as steep. Beautiful views from the home. Wonderful deck that was perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee and waking up slowly. The host, Jo, was very helpful and accommodating. There are two bedrooms. One with a queen (or king?) bed and the other with two twins. I took the twin bedroom and gave my daughter the big bed. Wasn't sure I would be comfortable in that small bed but I was! I would highly recommend Jo's home if you are looking for something private and peaceful with a fantastic view.

Quietly nestled among the majestic oak trees, Villa Serena is the perfect retreat. The online pictures do not do it justice. The house, the pool, the view are outstanding and it is, in a word, charming. The furnishings exude comfort and lend themselves to old world charisma. Well, the photos made Villa Serena look great, but what we saw when we arrived was even more beautiful! Every aspect of this amazing villa feels like it was intentionally planned for the ultimate guest experience. The deck/balcony overlooking the valley was a definite highlight. Super comfy beds, luxury appointed bathrooms, and a serene pool topped it off! I would definitely recommend this home with 5 plus stars and hope I can visit again soon!

Beautiful home with a beautiful view!
We really enjoyed this house. It has possibly one of the nicest decks I have seen with a terrific view looking south over the valley. The house is very well decorated with many interesting touches. It is a little on the small side with just two small love seats in the living room. The one drawback is that there is only a tub in the master bath room. It was difficult trying to get 4 people who all like to shower in the morning every day in and out of one bathroom.

Jo and Alana have a lovely home. It is truly stunning. The deck and views are even more fabulous than the pictures. The check in process was easy and Jo was very detailed and communicative. We loved our stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect Little Vacation
Beautiful, well maintained property in the Mission Highlands with a great view from the deck. Villa Serena is just that, a serene, relaxing spot, immaculately clean with a jewel of a pool. Communication with Jo was more than excellent. We loved our time at the VS, it was always a pleasure to return "home" after our days exploring lovely Sonoma. Thanks, Jo, for a magical stay.

Villa Serena blew us away! I have so many lovely things to say about this place that I won't be able to fit it all. Villa Serena was the perfect way for our group of friends to immerse in quiet wine country. The pictures do not do it justice. The beauty of the house and gardens are only topped by the views from the deck and bedrooms in the morning. And when we went out to explore, it was a quick, scenic drive down the hill to Sonoma and very reasonable distance to Napa. Jo is a fabulous host as well, staying in great communication with us during the booking process and for the duration of our stay. The personalized note and bottle of wine upon arrival was a thoughtful touch! I wish we could have stayed forever. If you're considering Villa Serena for your trip, please book! You're in for an unforgettable experience.

My girlfriends and I had the most amazing stay. The home was lovely - private - and quiet. It was also fully stocked with plenty of dishes and extra towels. I will absolutely stay here again. With the pool and all of the outdoor space with panoramic views - it was like being at a resort.

House was very clean. Pool needs some love.
Instructions were easy to follow. No gate opener. Did advertise to use guest parking (not convenient when raining)
View is a little misleading off the back deck. 2 neighbors across the way, neighbors on each side, and across the street. Felt like a fishbowl and not as private as it seemed online.
If you're looking for downtown easy access Sonoma it's not the easiest. It's about 8 minutes from town center up on a mountain. Not walkable for a night out and there are no taxis or ubers passed 6pm up that way.
Check out instructions were easy. But the trash was supposed to be put in the bins and the landscaper put them into the garage the day before we left. We like to throw out our trash and complete instructions, but that was the only thing we didn't do.
Overall, okay stay. House was great, view was okay, and location was okay.
