The house is great overall. Very clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was stocked with all you need and more. We have been renting for years and this was a top pick. Like I mentioned above, garbage should not be a concern for the guest. The sewage smell outback should be addressed, there is a problem there. The dock could use a good cleaning. It clearly was not done all summer. Lack of communication is an issue. Majority of my emails went unanswered. The team member that came to bring us garbage pails was a very pleasant gentleman.

Each time our group of 18 takes a family vacation, we say it is the best one. So….THIS WAS THE BEST ONE! It was easy to relax, have fun together, and make great memories! Still Waters Refuge was the perfect place, and I am glad I chose it for our fifth family vacation spot! All team members that we needed to communicate with were extremely courteous and helpful.

Still Water Refuge is a great house! We loved the location, as it wasn’t in such a busy area.
Still Water Refuge is a great house! We loved the location, as it wasn’t in such a busy area. The house is beautiful and had anything we could have possibly needed to make our stay comfortable! There was plenty of room for our large family to gather, but also have separate space. The sunset views are simply gorgeous! Les was so great at answering all of our questions and assisting us in any way he could. Ryan was a life saver. He came on a Sunday to get rid of a mayfly swarm on the dock. He stayed for several hours to get it all taken care of. He was so kind and helpful!

Perfect Lake Getaway
We had an amazing week at Still Water Refuge! The house was so clean, beautiful and well equipped. Everything we needed for cooking, relaxing and enjoying the lake was available to us. Les was very responsive and helped us with any questions we had throughout the week. We encountered a mayfly swarm on our first full day, Sunday. They were literally covering the dock. Apparently this happens at random. Although it was Sunday, Les took care of the problem right away. He sent Ryan, from Lake Gaston Vacation Rentals, to take care of the swarm. Ryan worked for several hours to take care of this. He was amazing. Outstanding customer service from Les, Ryan and the team.

4th of July family vacation
The house is perfect. Plenty of seating for everyone to be comfortable, and more than enough dinner and cookware for our party of 18. The boathouse was our favorite place to be. Everything was clean and organized. We took advantage of the kayaks.

My husband and I rented a house at Lake Gaston from July 18-25 through Les and Bonnie Burleson. First time at the lake, excited for a nice relaxing week away from all of life’s current stresses. The house we paid for was on the main lake, had 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bath rooms and slept 20. The whole down stairs was a game room with a pool table and game table, tiki bar on the dock, the works.. it was awesome. Plenty of space for friends and family to come visit throughout the week. We received a text with the code to enter the door and notifying us that the place was ready around 330 on Saturday. We got there, unloaded the car and left our 13yr old daughter and her friend while we went to pick up our pre-ordered groceries. As we pulled in the driveway 45 min later, my daughter is calling me, frantic, telling me there is another family there moving in……Now it’s a standoff… there were about 16 of them from all over the country and only 4 of us at the time. Arguments about who booked first and who traveled the furthest. We contact Les, he was apologetic and although the mix up seemed to be on the other families end, we still had to move. He contacted another renter on the lake and got us a house to stay in temporarily. Supposedly just as nice if not better..It was 930 before we got to the second house.. after we had unpacked and repacked just a few hours ago, we unpack again. He arranged this house as a temporary stay until a house on the main lake was available on Tuesday. This arrangement was made through another realtor on the lake, who had no obligation to attempt to help us, but she did. This house was comparable in size, but it was in the woods on a creek off the lake and the water was infected with an algae bloom. We could not get in the water and even sitting on the dock was uncomfortable because there was a man wading waste high in the water all day Sunday and Monday literally raking the algae off the top of the water. Les offered to take us to dinner by boat to help make up for our situation. He was going to pick us up at 630 and take us to Waterview, a very upscale steak and seafood restaurant. He arrived at 730 in his dirty pontoon, got to Waterview close to 830 and they could not seat us.. he took us across the lake to a sea food shack with no AC where we ate a mediocre meal. All the while he’s promising us a better house in a couple days and a boat and/or jet skilsIt was Tuesday afternoon before we were in a house with a

Great week!
It’s 2020, what could possibly go right?!? Still Waters Retreat! Huge house allowed for plenty of social distancing! From the kitchen to the dock this house was stocked. Everyone had a great week in a year where not much has gone right. Thank you!

Beautiful and great for a large family of various ages
Our family had a great time on the lake. There was plenty of room for kids and adults. Lots of helpful kitchen items. Plenty of amenities. Would definitely go again!
FYI the listing does not show the 6th "bedroom." It is a small room with a full bed and a bunk bed (no closet).

Great Property Manager Les
Beautiful, large property. Well kept.
Bracey is a pretty sparse town. If you like lake activities, great place with amazing boat dock. We really enjoyed being there and the property manager Les was always there to help when we had a question or small issue.

We had a great time.
We had a great time. Your team members were all very kind on the phone. When I booked, I reached out immediately to connect about payment. I got no response for days, then vague responses about what was going on, and didn’t end up paying and finalizing until the night before we were to leave. This was extremely stressful. Communication during this time was not good.

Excellent Vacation Spot
We had a group that spent a weekend there. Great setting, large comfortable house, and the boathouse/tiki bar is outstanding! Fairly easy to pick up supplies you need or may have forgotten. Just a few minutes off I-85
