The Big Cottage is the best family holiday home in Newquay. This house is a perfect base for groups small and large, although we don't accept party groups, stags or hens, we love welcoming civilised groups of friends, single or multiple families, to enjoy this perfectly positioned holiday home. Just 10 minutes walk to Fistral beach and the centre of town, it is full of goodies to keep everybody entertained, whatever the weather. There's a Play Station 4 and 72'' 3D TV in the cinema room. Free high-speed WIFI, full premium SKY TV package with NETFLIX. There's a top-quality football table and a selection of board games. Families will love the excellent childrens' playground directly opposite.
The front patio and rooms at the front have sunset views over Fistral. It is packed with amenities. There is washing machine, dishwasher and double oven and huge kitchen dining table. It has landscaped private back yard, outside shower for wet suits, seating front and back and hand-made unique furniture specifically crafted for the property. Bed set up is flexible with mixture of kingsize beds and twins/single beds that are zip and link so can be transformed into super-kingsize beds ahead of your arrival depending on your requirements.There are also bunk beds for adults and kids - all have memory foam mattresses There are 5 bathrooms/showers and one family bathroom with bath.
The house sleeps up to 14 people in comfort. No loud parties, stags or hens allowed.

We stayed at this property with our adult family members from the US. There were enough bedrooms to accommodate all of us comfortably and we would get together downstairs for games and to watch movies in the fab cinema room. It was a great base to explore Cornwall from. Nick answered our questions quickly and the whole process ran smoothly. I would recommend.

This was a large family holiday with ages ranges from 6 months to 68 years old. Overall this was a great property which met all the familys needs. The family were all impressed with size of the house and in particular the bedrooms, some were ensuite others had a personal sink which added to the privacy and was more convenient. The main bedroom has lovely views over the golf course and sea.(As I made the booking I bagged this room😂 ) The kitchen is very well equipped and has a good, large kitchen table which is always a bonus.The kitchen itself is slightly on the narrow side but this didn't cause any problems. The lounge area and Cinema room meant that there was plenty of room for everyone to relax and have their own space. The house is within short walking distance of the beach and all local amenities meaning you can leave the car parked up. We were very lucky in being able to park our cars on the road for the majority of the stay, only needing to use the car park once or twice. If I needed to contact Nick he responded straight away and when there was an issue with the Sky connection his brother came out almost immediately to try to resolve the issue. Unfortunately this couldnt be resolved and needed an engineer to sort it, this was out of Nicks control and didn't impact on the holiday. The table football proved to be very popular with everyone, especially when the weather was unfortunately not so good. I would recommend this house for a large group of people.

This property is amazing…. From the outside you can’t imagine how wonderful this property is! Every room is bigger than expected, certainly better than described there was nothing missing that we needed…. Welcome pack to extra food and drinks…our family loved it- games for the kids- views for grandma - 6 min walk to town centre ❤️ Our only problem was that the car park opposite as extra parking was not suitable for our cars ( height restrictions) you might want to watch out for that 😊

The property was well located in Newquay and in a very quite location with views of the bay. The property was very well equipped and everything we needed was there. Super communication with our holiday manager and check in was effortless. Would recommend the property for large family escapes.

We returned to this property as we’d had such a good time a couple of years ago. The house works so well as the location is perfect, just above fistral bay and near to everything but not in the centre. All within walking distance. It is very well appointed, spotless and comfortable for the adults but feels relaxed enough for the kids to chill. Nick is a great communicator and easy to contact. Overall we are big fans and hope to be back soon!

We had an amazing stay at Nick’s place in Newquay! Beautifully decorated & well appointed! Our group of 10 had plenty of space and enjoyed the views of the ocean. We had one minor mishap with a leaking shower but Nick was on it immediately. With plenty of other showers it didn’t make a dent in our stay. Our kids loved surfing and the grandparents enjoyed walking the town. Very happy with our stay!

Very enjoyable stay and proximity to beach was excellent for all but the elderly. Some seating was uncomfortable and the TV reception in the living room was interrupted occasionally. The kids loved the tv room and table football.

This was a family weekend celebrating birthdays. Ages of family members ranged from 93 years old to 4 years old. There was something for everyone and the house catered for us all. Spacious, clean, brilliant games room, and the views are superb. The view from the main bedroom overlooking the sea was absolutely stunning. We spent much time in there admiring the sunset! All rooms were perfect and there are ample bathrooms/washrooms for all 14 of us. We would love to go back! Location is spot on, a nice little stroll down to the town. Amazing stay all round thank you.

The property has ample room and beds, but the configuration was a bit awkward due to the narrowness and mult-level layout. True that the two upper rooms had king beds (one with en-suite) but the bathrooms were tiny. The kitchen was narrow, but very well appointed. The movie room was very nice, but the setees were rock hard - and using the tele there interferes with the lounge telly. It was delightful when we arrived to find welcome gifts of biscuits, beer and milk!

Every element of the rental experience of this property was great. Communication with the property owner / manager was easy & very helpful & the property itself was everything we needed for 4 families, consisting of 8 adults & 8 kids aged 8 - 12. Plenty of room, good sleeping configurations, very usable spaces with the open plan kitchen / dining / lounge & the separate games room & superbly located just 10 minutes walk from both Fistral Beach & Newquay town centre.

We just came back from our stay in Newquay with our teenage girls. This house is absolutely brilliant as it is equipped with everything you need, very clean and in good condition and has been furnished with taste. It is walking distance from the beach and town which is perfect for teens. I highly recommend!!

From the early communication with Nick right through to our stay,everything was exactly as described and expected. The house was great inside and outside perfectly positioned for both an easy walk to town and the beaches. Cinema room, and PlayStation well used by the boys in the evenings. Car park in front of property is great (although height restricted) Great views and a fabulous place to wake up each day.

We had an amazing three nights here. Fridge stocked with wine and beer when we got there and plenty of snacks for the kids. 9 adults and 5 children and we were never bored! Quite stormy weather so a lot of the time was spent in the house which had more than enough entertainment with the entertainment room, table football and a great tv/ sky package. Excellent location which we were able to walk to the headland in the windiest wind EVER! We're already looking at same time next year! Thank you Nick, a great time was had by all :)

Thank you for our stay at Nick’s property in the beautiful Newquay, coastal location. Our family are now living in different locations around the globe and we all came together in Newquay. The house was more than perfect to accommodate all of us (7 adults & 4 children). Very comfortable and large enough to gather together or have some quiet time alone. Parking in the UK is limited (as is road space when off major roads) but there is an open field car space across the road from the house which can be paid for daily or weekly. Newquay and surrounding Cornwall areas is a delight to explore. Easy to explore on foot locally. Public transport to go further afield or easy driving. We are originally from Australia, so the local beaches were the attraction for us, as we now residing in Canada. Nick is prompt and responsive to any queries. We would highly recommend Nick’s property.

17 of us stayed in zone 9 (ages 3-70), house is a perfect size and is clean and well furnished with everything we needed. The karaoke machine was an added bonus!! 10/15 min walk to fistral beach was just right and we all enjoyed the stay. Thanks to nick for the wine and crisps on arrival! The only thing that was missing was a bigger garden but the benches outside the front were well used! Would definitely recommend this house.

This property was ideal for my Stag Do. Plenty of space and rooms for 20 guests, also plenty of activities in the house to keep you entertained. Nicks communication was spot on and family are at hand if you need anything during your stay. Absolutely amazing house and would 100% recommend for large parties. Thanks again, hopefully we have another excuse to return.

We booked this accommodation for 16 people on a stag do, absolutely amazing accommodation, it’s even nicer than the pictures. Large rooms and varied options with large tv and table football. Owners also fit out with some essentials on arrival that adds that extra special feeling. I recommend to anyone looking to use.

Hired this property for 15 of us on a stag weekend and it was ideal for everything that we required. The house is in a great location for the beach, bars, supermarkets, shops etc. The house itself was amazing, it had everything we needed with plenty of room in all areas of the house with some great views out to sea. Nick left us some beers and snacks for our arrival which was a really nice touch also. Overall I couldn't fault it and we would 100% rent it again if we are ever in the area.
