My room was clean and it was newly decorated. Breakfast was good.
The Television did not work, which was disappointing . Although I did not allow that to spoil my stay, it would have been nice to be able to catch up on the news,at least. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you.
3.3
Excellent location. Parking available.
Wonderful building with loads of history.
For example, there is a large room previously a theatre with historical artefacts from Lord Nelson days. Excellent relaxing lounge on the 1st floor. Lovely breakfast room and great breakfast.
Nice bar area. The building is old and some parts show their age but adds to the character.
Nothing major.

Location - excellent

Well proportioned. And a good spread to suit all needs
Every thing was fine

The room was not very clean and it was quite dated, curtains wouldn't close on both windows, they were stuck on the rails, one of the wall lights didn't work above the bed, also I would have expected a bath for the price of the room.
Breakfast was quite basic. Assistance to help me with my luggage to the top floor would have been nice.
However, the staff were very friendly and helpful, good parking facilities, very central location and the views from my room were stunning.
As above

Central location was excellent
We were sent up to the 3rd floor which meant a lot of stairs. NO heating and NO hot water. It was midweek so, was hardly crowded. it was quite cold at night.

Town Centre location. very clean. Lovely friendly staff. Very good value for money. Comfy bed.
Dated interior. the room we had needed a new bathroom, the electric shredding toilet made such a loud noise we couldn’t flush it at night.
3.3
Breakfast was very good, safe parking and staff were very good with us.
the bed was a bit noisy. TV was not connected to wifi, we could not watch Netflix.
3.3
We were charged for bed and breakfast for 2 nights, chef was on holiday and we were the only guests in hotel so they refunded us £30 only
3.3
Convenient location close to sea front and all necessary facilities. Decent bar with good live music on Saturday evening.
Breakfast was average at best in a crowded room and a bit chaotic. The whole place needs some modernisation, decor very outdated. Very noisy street at night and seagulls in the morning.
3.3
It was as expected and provided early so we could catch the ferry

Location
Badly needs refurbishing

breakfast was good ,but slow /sausages were bad and eggs cooked haphazard /great location for fishing trips /but sadly used next pub to spend more time as it had wifi and sky sports life
hotel has aged not well and needs some restauration /broken pieces in the bathroom no rail for the towels and missing toilet roll holder /bad wifi trouout the hotel /tiny tv /great area of bar but not welcoming and staff that have resigned and just doing the job without pride of the place /been in the hotel 20 years ago and it was different atmosphere and attitude of the staff /shame it could be one of the best in town

The rooms are quite basic and Wi-Fi doesn’t work on the top floor.

Location ,breakfast, friendly helpful staff.
The shower didn’t work. There was only one chair in the bedroom. There was only one bedside light which only one guest could access.

Loved being on a street with some of the oldest buildings in town. The breakfast room of the Union Hotel was especially attractive, and staff was most pleasant and helpful.
3.3
Breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful
Building was damp and in need of some TLC. Key was faulty so was a struggle to get in building at night. Toilet was faulty

enjoyed the location and the staff
first room we had only had a bath. the manager was able to change this easily the next day which was appreciated.

The carpets and wall papers in my room made me feel itchy, same applies to the carpets on the main stairs. The mattress was overused, bent. In the breakfast room I sat on a broken chair. The breakfast was doing its job, it wasn't an experience though . No fresh veg or fruits available, description online are drawing an image of antique interior with standards I didn't have a shower. The old bathtub with separate hot and cold water went they had to attach one of those cheap ruppert hoses to provide a kind of shower. I payed 200 pounds for 2 nights for a council house experience. Unbelievable

Room was extremely spacious with plenty of "antique" furniture to provide storage.
Bathroom had huge walk-in shower which was extremely good. Whole bathroom was very modern and clean.
Wonderful, friendly staff throughout the hotel.
Chef was very accommodating.
Excellent breakfast (apart from crispy bacon).
Crispy bacon for breakfast - prefer less well cooked bacon.
