On the lower level, you'll discover a gigantic rec room, featuring a full-sized pool table, a large flat screen TV atop a gas fireplace cabinet, and a bistro table for more fun and games. Direct TV and a great WIFI signal are provided throughout the lodge.
The lushly landscaped home is easily accessible with plenty of level parking under the cart port. NC VACATION RENTAL STANDARDS
First, be aware that the North Carolina Vacation Rental Act provides you with certain rights and protections. Second, we would like to make you aware of a few local regulations designed to promote a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY LIMITS: The maximum occupancy limit for this home is 10 persons. You must provide us with the number of people and vehicles in your group. Violation of occupancy rules are grounds for immediate eviction with no refund, and fees will be charged to your credit card to cover any damages.
DESIGNATED PARKING: Vehicles must be parked only in designated areas on the vacation rental property. Parking in the roadway blocking the flow of traffic and parking on neighbor's property without permission are prohibited. There is parking for 3-4 vehicles at this property. No RV's trailers, campers, or oversized vehicles of any kind.
ACCESS: You will receive directions and access information once we have received a signed rental agreement securing reservation (this agreement will be sent to you for electronic signature) you will also need to provide a copy of your government issued ID to our company with current mailing address and contact information along with vehicle registration of each vehicle that will be at the home during your stay. You will be emailed check-in instructions 24 hours prior to arrival provided you have signed your electronic rental agreement and sent in a copy of your photo ID and vehicle information. If you go to a property prior to approval from our office before check in time you will be accessed an early check-in fee $50.
TRASH DISPOSAL: All household waste & trash must be placed in receptacles considered to be animal proof (e.g., durable with secured lids) when available unless advised otherwise due to increased bear activity.
MINIMUM AGE: You must be at least 25 years of age to reserve a rental property and sign this lease and must also be a guest at the property during the entire term of the stay. You must present a valid government ID at time of check in. If you are not 25, you will NOT be allowed to check in and no refund will be provided.
NO HOUSE PARTIES: We do not accept reservations from sororities, fraternities, spring-break parties, bachelor / bachelorette / wedding parties, graduation parties, or ANY similar groups unless approved at time of reservation. Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals works very closely with local law enforcement to patrol our rental homes, and report to us any occupancy violations. Any violation of this rule mandates you immediately vacate home without refund, regardless of the remaining duration of your reservation.
FIRE PROTECTION FOR YOUR SAFETY: Fire Extinguisher and Evacuation Plan -This home is equipped with working fire extinguishers and a posted evacuation plan. Removing any of these from their designated location is prohibited. Avoid storing items not to block hallways, doorways, steps, entrances and exits. Small Outdoor Fires - When an area burning ban is in effect, bonfires are prohibited. Contact your rental home's property manager for information on any burning bans. Outdoor fires are only permitted in a place and manner approved by the Fire Chief.
LAKE ACTIVITIES: Swimming: Do not swim farther than 50 feet from shore unless accompanied by an observer in a boat.
FISHING: A North Carolina fishing license is required, and all state fishing regulations apply.
BOATING: If a boat is provided with this rental home, please ask for and review the pamphlet entitled “Lake Regulations & Map”. If you wish to utilize your own boat on the lake, a permit is required and can be obtained at Town Hall or at the town marina.
PERSONAL CONDUCT: Trespassing - Venturing onto a neighboring dock or pier, boat house or property without the owner's permission is prohibited.
NO SMOKING: Smoking, Vaping and Electronic cigarettes are prohibited in all our vacation rental homes. You will be assessed an additional cleaning fee if it is discovered you have been smoking and/or vaping in the home of $500. We ask that all smokers stay a minimum of 10 ft from any open window or door, do not stand near open doors or windows allowing smoke to enter the home while smoking on property. Please make sure butts and ashes are not left behind. Discard the butts and ashes in the outside garbage. Do not throw butts on the ground (including the fire pit) or bring them into the home. If there is any tobacco smell in the home after your departure, there will be a minimum $500 charge. Oil lamps and incense are not permitted due to the long-lasting odor. If these policies are violated, there will be a charge for excessive cleaning.
NOISE: Unreasonably loud noise is prohibited throughout the Town. Please observe quiet hours after 10 p.m. and be aware that sound carries very far over a still lake.
UNRULY BEHAVIOR: Behavior deemed disorderly and causing a disturbance to the public is prohibited. These regulations will be strictly enforced.
SECURITY CAMERA LOCATIONS: Please be advised our homes have forward facing entry area security cameras. We monitor for non-reported pets, over occupancy and number of vehicles.
PETS/ANIMALS: PETS/ANIMALS are NOT ALLOWED in this home. If you are found to be in violation of this rule you will be required to vacate the property and forfeit the remainder of your stay. You will also be assessed a fine of $500 for the violation. No refunds will be given!
RENTAL AGREEMENT AND TOTAL BALANCE: You will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement before your reservation is secured. Failure to sign rental agreement with-in 72 hours of booking, will result in cancellation of reservation and forfeiture of deposit. Any monies received by Mr Lake Lure Vacation Rentals for occupancy of vacation property indicated the acceptance of the terms of our vacation rental agreement in full. Your total amount listed on the Mr Lake Lure® Vacation Rental Agreement may be different than the amount paid to the 3rd party site you book through. All third-party sites charge differing amounts as service fees to guests for using their services. We have no control over those fees and do not collect them.
Please read your vacation rental agreement carefully before you begin your vacation. All policies are strictly enforced. It is the responsibility of all guests and members of their party to be familiar with all policies pertaining to rental.

If you don't feel this will be adequate for your stay, you will want to stop and pick up more on your way. All properties provide fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, including coffee makers as well as some cooking utensils. Locked pantries and closets are reserved for the use of the Property Owner and are not accessible to Guest. Rearranging furniture or removing any items from the Property is prohibited.

Late check-outs will be charged the applicable daily rate or $50 per hour, whichever is greater to the credit card on file if the home has not been vacated by 1:00 pm.
*** Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, through the first quarter (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. No personal watercraft will be allowed on the lake during this time. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. If you don't feel this will be adequate for your stay, you will want to stop and pick up more on your way. CHECK IN: 4:00 p.m., local time (or later) You will receive directions and access information once we have received a signed rental agreement securing reservation (this agreement will be sent to you for electronic signature) you will also need to provide a copy of your government issued ID to our company with current mailing address and contact information along with vehicle registration of each vehicle that will be at the home during your stay. You will be emailed check-in instructions 24 hours prior to arrival provided you have signed your electronic rental agreement and sent in a copy of your photo ID and vehicle information. If you go to a property prior to approval from our office before check in time you will be accessed an early check-in fee $50.
CHECK OUT: 10:00 a.m. local time (or earlier) NO EXCEPTIONS. Housekeeping will arrive very shortly after 10:00 a.m. to prepare the home for the next Guest. Late check-outs will be charged the applicable daily rate or $50 per hour, whichever is greater to the credit card on file if the home has not been vacated by 1:00 pm.
*** Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, through the first quarter (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. No personal watercraft will be allowed on the lake during this time. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. For more information about the annual lake drawdown, please contact the Town of Lake Lure.

We visited the area to attend a wedding. The home is beautiful and the view is gorgeous. The kitchen is stocked well with everything you would need. Towels and linens provided, would suggest supply black wash cloths for make up removal or more wipes since noted will be charged if white wash cloths are stained. The bonus room between the upstairs bedrooms carpeting is in need of cleaning. On the afternoon prior to our date of departure we noticed in the one upstairs bedroom that there was what looked like black mold on the ceiling register, contacted Mr lake lure property management and received a prompt reply that they would send someone out to take care of. We were getting ready for the wedding and said they could come after our departure in the morning. Not sure how something this major has been overlooked, does not happen overnight, The rest of the home was fine but something like this should have been caught sooner. For this reason only 3 stars for cleanliness. Instructions for checking out received, guests are asked to take their trash to a couple of locations upon departure. Took trash to location on Sunday and the facility was closed. Took trash back to home and house keeping was on property and instructed to leave trash outside and they would take care of it. It is a beautiful home and location, just needs more attention to cleaning details.

We had a great stay at this property. Plenty of space for 2 families (4 adults, 6 kids ages 3-9). Views were fantastic and just as pictured in the listing. Resort amenities were a quick 5 min drive from the house. House was clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay again! Communication with property manager was great.

Our family traveled in from FL, AL & SC for my sons wedding. We stayed at Shumont Estates and it was everything we expected. The space was more than enough for our family of 8. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need which made it very convenient for cooking meals. The beds were comfy and lower level basement was a nice space to relax and watch TV or play pool. Overall would highly recommend staying here. We plan to book again in the future.

We really loved our trip to Lake Lure! The cabin was clean and plenty of room for our 4 adults and three kids. The Rumbling Bald amenities kept us busy when we weren’t sitting on the deck enjoying the view.

Our family of 10 loved this house. Here are some of the things we really enjoyed and appreciated:
1. Large open spaces, esp in the basement with fun pool table
2. Big, well-stocked kitchen with small table and seating for 3. Great for breakfast shifts and visiting while others are cooking. Plus, seating for 8 at the dining table.
3. Beautiful view of mountains and lake on large decks (screened and unscreened) with plenty of seating and a grill
4. Big closets with LOTS of hangers, plus master bedrms have large low shelf that's great for leaving suitcase open
5. Extra pillows
6. Lots and lots of drawers and shelves in bedrms and bathrooms
Just a couple of things that need attention:
The slider to the open deck is very very hard to open.
The water pressure in the kitchen sink is so low that it took awhile to clean up after meals.
Maybe because we were dealing with both vrbo and Mr. Lake Lure with this rental, the instructions about where to leave garbage and clean up before leaving were conflicting and confusing depending on emails from Mr. Lake Lure and instructions by phone.
The privileges at Rumbling Bald Resort were the icing on the cake and we went there every day. It was a short 1-2 mile trip by car. We had a great time at The Lodge at Shumont Estates and would happily rent it again.

We love this house. The view from the porch is amazing. We love the Rumbling Bald resort access and enjoyed the lake and pool. We also enjoyed playing pickleball every evening! This house is a great little get away!

We had an amazing time at this property! The house was both secluded yet a short drive to many activities! Rumbling Bald Resort had a great beach area with plenty of water activity rentals. The house had plenty of room for our group of 8. We traveled with another family so 2 master bedrooms were amazing! Both master bedrooms had doors leading directly out to the balcony. The kids (age 13-17) enjoyed the downstairs and upstair spaces. My only recommendation to future guests is to take your garbage to the dump at Rumbling Bald daily. The directions for garbage disposal were not clear....and trust me if you leave the garbage anywhere overnight (including the secure box) the hungry bear WILL get it! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a fantastic vacation on Lake Lure!

The home is beautiful and the view is unmatched. You can see Chimney Rock from the deck with the naked eye. Binoculars are very helpful for the overall view of the mountains. The only problem we had is a cabinet door under the kitchen sink is loose on the top hinge. We called about it when we got there but it was still broken when we left. No big deal but it should have been taken care of. We will definitely consider renting this property again. It is well worth the money.

Great view! Enjoyed fire pit!
This property is one we’d stay at again. Great down stairs and LOVED THE PORCH with view. The fire pit was great. We used it the two nights we were there. Loved that every bedroom has a bathroom. The property manager touched base with us several times to make sure we received our check in instructions, that we arrived and to warn us if inclement weather.

Excellent experience.
This property was amazing and we had an excellent experience. The photos do not do the view of the mountains justice. The property management had great communication skills. Whoever cleaned before we went could have done a better job. It was by no means messy there were just a few things missed. The biggest downfall was the Wi-Fi. It was terrible we had to reset the router multiple times every day. While it is good to disconnect there are time where we had to answer emails or wanted to watch Netflix at night and we’re essentially unable to do so. With that being said we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. 100% recommend the stay here.

Great location and house!
Our two adult children, their spouses, and our two young grandchildren go somewhere in North Carolina each fall for a weekend. We have been doing this for years. This is the best place that we have stayed! The house is spacious, great for us since we have three families coming together. It was very clean. Great location. Chimney rock was about 25 minutes away. We spent the day there and then came back to the house and got carry out from a local Lake Lure restaurant. I definitely would recommend this place!

Wonderful Experience
We rented out the house for a graduation celebration. The house itself was wonderful and clean and the view was spectacular (even for someone who grew up in the mountains). Loved that there was plenty of space for us to spread out or all gather together. Communication from the host was great.

We highly enjoyed this house! The view is spectacular and the rental staff was incredibly responsive during our stay. Also, the beds were super comfortable! I would suggest you bring your own toilet paper though. The toilet paper was 1 ply and falling apart. Definitely wished I had brought my own!

Great location but needs maintenance and pest control
The locations and views are beautiful but the property could use some maintenance. We rented it specifically for the screened porch and one of the panels was completely missing. There was also a loose stair and other maintenance issues we encountered. We also saw multiple mice while staying there and ended up leaving earlier than planned.

Exceeded Expectations
The Lodge was very clean when we arrived and being able to park right by the door under the covered driveway made unloading very easy. The furnishings and appliances were all in great shape and of good quality. The highlight for us was the very large deck which included a gas fire pit. We spent many hours on that deck enjoying the warmth of the fire and the amazing view of the lake, mountains, and even Chimney Rock. The Lodge came with a pool table, games, puzzles, books, and many TVs to keep us busy as well. We also took advantage of the Rumbling Bald resort thanks to the passes that were provided. The Lodge far exceeded our expectations and we are already thinking about when we can come back!

Wonderful Property
This place surpassed our expectations! It was VERY clean when we arrived. The layout worked well for my family- my husband and four kids- as well as my father and sister. The views are spectacular, and we especially enjoyed sitting on the porch by the fire pit. The management company called to check in on us upon both check in and check out and were super friendly. If we head back to Lake Lure, we would definitely stay here again!

Friends trip
This cabin exceeded all expectations. The details in the cabin made it beautiful. The space was unexpected. Great showers, plenty of outlets, couches and bed were quite comfortable. Nightlights in bathrooms, fireplace and fire pit were easy and fun. Porch rockers and views were fun and made late night drinks and early morning coffees memorable.
