Fantastic location with lots of amazing walking on the doorstep. Warm and lots of hot water and a lovely bathroom.
Property in need of some serious TLC: window frames rotting, damp patches, carpet moths have moved in! Oven gloves and a clean oven would have been nice. In the past one could expect a log and some kindling for a fire on check in night……we remembered logs but forgot kindling to no fire until we could go shopping. We left some for the next guests who I am sure will appreciate it.

Charming cottage. Excellent quiet location, village centre only 5 mins walk away, down quiet country lane. Far enough from centre to avoid crowds during busy times. Fells and walks are on your doorstep.
When you're used to the convenience of being able to glance at a wall clock, or one on the mantelpiece or at the bedside, it's VERY strange to stay in this cottage which has no clocks at all.
Also, a spare toilet roll would have been a courtesy (especially in a cottage that sleeps 6)
And finally, there was no kitchen cleaning stuff provided, should you spill on the cooker hob or the kitchen work surfaces.
We would book this cottage again, but would make sure we brought all of the above with us, next time.

The cottage is lovely. We loved how its set out a real home from home. The bathroom was new but needs a mirror though. The beds are so comfy . The area is so quiet and relaxing.
Needs a better sign on the wall/gate took a while to find post code was wrong .
The garden could be better utilized and fenced off for dogs and little kids.
Needed a mirror in the bathroom.( although Bathroom looks new) I didnt see the point in the big deep bath myself as the shower is great some will love it.

To our surprise the bathroom was completely updated, there was a brilliant shower, under floor heating and a big bath overlooking beautiful views. The second bedroom also had a double bed (seen better days) but comfortable enough! The master bedroom had a new bed and mattress and was very comfortable indeed! The surrounding views are amazing and very very quiet location. The kitchen was good enough to do what you needed to do and the fireplace was lovely. The kitchen had good cooking facilities and equipment (I am being cheeky but a coffee machine would have been amazing while looking out on the views). Parking was fine, a little tight as we had to reverse down the driveway. We wouldn’t know where to put the other vehicle if you had 2, possibly in the village?
The sofas downstairs where very uncomfortable and no big coffee table to play games or hold plates (minor thing). After a long walk we wanted to relax on the sofas and the cushions were worn, didn’t match the sofas and just didn’t sit right. The carpet downstairs is very warn and needs a deep clean/replacement! Although the bath was gorgeous, to use it was quite impossible. There was never enough hot water to fill it right up so we ended up our top half cold and bottom half hot- we understand this cottage is an old building but they maybe should have considered a smaller bath for the amount of hot water. A gate out of the back would have been ideal for when you have pets/ children as there really is little space for them in the front and rear garden, but we didn’t spend a lot of time our in the garden. I think this would help with the relationship of the next door neighbour as she was not very welcoming to us or our pets, maybe previous bad experiences with guests?

Beautiful location. Easy walk to Grasmere. Very peaceful.
The directions! The postcode doesn’t take you to the right place. It’s actually off Easedale Road. Turn right at a house called Goody Raise and it’s on your left up there. :)
