The hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere and is very clean and stylish. An extra touch was a piece of cake on arrival.
The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay.
Our room was well equipped, nice big bed which was very comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and there was plenty of hot water.
Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options including home made treats.
Would definitely recommend this hotel for their outstanding service and attention to detail.
Only stayed one night.

Amazing breakfast

Absolutely amazing stay. Amazing location within short walking distance of village centre. Staff were all amazing, very friendly and welcoming, especially Nick who greeted us when we arrived. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best cooked veggie breakfasts we've had in a long time. Definitely will be returning.and the decor is stunning. Quiet on a night, great nights sleep.
We stayed in the stargazing room, which was lovely but got very hot through the day and would of have benefited from black out blinds, as the light always woke us up very early.

Very central and staff were very helpful and friendly

Exceptionally bright and comfortable room, with large window looking on to hills. Modern, well-equipped bathroom. The hotel was a beautifully adapted and updated large Victorian house. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Leathery scrambled egg! Otherwise the breakfasts were fine.

As a cyclist I asked to laundry. They did with no charge.
The cozy room supposed to be with bath not just shower.

Everything went well (except for a creaky bathroom door which I forgot to mention to the staff) and my husband was especially impressed with the cooks poached eggs
All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly

Beautiful location. The conservatory was a wonderful location to eat breakfast in. Staff could not have been more helpful.
Nothing, a superb hotel.

Individual hotel, great location for an overnight doing the coast2 coast walk. Friendly staff delicious breakfast.

The hotel is located in a very good position. The room was very nice, with a lovely view over the garden. Everything was very clean and the toiletries were excellent. The shower was powerful and the water was always warm. The public areas all looked good and well kept.
Nothing to complain about but there was a constant hum in the background in the bedroom. Sounded like a fan might have been running. It didn’t disturb us but was noticeable.

Hotel and village setting were excellent. Also staff were very pleasant and obliging
I was a little disappointed with the cooked breakfast. I very seldom indulge in this but enjoy it when I do . . I felt the standard breakfast was rather overcooked and uninspired although scrambled egg and smoked salmon on my last day compensated.

Great location, nice decor, good bed. Really good breakfast.
The pop-up bathplug was central in the bathtub making it impossible to lie in the bath. Also it drained very easily.
4.3
Spacious hotel. Lovely seating zones. Breakfast served in a lovely large room overlooking a garden.
All really nice

Part of our group stayed in another room and had a better experience (not difficult given the experience we had!). The property offers a convenient location for local hikes within a pretty, well-served village.
The toilet in our room did not function and still had the previous guest's urine in it. This was reported immediately and we were told that maintenance would come to fix it whilst we were out at dinner (we were also told that the guesthouse was fully booked so a change of room was not possible).
The toilet was not fixed and there was no communication to make us aware of this. We were therefore left with no toilet for the entirety of our stay! Needless to say, it was an uncomfortable stay and we left before breakfast so that we could find somewhere with a toilet (and we didn't have a great amount of confidence in cleanliness based on the fact the toilet hadn't been cleaned between guests).
Other issues include being given a room smaller than the one we had booked and paid for; not having sufficient parking at the property; only having one towel in the room; thin walls (I could hear our neighbour snoring!); windows which are at eye level and look out to a public garden.
I raised these issues privately with the management team to give them the opportunity to respond and show goodwill. However they responded with a false version of events and by implying that not being given an alternative room was somehow our fault?!

The hotel was very cute, nice decor, lovely and warm. Very welcoming place to stay
When we arrived at around 7pm, we entered the room and it hadn’t been cleaned. The lady in reception was really lovely and got it sorted straight away however it was still disappointing. We were given a free bottle of wine to compensate however when we got the wine to the room, the bottle was already open so it didn’t help!
