Staff were wonderful. Good menu. Chef was faultless for every course. Good wine choice - we had a great burgundy. Beautiful location. It’s a lovely old property so there are some understandably slightly worn features but the overall experience was fabulous. Watch out we’ll be back!

Location, good breakfast, just needs a touch of tlc ,garden is great but needs a lot of time to remove weeds and clean around ponds a remove weeds in pond . Needs another gardener. Windows are desperate for a clean upstairs as when sun shines shows the stains. Just needs a bit of a tlc but it costs and getting the balance right.
As above

lovely property so much history- gardens delightful. property and rooms although very pleasant perhaps a little tired but that does not detract from the wonderful historical house. food good but not overwhelming. staff worked hard although only 7 guests for dinner.
not made aware of inclusive meal 2 courses. breakfast good but also not made aware of self service trolley but really very nice and from a slightly different era but that was not a bad thing

Its stunning! just look at it! Also Michelle the French front of house and bar man was exceptional at his job. If there was any human who embodied the word hospitality it was him. Our food was good too. much better than our last meal at The Boot which was very disappointing just round the corner.
The whole place needs some TLC - a shame because it could be our version of Grantley Hall or equivalent!

Lovely food, lots of choice our meals were included which was nice. Excellent staff and nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel welcome. The room was large and comfortable with lots of space. The heated towel rail was on in the bathroom which was lovely. The room was attended to each day with soap shampoo & shower gel. Tea and Coffee facilities also in the room. The hotel had a family feel and due to this other couples joined in conversations which we enjoyed. The hotel is not far from Oulton Park where we attended the BSB.
We did have an issue with fly's in the room & could have done with some fly spray! This is a lovely old building with high ceilings so the fly's were out of our way and once the light was out they were fine. This would not put us off staying again.

We had a function which was excellent and the care that was taken of us was faultless. The food and the wines-as well as the service was all that any of the 20 of us could have asked for-and it was very good value for money
We chose to stay overnight-and enjoyed another very comfortable stay in a very well appointed room. The quality of the breakfast was also of a high standard-however there were not enough front of house staff on duty to ensure an efficient table service, and the waiting times were longer than expected.

Location was very close to the Sandstone Trail. Food in the evening was well cooked and tasty. The staff were friendly.
It was double the price of nearby Rock Farm. Nearly £140 for a room. On this occasion it was the only option at this point of the walk….but a bit of well deserved luxury.
