Weekend in Yo

Lovely cozy room.Full English breakfast.Friendly and helpful hosts.

Would have preferred a room away from the road at the front of the house. Bit still would visit again.

Relaxing, 'old worldly' place run by a lovely couple.

It's an old house that doesn't lend itself to too many modcons - there's no big flat screen TV- it would look ridiculous! The breakfast was lovely and the host couldn't be faulted! It is situated just outside the walls so ideal. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely staff - helpful at any time. Good location as it is located close to the town centre (15mins walk) and the University of York.

Slightly noisy at all times. The noise did not come from the streets but I guess some sort of ventilator that was kept on overnight.

We couldn't have a breakfast dew to work being done in the kitchen. Just would off liked to have been told before we arrived..

ideal location, great bed, breakfast looked fabulous

perfect location - overlooking York City walls. Delightful family looked after us. We made a BIG mistake in deciding not to have breakfast, but as we checked out, saw owner clearing the unused breakfast fruits - We will have to go back and will definitely be ordering breakfast!

For us personally, the hotel is slightly fussy - quite a lot of knick knacks - tho beautiful, they arent quite to our taste

The Barbican

Lovely room and very clean. Good size room and bathroom, Comfortable bed, lovely owners and great location.

You can't just pay on card if you are paying when you get there. You have to use online banking and send the money to the owners that way by writing all there bank details in. Nothing else i didn't like.

Stayed for 1 night at the Barbican , didn’t have a breakfast , was made to feel very welcome by the owners/family so no complaints. Room was lovely with a nice clean bathroom . Thank you

Close to the center, cosy and worthwhile

Great location, 5 mins to city walls and far enough that it has no noise at night. Good value, great tea making facilities and very hospitable host. Would recommend!

The only accommodation with face cloths in the bathroom. A good supply of soap and shampoo etc. Excellent location to be able to walk into York.

Pleasant stay albeit a little expensive.

Location of hotel was good for shops and restaurants. Hotel is an old property but very tidy and clean. The room was well furnished and had a modern en-suite. Breakfast was very good.

As we were on the ground floor with the pavement just outside the window at back of bed, the noise level was a little inconvenient. This was amplified by road works going on, but of course the hotel owner was not at fault and did speak with the workman. I do believe however that we may have been overcharged for our breakfast according to the website. For our two night stay the cost was around £300.00 which I felt was a little on the high side.
