The location
The staff were too young and therefore unprofessional, the room was too small and didn't have suitable facilities, the restaurant was chaos, with no order and delays in serving dinner. Food was mediocre.
3.9
Room was very ‘tired’, frayed carpets, mismatched furniture, curtains didn’t close, television not mounted straight on the wall, bedside light didn’t work! Not really good value for money overall.
3.9
Very central for all amenities.
Good sized room, well appointed and clean.
Lovely restaurant and beergarden ☀️🍺
Having to hunt staff for service in the cocktail bar.
3.9
Location
Lack of staff presence at reception and in the bar, plus fire alarm going off at 6:30am
3.9
Very clean room and excellent breakfast
3.9
Very old property (quirky )
Quite noisy if your staying at the front of the property

Great location and easy access to the historic habour at Berick apon tweed. Good food and service at the hotel.

Downstairs The Kings Arms looks modern. Really comfortable too. The bar and cafe were great and the staff couldn’t be friendlier
Upstairs needs a lot of TLC. It doesn’t match with downstairs. Our room was comfortable (room 18)….however it too needs some attention.
Paint peeling off the wood work.
Extractor fan in bathroom didn’t work
Plug on hairdryer was scorching hot after use
Kettle was full of water when we arrived.
Blinds in bathroom were damaged.
We also followed the instructions to leave towels in the bath if we wanted clean towels provided by housekeeping. We went out for the day and when we came back we realised that housekeeping hadn’t been in.
Oh and the staircase looks lethal….there is a sign saying that work is being done but it looks like it’s literally being held up by a couple of pieces of wood.

Lovely stay all round.
One slightly tetchy breakfast waitress .
Impenetrable shower instructions

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were so lovely and accommodating.
Just the iron we had, it was a dry iron and didn’t work so well.
3.9
Great breakfast and bar is unique
Mattress needs a foam topper. Plumbing needs looking at, but it does all work

The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and spotless. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were helpful and polite. There is a lot of history both in the building and Berwick itself. The location is superb.
The only thing I would say was that the decor in places needed refreshing. There was some flaking paint here and there but the dining room was closed for decoration so they are obviously on top of it.
3.9
The rooms was spacious and warm. The bathroom was large, heated and the hot water was always available.
Excellent location.
Has a great beer garden.
For the price, I would have expected breakfast to be included.

We loved the location of the hotel right in the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with good knowledge of the area. The food was good (especially the porridge) and there was plenty of choice. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.
nothing we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again if we go up to Northumberland.

Excellent hospitality, room and breakfast

nice old building right in centre of town
dirty room / mucky hand prints all over bathroom door hair on the floor and a awful shower which was useless as it’s installed incorrectly so sprays the wall /floor .
3.9
Breakfast and comfortable bed.
3.9
great location and friendly staff
our room (20) was on a slant - which felt a bit weird - but after one or two drinks it was ok

Fantastic hotel, parking directly outside as I only stayed overnight. The bed was exceptionally comfortable (I took a note of the mattress brand!) The amazing ladies in the restaurant were wonderful and have invited me to go out with them next time I stay! Cannot praise the hotel enough. Thank you so much
That I couldn't stay longer!
