The Hotel was clean and comfortable. It is in a nice location for the town center and the town walls, which can be walked along. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent.
The restaurant was closed on the evening that we visited

We were the only ones in the hotel on this dreary January day. But Kat and Heather went out of their way to make us comfortable. It was a lovely place and the beds - even the extra beds- in our room were amazing. We all had a wonderful sleep and a great breakfast the next morning. Thanks again Kat and Heather!

Good evening meal. Good breakfast although limited selection of cereals yogurts etc. limited space in bar for pre dinner drink. So we went elsewhere for this. Wi-Fi difficult to get going and probably narrow bandwidth or similar bc I couldn’t load bbc websites and and some podcasts.
Wi-Fi and not enough comfortable bar space. Staff too open about the chef having a bad moment

Location
The breakfast (kippers!) and friendly cook/server.
From what I could tell, it was basically it's a pub that serves meals. The room was tiny. I would have preferred a single bed which would have provided a bit of breathing space. (I realise it is an old property and all rooms are probably small).
Check-in was a bit frantic even though I arrived at correct time, I felt I was a nuisance as they were so busy serving meals.
Check out was also tricky as noone seemed to be around and I had a query. I definitely didn't feel I could go down and ask anything of staff as they were otherwise occupied.
I thought it was overpriced for what it provided.

Excellent location and clean.
Bed was really worn so mattress dipped and the noise from the street was quite bad

The staff were great and very accommodating. They were very welcoming and helped with organising a taxi to a wedding in the area. The rooms were gorgeous and very comfy beds. Breakfast the next day was delicious and staff were very welcoming there also.
We had no complaints.

Very pleasant traditional inn. Welcoming staff, nicely modernised, and very good food.
I was a bit annoyed to find the Booking.com rate was so much higher than the rate published at reception, especially as I had booked 2 rooms.

The breakfast was very good although I only had a small meal there was lots of choice if I wanted more. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. Good location near the Quay walls and town's facilities.
My room was above the dining room and was a bit noisy one night when there was a big group in.
