beautiful location, very comfortable beds, amazing spa treatments, fantastic breakfast. staff in the lakes restaurant are brilliant, great with children, they were efficient and the food was delicious.
it’s a bit shabby in places and in need of a spruce up. the staff in the sports bar were a little cold, and got our order wrong which meant we were waiting 30 minutes for a sandwich.
also, on two occasions we overheard members of the golf club speaking rudely about hotel guests. one said “why would they let children in the pool. do they not think of their members?” I think a little better information is needed to members to let them know hotel guests have paid for their stay and are just as entitled to use the facilities. it made us feel very uncomfortable.

Clean and good location for our trip
No air con in room
No provision for gluten free snacks in room
Swimming pool shut for weekend -we were travelling with grandchildren and chose this venue because there was a pool

Location excellent, breakfast good (except for soggy toast). No tissues in bedroom (standard in most hotels. Spaciousness.
Menus in Dining Room and Bar very limited choice. Polyester duvets.

Spa was nice although had no robes or slippers we could find!
Nice but run down. I specifically asked if they could do something nice for our anniversary and they said they would do swan towels and petals on the bed and nothing was done. Overall pretty disappointing stay. Won’t be returning.

very clean, Good facilities, friendly and very helpful staff, will definitely be booking in again in the future .
The food on room service wasn’t the greatest as there was a mountain of cheese on my pizza making it very sickly and greasy, I would still book a stay here again I just wouldn’t order the pizza 😂

We had my Husband's 60th Birthday party in one of the function rooms. The staff, particularly Melanie, were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and she helped make the 'surpirse' a success by adding to our planning with suggestions and ideas of how she could help. She was also on hand on the day to ensure everything went according to plan.
Nothing really. Apart from the fact that one of my friends was taken ill on the day and had to speak to the receptionist who she said was 'somewhat rude' when she explained that she wasn't well and may have to leave and not stay in her room. She was told that she would still have to pay for her room with very little empathy offered because she was poorly. She did manage to call one of our other friends who took up the room on her behalf as she felt that she had to pay for it and did not want to waste the paid for room. However the feedback she gave me was not too good regarding the service she received from the receptionist. Just a little more understanding would have been much appreciated i think. Thank you

Good food and facilities. Nice, helpful staff.
Disappointed our room had no refrigerator. We have stayed a few times previously and always the room had one built in but on this occasion, it didn't and we weren't informed of this prior.

An early pre arranged surprise wasn't carried out by the staff but this was rectified very quickly by the amazing staff here.

We attended a friends wedding. Grounds, ceremony, reception and other areas of the venue where lovely.
Staff super friendly!
Found the room a bit outdated/disappointing for the price we paid...just under £200...we requested early check in when booking via booking.com which was granted...only to find the venue refused to grant this...less than ideal when we had been told it was agreed. Very overpriced in my opinion.

Spacious room large bed.
Power cut and some staff were less than friendly. Breakfast was adequate but when things ran out the staff showed little concern and responded grudgingly. We were ignored by the reception staff on the first morning - we said good morning but were ignored as they seemed more interested on chatting with a man in a high vis jacket than acknowledging us. OK for a Premier Inn, but not for this price range of hotel. There may be a staff leadership problem here.
