Amazing views, comfortable home stay

The bed was extremely comfortable with a good, heavy duvet, lovely pillows and an extra blanket for warmth. The view was magnificent and you really felt at one with nature, amazing. A nice little drive outside to park the car, and the tv came with a box to make it smart and allow programs like YouTube on the WiFi which was also a good speed.

Unfortunately the TV was far too small. 20 inch screen in 2024 and at the distance it’s located from the bed makes no sense, I do not see why it couldn’t be that small bit bigger. Also the water is limited which makes sense due to the location at 150L capacity and only warm for 5 minutes max before needing a reheat. Also for a movies you have to purchase them your self!

Parfait !

Le logement est paisible et se trouve dans un très beau cadre. Nous l’avons trouvé facilement et le check in est très pratique, tout comme le check out. Bien équipé il était très propre et très agréable, nous étions contents de le retrouver après des journées bien remplies !

Unique and special

It was clean, near a beautiful lake, cozy, and the bed was so comfortable. We slept really well and loved waking you up to the sound of loons

The only thing I wish was for some basic food supplies- some coffee/tea/or milk. The locator is very remote and we missed the grocery story on our way in

Bungalow beautifully situated at lake with view of helgafell and church. Super bright and comfortable. Calm and quiet area that invites for relaxation. Sweet dog welcomed us on arrival. Would love to come again.

It was near perfect, but the kitchen could use a salad bowl or two.

Amazing place, super comfortable house in front of a small lake and far away from any confusion. Super lovely, wish to come back.

I would suggest to add a washer/dryer in the cottage, it would make the staying even more useful.

The location is very nice. I liked the little community and the setting of the house.

This house could be made so much better with an upgrade to better bedding and towels and a coffee pot that makes more than one cup at a time. The linens were very low quality and not comfortable.

Very clean and warm. Good isolated setting. Black out blinds worked very well. Bed comfy and shower was really good. Clear instructions for check in. Couple of friendly dogs as well came to say hi!

An amazing stay, in a cozy place in a beautiful location, very peaceful and relaxing.

It was one of the most beautiful places I've been in Iceland, next to a lake with amazing landscape views. The cottage was very cozy and warm during winter and although there were two days of blizzard it felt very comfortable inside. The host Lara and her family were so kind, making sure I'm alright or if I need anything, and they even went the extra miles, literally, by driving me in though weather conditions all the way to Reykjavík so I can catch my plane as there was no bus that day or the day before. I enjoyed my stay there very much.

Quiet, Easy and Beautiful.

Such a great spot by the lake and fantastic amenities in a tiny home. This was one of my favourite stats throughout my 12 day trip of Iceland and saw a great view of the Northern Lights!

Lovely place very well located for small trips around Snaefellsnes!

Check-in process wasn't done by the owner, but (probably) her dog. It showed us around the property, which is lovely (so is the dog!). I learned about Helgafell and the Saga related a bit before our arrival by reading about Gudrunarlaug, and when I saw that we would be staying literally at THE Helgafell I was super happy. I really felt connected to the tales (which I absolutely love). Other than that, the place is super nice, modern and cozy. Near the main city and close enough to all main attractions on the peninsula. I recommend!

It could only be more perfect if it had a hot tub! If I need to say something, the shower was under average compared to our other stays (not so potent nor with good space). Considering that the hot water supply is limited I would say it makes sense, so people don't stay under it for ages.

An absolute highlight of our trip

What an amazing place - a real gem! Spacious, the cabin has everything you might need, and is beautiful as well. Large windows overlooking the little lake - the whole location is stunning, with a captivating backstory. This is a place where you could stay forever - an ideal basis to explore the peninsula. If you don‘t want to use the well-equipped kitchen, it is only a short ride into town with several good restaurants.

Only one minor thing: people with longish hair would probably appreciate a more powerful hairdryer.
