Nice quiet location, good clean room with a good hot shower and comfortable, just what we needed after a morning of hiking.
Food was not available so we had to go elsewhere but we were told of this before we arrived so it was not a problem, the restaurant looks nice so hopefully we get to use it on our next visit.

Catered for most of my needs. Quiet, good setting in the lakes.

The staff had been exceptionally helpful from beginning to end. The bed was comfortable and queries or problems are resolved promptly.
For £70 a night I would have liked to feel somewhat more comfortable in using the bathroom facilities. I understand the use of the red admiral accommodation, in a sense of location and public use. but the bathroom sink and tap had issues left uncleared from previous visitors. For example, toothpaste and spit on tap handle/sink and opened sugar packets inside the bowl offerings. Indicating the room had not been cleaned or supposedly quickly ran through. Bedroom window was broke so if you ate in the room, it quickly became stuffy.

Convenient location. Okay radiator. Good storage space. Basics provided (towels, shower gel, hot drinks stuff).
Needed a hoover. Hair in the bed and bath. Unclear of how to use shower. Unclear how to check out. Everything felt damp. Dusty. Panel for bath falling off. Ceiling above shower leaking. No door handles for wardrobe. Toilet door wouldn’t close. Cobwebs.

Handy location for a long journey. Clean, dry and warm. Little kitchenette area is a bonus.
The room needs TLC though for the price this isn't a surprise at all. It looks like works are being done, the toilet wobbles and the seat moves so going for a pee is an adventure! There are a few holes in the walls, the windows could do with a clean and the shower leaks but as I mentioned, it's clean, dry and warm. If the above were fixed though we'd be happy to stay longer as a base to explore the area. I'd much rather give my money to an individual than a big chain.

What breakfast!!!!, Nothing at all, I've traveled around and seen some places but this one was the pits.. We only saw someone on arrival ( after the money for the rooms was taken out of our account) I went to ask to reserve breakfast for four the following morning to be told they did not do breakfast, But their advert was they did food but you had to reserve.
When we arrived we were shown to the rooms up a fire escape ( 2 sets of stairs) my husband has walking difficulties so to manage the stairs was extremely hard thank goodness we had my brother with us who could fetch up our bags otherwise we again would have had problems.

Nothing at all. It was disgusting.
If this is the type of accommodation Booking.com is offering these days then I will look for accommodation at other sights.
We were shown our room via a fire escape ( two sets of metal stairs) my husband has walking difficulties so it was extremely hard for him to get up. thankfully my brother was with us so he helped with luggage. Money was taken from our account before and we only saw the proprietor twice, I asked to reserve a table for four for breakfast to be told they don't do breakfast even though it is advertised.

The staff at the red admiral are incredible and cannot help you enough, the gentleman that greeted us when we arrived was there almost everyday of our 5 day stay and he was incredible, he couldn’t do enough for us was so friendly and chatty so helpful nothing we asked for was too much, also food here was incredible steak was cooked perfectly to how I asked everything was so fresh, pub in site of hotel was great plenty drinks options great atmosphere, so comfortable too. We were made to feel so welcome we will 1000% be visiting again in the near future. It’s also a great location not even a 2 minute drive to local village with shops that have everything you need and around 7 minutes from the nearest beach which was beautiful and had the most amazing ice cream shop which was also pointed out to us by the incredible gentleman from the hotel. Honestly can’t say a bad word about it the views all around are amazing, nice outdoor pub area with a little woods out back to walk to pooch and I cannot thank the man who was there during our stay honestly made our holiday so much so sweet and friendly absolutely loved our very needy dog! Lol you were incredible and for whoever gets to come across him during your stay you are lucky! Thank you so much!

friendly and helpful staff, spacious room with two double beds. only stayed here to climb Scafell and so was ideal

Good location for visiting seascale and access to scafell pike. Good sized rooms, a little dated but ok for what we needed. Easy to find and lots of parking, quiet room even though located right on the main road.
We were told the hotel/pub has a bio friendly boiler, because of this we had no hot water for both nights we stayed. Not great with little ones who needed a bath and myself who had been for a swim in the sea and wastwater lake! Reported to the owner but was told there was nothing that could be done due to the type of boiler.....
Also had to buy our own hand wash, no tea towels, kitchen spray or dish cloth for keeping the kitchenette tidy.

Room was clean and comfortable
Fortunately, coffee making facilities in room.
There appeared to be very low occupancy and therefore no draught beer , no food, no breakfast.

Proximity to work site. Right next to 595 road
Despite saying it was open, often found the door locked and no staff to process my needs.

The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Michelle and her family are great hosts and Richard went out of his way to look after my partner who is Celiac. The food was fantastic, good quality homemade pub grub, perfect for a winter break. The location is great for walking in Wasdale and we visited the steam railway in Eskdale too.
The accommodation is quite basic and the view from our room looked out onto some old sofas which could be improved on. However it was clean and we had a kitchenette which was super helpful to prepare packed lunches for walking. There was an issue with the boiler when we first arrived which meant no hot water or heating however they worked really hard to resolve this and once it was fixed the room was cosy and warm and the shower nice and hot. They upgraded my parents to a family room with kitchenette too which was a nice touch and they were very happy.

Met Richard on arrival, he was friendly and welcoming, the room was brilliant, we ate in the evening in the restaurant. We both had steaks, which Richard cooked to perfection. He has great knowledge of the local produce and how to implement his skills in the kitchen.
We had our jack Russell with us, he was made very welcome and had sausage at meal time. Richard is a dog lover big time and made Milo feel very comfy. He also has an amazing world of knowledge of the local area.
The pub/restaurant is a beautiful warm and welcoming 18th century building, with rich fabrics, furnishings and open fires. A place that you wouldn't object to being snowed in if there was a storm. Great menu and selection of beers.
Well worth the money, facilities were great, even a fridge and toaster. Very clean. Very light and comfortable. It was a pleasure to stay there and we will be back.
