Waitress in restaurant didn't speak English and confused our plates

Hotel is small privately owned and not a chain. a HUGE plus. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite good with a range of offerings. Other meals were also good and service was excellent. Rooms were comfortable and very insulated from sound. By far the best Madrid hotel I have stayed in. Chosen because of proximity to Chamartin train station which was very convenient. Also an easy trip to the airport. I would absolutely book again next time in Madrid

Lovely building, fantastic polished wood floors. Elegant.
Noisy equipment above ceiling (probably air conditioning which we did not use in the room) prevented sleep. Shower head broken. “Hot” food at breakfast was cold.

One line change from the Airport metro, right across the road from the metro stop and a large supermarket and pharmacy, two stops from the main metro line.
A relatively new build with an old-style look, welcoming friendly staff, most of whom speak English, I arrived early hoping to drop off my bag, and was allowed to check in early.
A large comfortable airconditioned bedroom with a tea service and minibar, complimentary products in the bathroom e.g. shaving kit, toothbrush, shampoo and shower gels, sewing kit etc shoe shine and safe in the large wardrobe.
I was in Madrid for a festival so was back late every night the night porter opened the door promptly, I stayed in bed late most days and after I went out the next day my room was serviced.
Reasonable selection of breakfast food available for vegetarians, including fruits, cereals, breads, pastries, eggs, and dairy products. strong coffee and orange juice. For meat eaters, there was also various cold meats and cooked breakfast meats.
It's hard to find fault, the rooms are located on three floors around the perimeter of the breakfast bar, light sleepers may be disturbed by the low hum from breakfast service in the morning.

The rooms were spacious and clean, the hotel had a nice sitting area in the atrium
We were there when it was 99 degrees fahrenheit during the day in Madrid. We woke up in the middle of the night at 2am in a hot room, unable to sleep. We thought the A/C was broken. When we called the front desk around 6am to report the lack of A/C, they said they purposely turn off the A/C from 12am to 7am! We couldn't believe it, it was the hottest time of the year. The outdoor air was much cooler than our room that morning when we left the hotel at 8am. We believe they should not turn off the A/C in the midst of the summer or at a minimum they MUST tell the guests they are doing this so we know to open the windows or do something to avoid a hot, sleepless night!

The location has a very “neighborhood” quality, but the metro stop is just across the street, allowing easy access anywhere. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast was well-rounded, fresh, and reasonably priced. I’ve already arranged booking details for my next visit!

Didn't have the breakfast so cannot comment. The bed was comfy and the room was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the metro station was across the road
