Breakfast was perfect, location was ideal for our itinerary
It doesn’t have a restaurant

Friendly reception on arrival. Lots of information. Room was clean with crisp decor as was whole hotel.
Superb cooked breakfast, nothing was to much bother for waitress.
Bathroom had instant hot water. Tabs on toilet rolls.
Lighter duvets. Quite hot and heavy but managable.

Friendly efficient Staff, especially Natalie. Rooms downstairs were beautifully done. Nice breakfast. Good value.
We had booked two rooms, after the grandeur of the rooms downstairs, we found our bedroom was dissapointing small and the shower room needed some tlc. Window overlooked the roof of the marquee no view of the grounds. Other room similar but had lovely views of the rear garden.

beautiful old building with original features in a lovely garden, very good breakfast
sadly a bit tired, more shabby than chic, quite a bland decor, bed a bit on the small side, doesn’t have a very cosy atmosphere.

amazing Staff. couldn’t do enough for me.
very comfortable

Lovely property with a very elegant feel to it. The staff were amazing - so friendly and helpful and nothing too much trouble. They serve light snacks if you don’t want to go out for dinner which were tasty and beautifully presented. You can also get a takeaway and they are happy to provide the crockery and cutlery for you. Breakfast was lovely and you could order any combination off the menu.
Some of the fixtures and fittings are a little bit tired but didn’t detract from the stay. The shower curtain probably needed to be replaced as it was mouldy on the bottom but that was really the only thing we could fault.

Owners and staff were all excellent. Breakfast (which was included) was great - lots of variety. Owners have done an excellent job of keeping such a characterful, "money pit" Georgian property looking good - just dressing the tall windows must cost a fortune! We had a nice meal at the Castle pub, a short walk down the road (a recommendation from staff). Beds were comfortable and the location was quiet.
We arrived at night and the grounds were a little dark. Parking was nestled amongst the trees and it was initially not clear where the main entrance was (big door in main house!). Over bath shower was fine, but took a bit of fiddling to get the hot and cold in the right balance - no complaints though; you can't spoil the effect with a modern alternative.

Natalie was amazing! Helps with anything, the breakfast was superb, a lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings
Mattress in room 5 was lumpy, mould around the shower

Very quiet. Very comfortable. Very relaxing. Absolutely terrific staff who were incredibly kind and helpful to me throughout my stay, particularly as I am disabled at the moment. I will leave here not wanting to and with my batteries fully re-charged. Thank you to everyone at The Old Rectory. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
See above.

All members of staff were so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Great location within walking distance to Wem town.

Lovely building, very peaceful, room was comfortable with everything you need.
The best thing though was the way we were looked after, the staff were absolutely fantastic, couldn’t do enough for us and were very polite and friendly.
If I had to find fault it would be the quality of the vegetarian breakfast but overall there wasn’t anything that we didn’t like.

Breakfast excellent, well presented, top quality bacon and sausage :-)

Friendly staff.
Lovely old building. Room size, location and aspect all fine. Very creaky floorboards, was worried about waking other guests. Could be remedied. Some items in the room very dusty and the carpet didn't look hoovered, some dead flies/insects by the window.

A relaxing stay. Improvedv- sunny weather - so it was possible to enjoy the garden. From my room I observed a glorious bright red sunset. Very helpful service from Natalie and Suzanne.
