LOcation near British Museum and easy walk to West End

Our room (jr suite) was very good but our family member booked a single room which was small and cramped, substandard for this level of hotel
3.5 / 5.0
The room was very nice and well appointed, and the bed was comfortable. I loved the location - it was a quick walk to Covent Gardens and nearby Store St had amazing eateries. I enjoyed the continental breakfast.
I have slightly reduced mobility and minor balance issues, and found it difficult to climb several flights of stairs to my room, especially when there was no handrail on my dominant side (the right). I wasn't aware that the property has no elevator, and believe this should be made clear on the website and/or at the time of booking. Also, the rooms should be better sound-proofed. I could hear the people in the next room talking, and they were not speaking loudly.

L’endroit est très bien situé
Le rapport qualité prix n’y est pas

Location, clean room and nice staff
No restaurant…how does it rate being in Small Luxury Hotels of the world? It’s small, but hardly luxury or world class

Excellent vibe to the location. Quaint boutique hotel. I had a single bed room that was lovely and cosy. Staff all very lovely. Delicious breakfast.
More bathroom ventilation.

I had a horrendous experience with a different hotel earlier in the day and I explained this out of sheer joy to be somewhere nice and the receptionist brought a complimentary bottle of wine to my room as a sorry! It wasn’t even their fault!!! Such good service and really made a difference!! Ida was fabulous!
Bar closing at 11 was a little unusual.

Great Night Sleep. Complementary mini Fridge. Filled with soft drinks. Free WiFi. Complementary continental breakfast included. Had a good selection of fruits and pastries. The staff were very friendly.

Had to pay £15 for anything hot and no alternatives for dairy allergy in yogurts which when paying that amount I would have expected.

the location was fabulous and the bathroom was amazing
the floor was not flat in the slightest and no pegs for hanging coat. Air con and heating did not work and couldn’t adjust them

Myself and my husband stayed here across our wedding weekend. The staff, in particular Ida and Mary, were exceptionally helpful. They did everything in their power to ensure our bridal party, beauty artist and family members were comfortable and catered for on the morning of the wedding. Staff assigned us a room which allowed us to get ready for the day ahead with ease, and we really appreciated all their help and flexibility. We’ll always think fondly of the Academy! Thank you :)
We were initially dismayed to see the external scaffolding but this simply couldn’t be helped, and ultimately doesn’t detract from your stay.

The room was absolutely beautiful. The bathroom was amazing. The bed was comfy and the bedroom was well equipped. We visited London for my partners birthday, the staff at the hotel arranged balloons in the room which was a pleasant surprise. I really appreciate the special extra touches and we will be back !!

everything was really clean
on check in after our long flight we were invited to the bar after our dinner at a pub nearby. when we returned to the hotel the front desk staff were also manning the bar around the corner. 90% of the items on the drinks menu were unavailable. so he told us to come back in 2 days when the bar staff were there. so we did to give it another shot as the bar area looks nice and comfortable. when we returned the bar staff were there for a private function. not to serve hotel guests. So we had to sit outside the bar area and be served there.
The rooms are VERY small, 2 of us with suitcases for a 6 week trip and nothing else fits in the room.. sitting on the toilet is also a challenge as there is a sink DIRECTLY infront of the toilet.
The walls are very thin and rooms are very noisy, you can hear everything from the rooms above and next door, Creaking floorboards, beds.. the Lot.
the bed in the room was a double and my half of the bed was on angle so had to hang on to not fall out through the night.
I wouldn’t stay here again, it’s a 3 star hotel at best. feel like I was stitched up.
front desk staff are lovely and help where they can and the included breakfast buffet was really good.

the room was embarrassing. last floor, under the roof, the air conditioning did not work and the window was broken with not curtain to block the sunlight in the morning

Breakfast was good. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. No surface to put anything down or outlet for hairdryer in bathroom - very difficult to maneuver. Patio in room 511 was a disaster. Room was so small we had to remove furniture to open suitcase. Bed was very comfortable. Again, we loved your staff.

The Academy advertises as a 5-star "small luxury hotel", which it is definitely not. It is a solid 4-star-house in a great location with friendly and helpful staff and a nice courtyard. Our room was sizeable, but we could not open the windows, which was annoying. The breakfast is mediocre and there is no gym.
Due to the scaffolding and "security concerns" we could not open the windows.

The size of the room. The size of the shower (I am a small, 5' 3" woman and could barely manage). Some of the staff had less than welcoming attitudes. It was very difficult to get coffee served promptly in the breakfast room, and it arrived in a small cup. It should be delivered instantly and in a large amount. The "hostess" in the breakfast room appeared to be writing a novel at her post and was of no help whatsoever. (I did have a waitress who took my coffee complaint to heart and did her best to deliver.)

A superb hotel and the staff were vert professional. The room was lovely and felt at ease as soon as we walked in. It was so quiet and we had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was fantastic and we really enjoyed it. It is a few minutes away from hustle and bustle of London but you don't feel like you are. So quiet and relaxing.

This is one of my favourite little hotels in London. The staff are amazing and the suites are lovely.
