The single beds are very short.
Car parking was included in the price but there were no spaces so we had to pay more to park offsite.
There were noisy drinkers underneath the room until midnight and then staff started moving around the furniture in the bar at 7am!

Staff were pleasant, polite, helpful and welcoming even when I arrived quite late.

location for my needs was excellent with good free parking. staff very friendly and welcoming. bedroom was very comfortable and well equipped. received a phone call from receptionist to check everything was ok with the room once I’d checked in - a nice touch.
the room whilst very nice was on top floor 3 steep flights of stairs no lift (I’ve had a full knee replacement 10 weeks ago) - although staff helped with my luggage. the shower in the bedroom was incredibly poor given the room price (£147 b&b) - nothing worse than a very low pressure trickle and not easy to get temperature right. I was disappointed that a hot breakfast (full English) was only available from 9am onwards!! again price point - this was surprising- that said the continental breakfast was very good and ample.

Room was lovely, bed was comfortable and it was spotlessly clean.
Hotel was in a very good location near the shops and restaurants.
Breakfast not served until 09:00 because it was Sunday. We needed to leave at 09:00, so missed breakfast. It was included in the price, so we feel we were overcharged. Is 08:15 too early to expect breakfast in a hotel?

great food, big rooms
breakfast only served between 9-10 each day so we only got to eat on one of our 3 nights even though I paid for breakfast

location to station direct for London or Birmingham
so hot & noises plus room 10 that we were in needs a blind on the bathroom door to stop the light streaming in from the window plus give bathroom more privacy. Loo right next to opaque glass door not attractive

The first morning there was no chef to cook breakfast at 07.40, the bar person made me a bacon sandwich and my wife went without. The second morning we had a good breakfast.
The restaurant food was good, the drinks were expensive.
There was nobody on duty through the night, the guests left alone in the building.
The room had n't been very thoroughly cleaned.

Reception desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and prompt.
Fois gras on menu- not British or ethical (even our government are planning to ban it.)
Menu boasts all british ingredients-Fois gras is not British.
There are a couple of stains on sofa and carpet of the "best room the hotel". Could do with but of a spruce up.
"Individual temperature control in each room" cannot be sold as the thermostat on the radiator. Don't try to oversell when the service you're providing is already good.
Other than that, it did the job well and we had a nice stay. Thank you.

Handy location. Freshly cooked breakfast. Bed was very comfy.
Our room - number 12 - was up two flights of stairs; a converted attic area. Spacious enough but divided into small areas of unknown utility. The pub downstairs was very busy, quite noisy on the Friday night - and the drinks there were very expensive.

The staff had kindly upgraded us to a bigger room due to all of our bags.
However we were placed down the back of the hotel, above the kitchen. It meant you can hear extractors and every so often the smell of staff smoking, drifting in the window, which we ended up closing. Definitely not the quietest. Particularly for how much the stay cost. Also the breakfast granola is more like a bowl full of yoghurt. We had to request granola on the side.

Very upscale ambience. The staff were warm, welcoming and accommodating and the rooms very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and the included breakfast a delight!
An elevator to the second floor would be nice for those of us with cranky knees.
