Quite area of Grahamstown. Breakfast was good. Natalie our host was very informative, and on her recommendation we went to The Highlander restaurant right across the road from our B & B for dinner. What a lovely place to just chill looking over the beautifully kept St Andrew's High school playing fields. The setting was lovely, and the food offerings were plentiful at great prices. Highly recommend this eating house.
Although they have had limited rain over the last couple of months, the property does have a very large underground water storage area for use on the property. The gardens were looking tired and certainly need some serious attention and cleaning up to make it more welcoming. The glass fronted exterior kitchen door overlooks the pool, but we had the displeasure of sitting around the pool having to look at this huge broken pane of glass in the door. The pool itself was dirty and not what i expect from a 4* B & B. The price paid was also a bit on the expensive side for what we got, with others in the area offering better rates.

Delicious and hearty breakfast. Lovely coffee. The breakfast room was spacious and comfortable and they were very accommodating to non-guests joining for a cup alongside the guests.
There really isn't anything that I didn't like. It was a lovely space.

The house design is absolutely beautiful. The garden is beautiful and the rooms were adequate. The staff and manager are amazing, they treat people with kindness and the breakfast was amazing
The location of the guesthouse because of the potholes. My room was cold but the manager was helpful in sorting the problem out.

Very conveniently located in Grahamstown. The building is beautifully restored, secure and very safe. The reception was fantastic and overall staff and manager very friendly, competent and extremely helpful. The breakfast was out of this world and referrals to nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner were spot on.
The main thing I did not like was the road from Pearson to Grahamstown which is not fit for human travel but I suppose that the Manor can realistically not do anything about this particular problem. In terms of the Manor, not actually sure what I did not like.

Delicious breakfast and great hospitality.
Room didn't lock from outside (it did from inside) so I was concerned about security

Everything about the premises was simply great. Staff were exceptional and the environment was very relaxing.
Maybe some power back up during load shedding

Was very well run and Natalie was extremely helpful. The breakfast was excellent even though the staff has loadshedding just before start of breakfast.
They do not have a generator during loadshedding but had a very strong LED light in the room so wasn't a problem.

Great location, great breakfast. Friendly staff.
It would have been nice to know there would be no water. Understand that Makhanda has its issues, but some washing|flushing water would have been nice!

I like the lodge as long as you can have one of the upstairs rooms. I dont like the downstairs room/Courtyard room. Thats the one to avoid.
The Courtyard Room smells a little and is very dark. I wont go back to that one
